Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Trying to be clever, but making a mess; exposing true feelings

Not until three in the afternoon did Tsunade arrive at the hospital. Upon seeing Raizen, her face wore an expression seeking praise.

"Why that look?", Raizen asked curiously, "Where did you go?"

"I went to the pharmaceutical department," Tsunade said proudly.

"What?", Raizen exclaimed as he stood up, a bad premonition rising in his heart, "Why did you go to the pharmaceutical department?"

"To help you," Tsunade was somewhat confused by Raizen's reaction, "Why are you so jumpy?"

"No, why would you go to the pharmaceutical department? Did Koharu Utatane ask you for help?"

At this moment, Raizen felt like dying.

No, the plan had deviated massively, maybe he really was going to die. Perhaps he didn't have long to live.

'What the hell is all this?'

'Trying a risky move, but in the end, did I completely mess it up?'

"No, I contacted her myself," Tsunade had no awareness of the gravity of the situation, "Because I heard that every time you go to the pharmaceutical department, you almost explode with anger, so I didn't want you to suffer anymore."

"You… contacted… her on your own…", Raizen's face looked utterly dreadful at that moment.

"Ha ha ha ha ha, contacted her yourself, HA HA HA, HA HA HA HA!"

Raizen suddenly went crazy, laughing wildly without stopping, even though Tsunade called out to him many times, he still didn't stop.

"This is killing me, ha ha ha, contacted her yourself!"

"Ha ha ha ha ha!"

"Raizen, that's enough! What's wrong with you?", Tsunade was frightened by Raizen and almost shouted to cut off his laughter.

"Tsunade, oh Tsunade, when my funeral happens later, you'd better not go, or I swear I won't let you go even as a ghost," Raizen's eyes suddenly turned fierce, and he said coldly.

After saying that, Raizen seemed like his soul had been sucked out, incomparably desolate, but still laughing wildly as he walked out of the hospital like a madman, heading toward an empty corner of the village.

———

By the riverbank, Raizen picked up nearby stones and threw them into the water one by one. Occasionally, he startled a fish, which leapt out of the water and quickly fell back in.

Raizen felt that he was just like that fish now. No matter how he struggled, trying to leap out of the water, in the end he would always be swallowed by the river.

Tsunade, who had followed all the way, saw that Raizen seemed to have regained his senses and slowly approached him.

"Raizen, are you okay?", Tsunade asked worriedly.

"Go away. I don't want to see you," Raizen said coldly, as if he had no emotion at all.

"What do you mean by that?", Tsunade became anxious. The sudden eruption earlier had left her completely at a loss. She had no idea why Raizen suddenly went mad.

She thought about it the whole way here, but had no clue.

But it all happened after Raizen found out she went to the pharmaceutical department to help.

Could there be some unspeakable secret in this?

"Go away!", From beginning to end, Raizen only had these words in his mouth.

"You really don't want to see me that much?"

"Ha ha ha!", Raizen suddenly laughed again, but his tone was icy as he said, "To someone who's trying all means to kill me, what do you think?"

"You tell me clearly, when have I ever wanted to kill you?", Tsunade grew more confused, but she urgently wanted to know the answer.

"You really want to hear it?", Raizen asked with a tone full of mockery.

"Of course," Tsunade also became angry. She had no idea how all this had happened, but Raizen's attitude toward her broke her heart.

"If you want to hear it, fine," Raizen said bitterly, "But after I finish telling you, from now on, we will have no further ties whatsoever. How about it?"

"You said that yourself, don't regret it," Tsunade gripped the hem of her clothes tightly, holding back tears and biting her lips as she responded.

"SKAUMO HATAKE, GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!", Tsunade didn't get the explanation from Raizen yet, but instead was met with Raizen's roar.

Three seconds later, a figure appeared behind Raizen and Tsunade.

"Kakashi's father, I'm going to talk to Tsunade in private now," Raizen coldly stared at Sakumo Hatake and said with a smile, "Do you want to listen in too?"

"Uh…", Sakumo Hatake looked awkwardly at Tsunade, not knowing what to do.

"Senior, please give us ten minutes," Tsunade suppressed her anger and said to Sakumo.

"Got it," Sakumo nodded and used Body Flicker to disappear from the spot.

"Now can you speak?", Tsunade had a face that looked ready to eat someone alive, speaking coldly.

She swore, starting today, no matter how Raizen begged her in the future, she would never bother with this bastard again.

She clearly hadn't done anything wrong, yet she suddenly had to endure this kind of treatment. No matter what the reason was, she would never accept it.

Raizen naturally understood Tsunade's thoughts, but he didn't care.

To survive, Raizen needed not love, but Tsunade's guilt.

Only great guilt would make Tsunade willingly help him.

He had been laying the groundwork for this day for a very long time.

As for whether he would break Tsunade's heart?

'Who cares.'

'No one cared when I was heartbroken for seven years. Why should I care about you, Tsunade?'

Taking a deep breath, Raizen seemed to fall into his memories and opened his mouth without any emotion. "Twelve years ago, my parents died, in the war."

"Suddenly becoming an orphan, I was a bit lost."

"I had no money, no other relatives, and didn't know how to survive."

"But Konoha's welfare system was not bad. The village gave me a pension. Though not much, if I saved, the pension from my two parents was enough to support me until I became a Chūnin."

"Slowly, I accepted reality and began to learn to live, struggling to survive with no family and no one to care for me."

Tsunade frowned and said unhappily, "Why are you telling me all this?"

"Heh, if you don't want to listen, then leave," Raizen's voice was as cold and indifferent as if nothing he was saying had anything to do with him.

Seeing that Tsunade didn't leave, Raizen simply pretended she didn't exist and continued, "It's not easy for a seven-year-old child to survive, but my parents told me that only by surviving is there hope."

"Like that, seven years passed, and I completely got over the impact of my parents' death."

"At that time, I naively thought, in just two more years, I could graduate. By then, I would become a ninja and walk the path my parents once walked."

"But what I got wasn't graduation, it was expulsion."

"I didn't understand, but reality gave me no time to figure it out. I was immediately expelled from the Uchiha clan and forced to leave their clan grounds."

"Then came the never-ending surveillance by ANBU ninjas."

"Of course, this has nothing to do with you, just consider it my venting."

"Surveillance is fine. Whatever. I was in the hospital, and I could live off my own hands."

"But when I was twelve, I suddenly found that the chakra from the ANBU ninjas watching me started to feel wrong."

"Forgot to tell you, I'm not just a medical ninja, I'm also a sensory ninja. My sensory abilities are very, very strong."

"So strong that if someone is close, I can sense even the subtlest changes in their chakra."

"After feeling a trace of cold killing intent in the chakra of the ANBU watching me, I realized that the orders those ANBU received may have changed."
