Kaya braced for the end.
But the crash never came.
A split second before their bodies struck the unforgiving stone, the cold, rushing wind abruptly stopped. The deafening roar of the collapsing tower was instantly silenced, as if someone had violently severed a physical cord in the fabric of the world.
A blinding, searing flash of pure, white light engulfed them, burning so brightly it pierced straight through Kaya's closed eyelids. The sensation of falling vanished, replaced by a dizzying, nauseating feeling of being violently pulled through a vacuum.
And then, there was absolutely nothing.
The canyon, the Rot-weavers, the falling debris, and the shattered dream of the Free Clan simply ceased to exist.
They vanished into the void, leaving nothing behind but the echoes of a crumbling fortress in the dark.
Back in the Venom-tooth Canyons, the search went on for days.
