Chapter 49 - Reunion After Thirty Years

While Kotori was still sulking in frustration, Rin Yuki had already finished cleaning up.

Technically, for someone at his level now, washing himself could be done with just a thought.

But he still enjoyed the simple comfort of a hot bath. Even now, he liked to keep up with normal human habits.

And as for what Kotori had been doing earlier in his room—

Rin Yuki, relaxing in the bathtub that whole time, had seen everything.

He opened the bathroom door and stepped out, wearing nothing but a loose sleep shirt.

By now, Kotori had already returned his computer to its original position. She sat stiffly at the edge of the bed, acting like nothing had happened.

Yuki looked at her and saw the pink still lingering on her cheeks—whether it was embarrassment, leftover anger, or both.

He smiled faintly.

"So… while I was in the bath, you didn't do anything weird, did you?"

"N-No! Of course not!"

Kotori shook her head so fast her red twin-tails spun like helicopter blades.

Yuki gave her a knowing look, then glanced at the computer.

She'd done her best to put everything back the way it was, but she'd missed one small detail—the angle of the screen.

It was slightly off from how he had left it.

Not that it mattered. This was Kotori, after all. Even if she knew he noticed, she wouldn't care.

"Alright, let's go. How should I carry you today?"

Yuki walked over and ruffled her hair.

"Hmph! I don't need you to carry me, stupid onii-chan!"

"Today I'm gonna beat the game all by myself! You just sit back and watch!"

With her cheeks puffed and arms crossed, Kotori looked like the very definition of a stubborn little sister.

Yuki chuckled softly but didn't argue. He simply led her out of the room.

On the way to the game room, they bumped into Mio, who was carrying drinks and snacks.

"Ara, Yuki-chan and Kotori-chan heading off to play games?" she asked with a warm smile.

"Mhm! Riene-nee, today I'm gonna beat the whole game without onii-chan's help!"

Kotori replied with a proud nod, full of energy.

"My, my. Looks like someone's fired up."

Mio's eyes softened as she looked at Kotori, clearly fond of her.

"You two go ahead. I just need to mix up a few more drinks—I'll bring them in later."

Then her gaze shifted to Rin Yuki.

Her eyes shimmered with affection—overflowing with deep, quiet love.

"Okay!"

Kotori immediately tugged Yuki away.

As they walked off, a passing thought flickered through his mind.

Behind them, just as Mio turned around, her body trembled. Her pupils shrank, and her eyes widened in shock.

But then—

The shock melted into happiness.

A soft mist clouded her vision, and thick tears, big as pearls, began rolling down her cheeks.

She was crying—but out of joy.

Because Rin Yuki had just sent her a telepathic message.

He was finally back—from thirty years in the past.

After waiting for three whole decades, Mio had her beloved again.

The emotions nearly drowned her.

But thankfully, a bit of logic helped her keep calm.

'He's back. He confirmed it himself. He won't be disappearing again.'

So she could wait just a little longer.

Her heart filled with joy, Mio turned toward the kitchen.

And knowing she was the first one to find out?

It gave her a tiny sense of victory over Ellen and the others.

She even started planning—how to casually drop the news and enjoy their shocked faces when they found out.

Meanwhile, Rin Yuki and Kotori arrived at the game room.

The place stretched over 100 square meters and was filled with high-end gaming PCs and consoles.

The shelves were packed with figurines, posters, merch—everything a collector could dream of.

Piles of snacks and drinks were stacked around the room.

Game discs, massive screens—anything a gamer could ever want was here.

It was a literal gaming paradise.

Back on Earth, Yuki had dreamed of having a room like this.

But real life had other plans—housing prices rose faster than his paycheck.

He couldn't even afford a tiny apartment, let alone a game room.

But now, after traveling to this world, he'd achieved what was once impossible.

With money he earned himself, he turned this into the gaming room of his dreams.

When he first arrived in the Date A Live world, he had relied on Mio for financial help.

But after getting the [King of Knowledge] skill, he instantly mastered every possible field in just a day.

Even ones normal people weren't supposed to touch.

Hacking, finance, combat, science—he maxed them all out.

Using his insane financial knowledge, he borrowed startup capital from Earth's largest banks and started building wealth.

His offshore account balance had so many zeroes, it was basically unreadable.

One of his high-risk trades sent shockwaves through global markets.

With a single action, he cut off the cash flow of hundreds of elite corporations and drove them into collapse.

And since the name on his trading account was just "Dragon", the world gave him a nickname:

The Wall Street Dragon.

Whenever traders saw that account show up, they panicked.

"Holy crap! The Dragon's back!!!"

....

Kotori quickly powered on the console and began scrolling through their game library.

"Come on, onii-chan! After we finish this one, we're playing the next!"

She tossed a controller over. Yuki caught it with one hand, then grabbed a lollipop from the snack pile.

Unwrapping it, he held it out to her.

"Here. Better power up first—otherwise, you'll blame your next loss on not having a lollipop like last time."

"Mmgh—Urusai!"

"I would never say something like that!"

Her cheeks turned red again. Classic tsundere mode.

Still, she leaned in and opened her mouth to take the candy—

And accidentally let her tongue brush his fingers.

A soft touch.

Yuki blinked, his gaze sharpening slightly.

Kotori froze. Her whole face went red.

Realizing what she'd just done, she quickly turned away and glued her eyes to the screen.

"J-Just start the game already!"

Yuki smirked but didn't tease her.

The game began, and the two of them got into their usual flow.

A little later, Mio came in with fresh drinks and desserts.

She sat close beside Yuki without saying a word.

After waiting thirty years, she wasn't going to waste a second.

While Yuki was distracted with Kotori, Mio's hand quietly slid around his waist.

Yuki glanced at her—but didn't stop her.

Encouraged, she leaned into him, breathing in his scent and resting her head on his shoulder.

Only Yuki's body blocked her from Kotori's view—not that the girl noticed. She was too focused on the game.

Two hours later, Kotori had fallen asleep in the middle of a fight.

Yuki picked her up and carried her gently to bed.

But instead of returning to his own room—

He appeared in Mio's.

She was already waiting.

The moment he materialized, she lunged.

Her arms wrapped around him, her lips crushed against his—hungry, desperate, full of pain and joy and need. Their bodies tangled immediately, falling into bed.

Her robe slipped off her shoulders. Her bare skin pressed against his chest as her hands roamed, trembling.

"You're here… you're really here…"

Yuki answered her with kisses, with touches that melted the last threads of restraint between them.

She had waited three decades.

Now,

She devoured him.

He took her in his arms, whispering her name as he laid her down, sliding the sheets aside.

Her legs wrapped around his waist.

And beneath the dim lights, She finally reunited with him

Not in memory.

Not in longing.

But in the present.

Body, soul, and thirty years of desire released at last.
