Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Training

After the children briefly got to know each other, Director Eleanor said to Oliver, "Oliver, take Eddie to his room. I'll prepare some things for him."

"I understand!" Oliver said to Director Eleanor in a joking manner.

"Brother Eddie, come with me!" As he said this, he jumped in front to lead the way for Eddie.

Because communication was not smooth, Eddie did not speak much, and Oliver was the only one chattering. When he arrived at the door of the room, he opened it skillfully.

"Look, here it is. Max and I cleaned this room together!" Oliver said proudly.

"Thank you." Eddie thanked him gratefully. He took a quick look at the room, which was indeed very clean and tidy. Although there were not many furnishings in the room, everything that was necessary was there, and it was obvious that it had been prepared in advance.

After Eddie finished touring the room, Oliver looked at Selene and asked curiously, "Brother Eddie, is this your Pokémon?"

Is my mother my Pokémon? I think so, right? Eddie nodded reluctantly.

"This is the first time I've seen Pokémon so close! It's amazing!" Oliver stared at Selene with envy. However, although he has a lively personality, he behaves very tactfully and does not rashly approach Selene.

"Brother Eddie, why are you always silent?"

Seeing that Eddie either nodded or shook his head but said nothing, Oliver asked in confusion. Eddie gave him the impression that he was not difficult to get along with.

At this time, Director Eleanor came in and happened to hear what Oliver said, so she told him: "Brother Eddie rarely interacted with people before, so he hasn't learned how to speak yet. You and Max can teach him more often."

"Okay, leave it to us!"

Although Oliver thought it was a bit strange that Eddie was still unable to learn to speak at this age, he still agreed readily and felt happy to be able to help the director.

Director Eleanor put the things in her arms on Eddie's bed, and then explained to him: "These clothes and daily necessities belonged to Eli before. He doesn't need them now. I saw that you didn't have much luggage, so I found them all."

Eddie said gratefully, "Thank you." This is really timely help.

Director Eleanor shook her head and said, "You're welcome. They're all old stuff. I'm glad you don't mind. We don't have a lot of money here, so many things can't be bought just because we want to."

Eddie nodded to show his understanding. Even if the clothes were old, it was still better than wearing leaves on the deserted island.

In this way, Eddie settled down in the Bluebird Orphanage. The children in the orphanage were very well-behaved and expressed a warm welcome to Eddie's arrival.

At noon he also saw two other children - Daisy and Eli.

Daisy is usually taken care of by Max, a very cute little girl, like an exquisite porcelain doll. However, according to Director Eleanor, the child has a problem with her throat and may not be able to speak in the future.

Eli is a thin boy, one year older than Eddie, but about the same height as Eddie.

He has a somewhat cold personality and doesn't like to talk much, but he is very polite in his behavior and has a fairly good attitude towards Eddie. He even went to Eddie's room and said hello to him after returning from school. At noon, Director Eleanor specially prepared a sumptuous lunch to celebrate Eddie's joining the Bluebird Orphanage.

The orphanage usually eats simple food, so it's rare to have a good meal, and everyone is very happy. The silly Arthor even said, "It would be great if Brother Eddie could join us every day."

Everyone found this funny and a little sad. At this time, Eddie was extremely glad that Gyarados didn't follow him back, otherwise, how could he support him in this situation?

Two months passed in a flash, and Eddie had completely adapted to life in the Bluebird Orphanage.

Although life here is not rich, it is much better than when he was on the island. Moreover, the relationship between everyone here is very harmonious. Although the days are dull, they are peaceful and harmonious.

During this period, Officer Jenny and Captain Sanders came to see Eddie and brought him a lot of daily necessities. Especially Officer Jenny, she knew that Eddie was accompanied by Selene, so she specially gave Eddie a can of energy cubes.

In fact, the mainstream food for Pokémon in the Kalos region is Pokémon food, but Pokémon food is not easy to store and will easily deteriorate after a few days, so Officer Jenny gave energy cubes instead.

Seeing that Eddie had adapted well to the Bluebird Orphanage, Officer Jenny and Captain Sanders left with peace of mind.

Eddie did a lot of things in these months.

Every day he helps Director Eleanor with housework, and uses his free time to learn the language of this world and train Selene.

In learning the new language, Oliver and the other children helped him a lot. Not only did they respond to his requests, but they also pointed out and corrected his pronunciation mistakes in time.

It is precisely because of this that Eddie has made great progress in language communication in the past two months. Now he can roughly understand what others say even without the help of Selene's translation, but he still stutters when he speaks himself.

In terms of training Selene, Eddie has made new discoveries, thanks to the can of energy cubes given by Officer Jenny.

He had previously discovered that Pokémon would automatically absorb special energy free in the air and store it in the body to form the Pokémon's own original energy.

But after Selene ate the energy cube, Eddie was surprised to find that the energy cube was much more efficient in increasing the Pokémon's original energy than absorbing it from the air autonomously.

Therefore, if Selene wants to become stronger quickly, she must use energy cubes or food such as Pokémon food for a long time to assist in training.

But all this requires money, and this is exactly what Eddie lacks the most.

To be honest, Eddie hasn't yet decided what he will do in this Pokémon world in the future.

Although it is not urgent for an eight-year-old to consider this issue, he is not really an eight-year-old, so it is important to make plans for the future as early as possible.

However, no matter what career he chooses to pursue in the future, he will not give up on training Selene.

On the one hand, it is related to his own ability to survive, and on the other hand, Selene is his mother. He does not want his mother to be a weak being who cannot protect herself and cannot withstand hardships.

Because of the existence of special creatures like Pokémon, this world cannot be safe everywhere, and you may encounter danger one day.

Fortunately, his golden finger is very powerful. After a period of continuous purification and condensation, the original energy in Selene's body has been greatly improved in both quality and purity, and its combat effectiveness has also been significantly improved accordingly.

The problem is that her ability to control her own original energy is too weak.

That day Eddie decided to go out and test Selene's fighting ability, so he shouted:

"Selene, come out with me!"

Selene was watching TV with Max and others in the living room at this time. When she heard Eddie calling her, she stood up reluctantly.

Television is a new thing for Selene who has just come into contact with the human world. So during this period of time, Selene has been addicted to television and cannot extricate herself. She can watch even a commercial with gusto.

The discomfort caused by Eddie's sudden shouting at this moment was almost the same as being woken up by noise early in the morning.

"Brother Eddie, are you going out?" Max turned around and asked.

Eddie nodded and answered word by word: "In the back...in the woods...be back before dinner."

"Oh, I'll tell the director, be careful out there." Max understood what he meant immediately.

Just like that, Eddie took Selene out.

The forest that Eddie mentioned was just behind the hillside not far from the Bluebird Orphanage. According to Eli, Pokémon often appeared there, so he planned to try his luck today.

After climbing over the hillside, Eddie saw a small forest not far away. He ran there with Selene and found several Fletchling playing on the branches in the forest.

The Fletchling are not afraid of humans. When they saw Eddie and Selene approaching, they looked at each other curiously and showed no sign of flying away.

"Little Fletchling, can I discuss something with you?" Eddie asked cautiously, fearing that he would scare the other party away.

"Yeah?"

The Fletchling closest to Eddie and Selene tilted its head in confusion.

Eddie continued: "I would like to invite you to have a battle with my Gardevoir."

Originally, Eddie thought that it would take some effort to persuade the Fletchling, but he didn't expect that the Fletchling was actually a fighting maniac and nodded in agreement.

After finding a piece of open space, Eddie asked the Fletchling and Selene to stand on both sides of the space respectively, and then he stood outside to act as a referee. He had no intention of commanding Selene.

"If you are ready, the battle begins now!"

"Ah~~~"

As Eddie gave the signal, the excited Fletchling took the lead in launching an attack. It was very fast and turned into a beam of white light and crashed into Selene.

A Quick Attack!

In a hurry, Selene used her most powerful skill, Psychic. A blue light flashed in her eyes, and the sprinting Fletchling was instantly fixed in mid-air.

The island where Eddie and his friends used to live was a place without any dangers, and there were not many Pokémon on the island, so Selene had always lived a muddled life. This resulted in not only a low combat power, but also few skills.

After repeated verification, combined with his previous life's knowledge of Pokémon, Eddie roughly knew that Selene's skills included Psychic, Magical Leaf, Mystical Fire, and Healing Pulse. But the only ones she could really use smoothly were Psychic and Healing Pulse.

Selene is able to use Psychic skillfully because when he was on the island, she often used Psychic to pick fruits from the trees; she is able to use Healing Pulse skillfully because the Pokémon on the island would often come to her for treatment after being injured in fights.

As for Magical Leaf and Mystical Fire, two skills with more powerful attack power, they were abandoned because they were not used normally.

"Ya-gu~Ya-gu~Ya-gu~"

The captured Fletchling flapped its wings frantically, trying to break free from the restraint of Psychic, but it was thrown out the next second.

piaji~

The Fletchling crashed into a tree not far away and fainted.

Uh~ This Fletchling was defeated so quickly that Eddie didn't have time to react.

However, Selene is the final evolved Pokémon after all. Its basic abilities are much higher than those of a Fletchling. It has also been cultivated by Eddie with the cheat code for several months. It is understandable that its strength is slightly stronger than that of the wild Fletchling.

This wave is completely about level crushing, nothing else matters.

Eddie walked to the Fletchling, picked it up from the ground, and then input his golden finger energy into its body. Soon the Fletchling woke up with a comfortable look on its face.

"Ah~Gu~" It's so~comfortable~

"Little Fletchling, are you okay?" Eddie asked.

"Ah, ah..."

The Fletchling jumped up and stood on Eddie's palm, jumping up and down.

Eddie continued to use his golden finger to help Fletchling sort out the source energy in its body, and at the same time said to it: "Little Fletchling, it's a bit difficult for you to deal with my Selene alone, why don't you call all your friends and attack Selene together. After we're done, I'll help you sort out the energy in your body, okay?"

Still coming? Selene, who was standing by, was a little unhappy when she heard this, but she didn't dare to refute.

Really! I am the mother, Eddie should listen to me!

The old mother's family status is not optimistic.

"Ya-gu~Ya-gu~" Okay, okay! You wait, I'll be back soon.

The Fletchling agreed quickly.

Sure enough, after a while the Fletchling came back, followed by a dozen other Fletchling of similar size.

However, the Fletchling that came later were not as easily fooled as the one at the beginning. They collectively asked to experience the "health care" first. If the effect was really as good as the first Fletchling said, then they were willing to help.

Okay, okay... Eddie was helpless. He really didn't want to suffer any loss.

So all the Fletchling experienced the pleasure of "great health care". The indescribable moans in the woods became louder and louder. I wondered if someone was doing this... that... that to the Pokémon in this forest.

After understanding the benefits of "health care", the Fletchling could no longer refuse Eddie's proposal and had to stay together to work for Eddie as working birds.

In this way, Selene began her training journey of fighting against a group of Fletchling alone.

Selene, who is only proficient in using Psychic as an attack skill, has too simple attack methods, so Eddie requires her to use Magical Leaf and Mystical Fire at the right time when being besieged by the Fletchling, and not to use only Psychic as a skill.

Selene's level is indeed higher than that of the Fletchling, but it is not necessarily better than them in the use of skills. In addition, she has never been besieged by so many Pokémon before. She was in a panic for a while and soon became embarrassed.

On the other hand, the Fletchling, although they looked very embarrassed, were all full of fighting spirit. Even if they were beaten by Selene again and again, they would still rush forward without hesitation.

I have to say that these Fletchling are all capable birds. As long as they are paid, they are willing to be beaten or scolded.
