Chapter 5 - The vision

Devin took only five minutes to return with a cover full of ice-creams and chocolates. Yul took the cover and placed it in front of Liya and Inu. He then said calmly, "Eat this and relax, you both. I never intended to scare you. We will talk after you eat this."

But how could Liya trust Yul's words. No matter what, she will not let her son out of her hands. She sat there itself without moving.

Yul understood it and decided to take the matter into his hands. He went and picked up Liya and Inu together and brought them to their bed. Liya was shocked by the move. But before she could react, Yul placed them carefully on the bed. Liya moved to the back of the bed with Inu the next instant.

Yul picked up the cover and opened an ice-cream box from it. He put a spoon into it and held it in front of Inu. Inu was still hugging Liya tightly without even looking up.

Yul then said to Liya, "You saw how I opened it now, right? It's not tampered. Have this."

Liya was still not taking it nor did Inu turn his head to front. Seeing this, Yul sat on one end of the bed and took a bit from it. He said kindly, "Take it Inu. You will surely like this. I never meant to scare you. And I will never take you from your mother. So take this, will you?"

Seeing no reaction from Inu, Yul looked at Liya to do something. Liya was surprised to hear what Yul just said though she knew she can't trust him. If such was the case why go through all these fight right now? And why say such a thing to Inu? To let her guards down? To snatch Inu from her hands? All kind of doubts flashed through Liya's mind and she held Inu more firmly.

Yul extended the ice-cream towards Liya and signalled her to take it. She knew how scared Inu was, and something sweet could surely help. So she decided to wait and see how the situation was going to unfold and hesitantly took the ice-cream. She ate a bit from it to show Inu and then took a spoonful out again. She kept the spoon in front of Inu and said, "Hmm… such a sweet ice-cream… Don't Inu want it? It's chocolate, your favourite… If Inu doesn't want it, then momma will eat it full. Should I...?" Though Inu hesitated, on seeing how his mother ate it, he started to have the ice-cream that Liya fed him.

Devin saw how the scene changed quickly. Now they were acting like a family of three, eating from the same bowl. He was itching to tell about this to his girlfriend, so he took a photo of them in secret.

After few minutes, Liya placed Inu carefully on the bed and stood up. She wiped her tears and was ready to talk now.

Yul also stood up and spoke first. He said, "Though I don't want to scare you, you should know that I can get things done in my way too. I don't care about your reasons for lying about Yaniv. But we both know what the truth is. You don't stand a chance if I take this to the court and you might even end up losing Inu forever." Yul paused and Liya looked at him on hearing the last part. But before she said anything he continued, "I can see that you two can't be separated, nor am I that cruel to separate a child from his mom. So this is the last option we have – you should marry me and move with Inu to my house."

Liya didn't register what Yul had just said. She asked, "What did you say?"

"Actually ma'am I had come up with two arrangements. The first one was to compensate you with money and take only Inu back. The second one was in case you didn't agree to give Inu to us, which is what boss just said. But before I could inform you about these, you guys started to argue and then the fight and the knife and… you know…" Devin said everything in a single breath.

Liya looked at Devin and then at Yul in astonishment. She wanted to ask if they were trying to say that everything was her fault, but didn't dare to. Instead she stood silently thinking what to do next.

"Since you insist on not recognizing Yaniv, I will assume that what happened between you two was just a mistake. Whatever it was I don't care. All I want is, to bring Inu back, and if you want to stay with Inu, then you will have to marry me and become my legal wife. I will sort out the rest. I will make sure not to make your relation with Yaniv come out to public and you and Inu will stay as my wife and son." Yul was very straight forward with the plans.

As expected of a seasoned businessman, he laid out his deal in front of Liya. The only exception was that Liya had only one choice to choose and there was no chance for backing off.

Looking at a stunned Liya he continued, "You only have this option if you want to stay with Inu. So think wisely and inform me by tomorrow."

Devin took out their name cards and placed it on the table nearby. Yul looked at Liya again who was still thinking and then at Inu who was on his way to finish the ice-cream. Then he walked towards the door after Devin. On the way out Yul asked, "Did you offend anyone? Or are you in debt?"

Liya heard what Yul had asked, but it took her a moment to answer. She said, "No. I am not. Why?"

"Then, who are these people watching you? They have been here, these past days, whenever we came. You have no idea about it?" Yul asked.

Liya only realized now that it wasn't Yul's people that were watching her. Though she could guess who, she lied. She replied, "I don't know anything. I thought it was your men, weren't they?"

Yul heard it and his forehead wrinkled on thinking about it. He instructed Devin to watch Liya and Inu. Without saying anything more to Liya they left.
