Chapter 24 - The moving Island part 2

As all Might and Melissa Shield began talking to each other, I started thinking to myself, having a brief internal conversation with Nana.

"So, she's pretty cute, isn't she?" Nana said with a teasing tone in her voice.

"Yeah, she's pretty cute," I responded.

"Thinking of getting her in your harem?"

"Maybe I am, baby. I'm not," I replied with a grin.

"And this is my friend Midoriya. He's a hero course student that I'm teaching," All Might introduced me.

"It's nice to meet you," I said, extending my hand. She shook my hand, her gaze lingering on my glove, noticing the intricate design.

"Your glove is made of an unknown, durable material, and so is the rest of your suit. There are ports on the knuckles that likely fire some kind of projectile—probably linked to your quirk. You also have pouches on the sides for emergency supplies," she said, inspecting my suit closely.

(She's really skilled; the suit was constructed from common materials, yet she identified all that at a glance.) I thought.

"I did make it myself, using special materials I had at my disposal," I said.

"That's quite impressive. Would you mind showing me them sometime?" she asked.

"Sure, that wouldn't be a problem," I replied.

"If you're done here, can we go see David now?" All Might asked, a suspicious smirk forming on his face.

"Oh, yes. Father's probably still in his lab," Melissa said.

Twenty minutes later, we arrived at David Shield's lab. All Might went over to hug his best friend, but suddenly, he coughed violently. I asked Melissa to give me a tour of the facility, and her father agreed as we left the room.

We stepped back outside and began exploring.

"This place is enormous, and everything is meticulously man-made," I remarked, admiring the incredibly well-designed environment.

"Yep, it has everything a normal island would—except the land-dwelling people can't travel here. The island can move itself, but we can't," she explained.

"Really? Why not?" I inquired.

"Scientists keep them pretty busy, so they and their families live here full-time. It leaves little time for travel, and it helps prevent leaks about sensitive work," she explained, just as a Godzilla-like creature wearing a red and white cloak passed by.

(Sometimes I forget I'm in a different world. That thing looks exactly like Godzilla. Wait a minute—does Godzilla exist in the movies of this world?) I wondered.

"Yep, they did, when I was a kid. I watched the movies," Nana clarified.

"Cool. I think their sponsor flew him out here to sign autographs. These expos attract a lot of attention, drawing many people and heroes, who come here to sign autographs and serve as part-time security," Melissa added.

"That's really smart. I highly doubt anyone would dare attack a place protected by a hero with 'God' in his name," I said, speculating that he might have abilities similar to Godzilla, like atomic fire breath.

"And all of them will be at the big party tonight. I guess you already knew that, since you came with Uncle Might," she said.

"Yes, he did tell me," I confirmed.

"Why don't we check out another building?" she suggested, pointing to a different structure.

"Sure, why not?" I agreed, following her inside a high-tech facility filled with cutting-edge gadgets.

"This is a vehicle that can operate in air and water," she said, showcasing a holographic display that demonstrated its capabilities.

"That sounds impressive, but unless I need to fight, I probably won't use it. I can control water pretty well, and I have a device that lets me fly if I do it right," I explained.

"Yeah, I figured, but it's always good to have options," she replied as we moved on to another exhibit.

"And they have a suit that allows underwater diving," she added.

"Nice. I might be able to go on the water, but I can't reach the ocean's deepest parts," I said, contemplating the suit's potential.

"Try this helmet. It's a sensor that gives you 360° vision," she said, placing it on my head.

"Very nice," I said, admiring the view as we continued exploring.

"Most of the technology here was developed by my dad," Melissa noted.

"Really? You must be proud of him. I wish I knew more about my own father," I said wistfully.

"Did you lose your father in an accident?" she asked gently.

"Not exactly. I remember him being loud when I was three, but one day he went out to handle some business and never came back. My mom says he went to work in America abroad, but I haven't heard from him since," I explained plainly.

"I'm sorry. I lost my mother in a villain attack years ago, which is why my father moved us here. He wanted me to be safe but didn't want to confine me forever. He left me the tools I needed to become who I am today," she said, gazing at a picture of her father on a display.

(I hate to interrupt this touching moment, but I don't think you want to find out who your father really is.) Nana interjected.

(What makes you say that?) I asked.

(When you reincarnated, did you thoroughly examine the memories of this body, or did you just skim through them?) she inquired, already knowing the answer.

(I skimmed over them. I didn't think they were that important. The only things I needed to know were where I lived and how to navigate the city.) I replied. At that time, I considered that sufficient; I didn't delve into deeper memories, assuming they mirrored the original.

(Well, that's the thing—your father. It might be better if you come here alone sometime, and I can show you.), she said, stopping her narration.

"My dream is to become a support item maker in the future—like a renowned scientist helping heroes," she shared.

"You're well on your way. From just looking at my suit, you could tell it's not ordinary clothing. Maybe in the future, we could work together. A good hero is only as strong as their support team," I suggested, scratching the back of my head. It was a long shot, but if I could have her and Mei as my support, using the resources of the Infinity Castle, I could create something extraordinary.

"Really? I'll have to think about it," she replied, pausing thoughtfully.

"It looks like you're having fun," Ochaco said as she, Momo, and Kyoka approached from behind.

"Who is this?" Momo asked.

"Greene, I heard everything," Kyoka added, twirling her earphone jack.

"This is my friend—Melissa Shield. How did you three get here?" I asked, feeling a strange sensation from my back as I turned around. I saw nothing, but looking down, I noticed gloves and boots.

"Toru?" I exclaimed, surprised.

"Yep, and not just me," she said, as Mina hugged me from the side, and Tsu and shoko appeared beside them.

"How are you guys here?" I asked.

"Momo invited us. We wanted to surprise you, but it looks like you had a surprise for us," Mina replied.

"I assume these are your friends?" Melissa asked.

"Yes. To introduce everyone properly: this is my harem—Ochaco Uraraka, Momo Yaoyorozu, Kyoka Jiro, Tsuyu Asui, Mina Ashido, Toru Hagakure, and Shoto Todoroki. Some of the others aren't here at the moment," I explained, trying to be transparent rather than hiding the truth until late.

"Wow, you're pretty popular. Want to go get something to eat so I can get to know everyone better?" she suggested. We left and sat together at a nearby café, chatting while the others relaxed nearby.

The girls' table.

"How would you describe your experience with Midoriya?" Melissa asked, curious about why so many girls liked him.

"He's kind and courageous," Momo replied.

"He's willing to risk his life for someone he barely knows, like he did with me during the entrance exam," Ochaco added.

"He's quick to think and handles situations with a calm and analytical approach," Tsu commented.

"He's not bad at guitar either. He makes an effort to be a good boyfriend," Jiro said with a small smile.

"He's the first to notice when I enter a room, and he tries to make me feel seen even when I feel invisible. That makes me happy," Toru shared.

" can you help me get through the trauma of my past and To give me the light of hope that wouldn't be like my father."said Shoko a small smile on her lips

"He's really gentle when he wants to be, and if you like, he can definitely..." Before she finished, Momo quickly covered her mouth.

"That's so inappropriate," Momo blushed and stopped her.

"Wait, so you've been intimate with him?" Melissa looked surprised.

"No, Mia has, and one other person, but that's it," Tsu clarified.

"Why haven't the rest?" Melissa pressed.

"He wanted us to take things at our own pace. Some move faster than others," Momo explained.
