Kirian's presence within the group had always been so faint that most people barely noticed him. It was only now that they finally remembered him again
"He is dead."
Viola's cold, clinical voice broke the silence as she looked at the other three.
She brushed a strand of silver hair out of her eyes, her face devoid of any visible grief.
"He was swallowed whole by the dungeon boss. I doubt there is anything left for us to recover."
No one answered.
Jayan lowered his head, Selena quietly closed her eyes, and Renz simply stared at the viola without saying a word.
"I see," Jayan finally muttered, his voice hollow. "Then there is nothing more we can do except return and report what happened."
No one disagreed. The logic was brutal, but it was the reality of their profession.
They decided to finally leave the dungeon, but Jayan suddenly stopped Viola.
"Wait."
Viola looked back at him.
