Kaya paused.
Internally, a very small, highly rational part of her brain was currently screaming in sheer financial terror. She was wealthy, yes. Vanguard Global was a multi-billion-dollar empire in terms of total asset valuation. But liquid cash? No one just had three hundred million dollars sitting in a checking account ready to be set on fire for a two-hour radar blackout.
To actually produce that kind of liquid capital legitimately, she would have to liquidate Vanguard's stock, sell off half their shipping fleets, and alert the board of directors.
But looking at the absolute, worshipful awe in her Vulture chief's eyes... she couldn't ruin the moment.
