Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Sixth Star

Tryouts at Teiko Middle School weren't just competitive—they were a battlefield. Hundreds of hopefuls showed up each year, but only a handful made it past the first cut. The Generation of Miracles had already begun making waves. Their presence alone scared off many. But one boy strolled in late, wearing dark sunglasses, chewing gum, and smiling like he already knew how everything would turn out.

"Satoru Gojo," he introduced himself casually, spinning a basketball on his finger. "No position. I play everything."

Whispers broke out immediately. His height was abnormal for a middle schooler. His confidence was unbearable. And yet—there was something captivating about him.

The coach sighed. "We already have our first-stringers. You can try out for second string if you want."

Gojo tilted his head. "Nah, that won't work for me. I'll play the first team. Just tell the 'Miracles' to come out already."

That's when Akashi Seijuro stepped onto the court. Cold. Regal. Commanding.

"You think you deserve to play with us?" he asked, eyes gleaming with quiet authority.

Gojo grinned. "Deserve's a funny word. Why don't we let the court decide?"

A scrimmage was arranged. Gojo would face off against three of the Miracles: Aomine, Midorima, and Kise.

What followed was… surreal.

Aomine drove to the basket—Gojo stole the ball without breaking a sweat.

Midorima launched a full-court shot—Gojo jumped, tapped it mid-air, and grinned. "Too slow."

Kise copied his moves—but Gojo changed styles so fluidly, it was impossible to keep up.

He didn't just dominate—he dazzled. Between passes behind the back, no-look assists, trick shots, and an almost supernatural awareness of every player on the court, even the coach sat stunned.

By the end of the game, Gojo casually walked over to Akashi and offered a lazy salute.

"So, captain, do I pass?"

Akashi studied him for a long moment. Then, slowly, he nodded. "You'll be the seventh."

Gojo raised an eyebrow. "Seventh man?"

"No," Akashi said. "You'll be our sixth star."

Across the gym, Kuroko watched silently. For the first time, someone had entered their orbit not to follow—but to shine just as brightly.

And Gojo? He was only getting started.
