With Prince Silvan's departure, Verenzio, the butler, led Prince Alessio further down the hallway to his rooms.
"Are there any connecting rooms in the mansion?" Alessio asked in a small voice.
Verenzio received the question with calm, "There are, Your Highness. Would you prefer I change your rooms?"
"No, no," Alessio refused hastily, waving his hands in a panic. "I was merely curious."
Verenzio didn't push, gesturing to the next set of doors they came across. "Your rooms, Your Highness."
Alessio right away darted through the doors, his face burning. Previously, he would have made the arrangements for them to stay closer without much thought, but Silvan had to kiss him, and now everything felt like a double entendre.
Verenzio bowed to the closed door and walked off, his monocle reflecting the candlelight brightening up the hallway. He stopped at Prince Silvan's door, knocking politely. The door was opened in a short time like the human Prince had dashed across his room.
