The peaceful sound of rainfall would make anyone fall asleep but it was different from Lilian, she was fully awake studying for the upcoming scholars competition. Lilian has won many awards right from childhood both for beauty and academic recognition, student of the year, best brain child, beauty queen, young artistic awards and so on.
**Knock on the door**
Lilian: come in
Rose Lillian's mom: Good morning sweetie. How was your night?
Lilian: Good morning mum, my night was good. But if you want to tell me about dad not wanting to go to school today due to rainfall then is a no from me.
Rose: Lilian you know how your father is he will be annoyed with you.
Lilian: don't worry I'll talk to him besides the weather is not that bad I need to go so I can practice for the scholars competition, you know this is my final year in high school before moving to college I just want to win an award to the school name.
Rose: that very good of you, oh well I wish you the best.
**Rose left**
Lilian: oh is almost 6 o clock let me get ready for school.
** Dishes are served by 7.30am in the Hart's mansion thus everyone is downstairs eating before Lilian join in**
Joshua (Lilian junior brother): no way, you're on your school uniform don't make this day boring for me please?
Lilian: meaning what? You don't like to study doesn't mean others don't like it.
Joshua: whatever, I'll be the best basketball player to ever exist.
Lilian: your choice. Anyways, where's dad?
Annabel: he's in the study (with a soto voice)
**Silence occurred around the dinning for seconds**
Joshua: what's wrong some one in a mood.
Lilian: yeah Annabel what's wrong?
Annabel: don't act like you don't know
Lilian: yeah, seriously I don't.
Annabelle: well (stop eating) my boyfriend david broke up with me and told me to be more like you.
Lilian: and how is it my fault?
Annabelle: you know what Lillian the reason why you will never have real friends is because of your show off attitude, **( Rose and rachel walks in and saw Annabel in a fiery mood and they stood still watching her)** you are never wrong no way Lilian Noel hart is never wrong she is smart, beautiful, intelligent and selfish!
Rachel: if your boyfriend said you should learn something from her then you should ( with a devious smile)
** Annabel walks out from the dinning, Rachel laughing at her, Joshua yelling at her name**
Rose: why are you calling her, its obvious she doesn't want to have breakfast.
Joshua: okay mom stop please stop Rachel!
Rachel: what? I did nothing wrong
Lilian: yeah Rachel did nothing but telling her the truth straight up. If she has a problem with her boyfriend let her sought it without involving me.
Joshua: look I know it sounds awful but for Annabelle's sake just talk to her boyfriend and find a way to stop all....
Rose: what did you just say?
Rachel: no way, she's not saying thing to David before Annabel say something else about her.
Joshua: but.....
Rose: Lilian hurry up to school you're almost late.
Lilian: right.
**Lilian left for school**
** Annabel walk to her room and shut the door before crying remembering David's hurtful words towards her, she went to see David play for the football match against the scorpions but his team eventually failed the match by 2-1 defeat. After the match she went to see David but notice how his friends stare at her, some even laugh at her, she was wondering what's wrong but she ignored them and went to David.
Annabelle: hey, sorry you lost the game I'm sure you guys will do better next time.
**Silence**
Annabelle: David come on, I know you're not happy about the game but the attitude is too much.
David: what is it?! What is it Annabelle huh?! What are you doing here? Your presence irritates me to the core your just boring to be in a relationship with and you dare show your stupid face to me again.
Annabelle: David what's wrong? ( with a almost teary voice, she tries to touch him but he refuse and almost pushed her to the floor, he's friends where there watching. Shock written all over her face)
Raymond: David come on, man please stop this.
David: I don't want this relationship anymore, is as boring as fuck, no sex, no kisses like gosh what are you? The reason I even agreed to stay with you is so I can get close to Lilian I mean she's hot, sexy and classy
**pause for a minute **
You should learn something from her because with this your attitude of being virgin Mary you will never I mean ever get married.
Annabelle: Enough! You know what David you're wrong and I promise you, you're gonna regret it when you turn miserable.
**she walks away not minding his friends laughing at her, but Raymond didn't laugh rather he feels disgusted by David's attitude towards her **
Raymond: bro that's not cool
Simeon: who cares? She's not anyone's spec.
** Raymond ignores them and went to look for Annabelle he saw her crying outside the field, everyone has left by then and he gently taped on her shoulder **
Raymond: look, I know you feel hurt but don't be too hard on yourself, just be who you are don't listen to David he will surely regret his actions.
**after sobbing for minutes **
Annabelle: yeah, you're kinda of different, thanks for the advice, she stood up and walked away.
**Flash back ends**
**she wipe her tears aways and wash her face applying light makeup pick up her bag and went off to school. Annabelle is the first child in the harts family, her mom Laura died in a car accident when she was just a kid, her dad Mr noel got married to rose her step mum and she gave birth to Rachel, Lilian and then joshua. Since her dad got married to rose his a different person all together the level of love and affection towards her changes, he hardly gives her money expect she begs him to and he will confirm from joshua or Lilian if they are bills to pay in school, she living like a slave in her father's house. Her step mom made her dad believe that everything she needed is at home, she doesn't need money to buy anything, so she won't misuse the privilege but her kids receive over 25,000 dollars as a stipends every month, Lilian shows up to school with expensive brand bags, clothes and jewelries every week, Rachel goes shopping and even buys things for her friends also pay to attend famous celebrities concert and joshua bought tickets for a basketball game every weekend, she's the only one that have nothing to herself that some even doubt if she's from the harts family as they are know to be rich and successful including Lillian's amazing achievements, if not for the fact that her dad came to school to watch her or probably Lilian in competitions and parents of the participants were required to take a photo with their kids no one would believe that she was from the harts family. She came out second in the competition but no one care about it as everyone was obsessed with Lilian coming in first place it was only joshua who congratulate her as both members of the harts family steal the show and top positions, but she was certain that Lilian answer to that particular question was not 100 percent correct and each time she tries to challenge Lilian answers in a competition, the judges acts differently and won't give her a chance to speak they would immediately crown Lilian as the winner, it happen at some point rose accuse her of being jealous and over dramatic towards Lilian and her dad stop her from participating in competitions telling her no need that Lilian is there to take care of everything to come first place as the second place is not really necessary, it hurt her so much but she has no other choice than to back out some times she feels like running away from home**
** Lilian shows up to school wearing a Celine top and shorts, Dior makeup, bags and shoes. All eyes were on her the girls were all jealous and the boys were in awe, one thing for sure is that Lilian likes attention**
David: oh, good day my lovely princess I bought you flowers.
Lilian: why? what for?
David: you don't like them I'll get you another, what's your favorite flower?
Lilian: David please stop, I don't need your flowers, you should give them to Annabel.
** David hissed **
David: come on Lilian you know I've liked you ever since, Annabel was just a distraction in fact she was the one throwing herself on me.
Lilian: and you couldn't avoid her?
David: come on lily, annabel can never be your class you're the IT girl the number one girl. With you and me.....
** he held her hands **

** at this point Lilian was blushing that David caught a smile on her lips, but she immediately changes her expression, she loves attention so much**
Lilian: whatever, I'm going to class
David: we are in the same class, I'll just be your security to guard you to class.
Lilian: my securities are outside

**With almost pleading voice, Lillian just sigh and they both walk to class together, when they arrive David draw out the chair for Lillian to seat and then sits beside her, the whole classroom was just staring at him, Annabel was there but she tried her best not to pay attention to them, she heard the whispers I thought he was with Annabel what happened, Lillian has charmed him Annabel should fight for her man. Mr Jacob walked into the class and begins lecture through out the lecture David rubs his legs on Lillian's even when she told him to stop he'll do it later on saying lecture is boring let's do something fun and the last one he did caught Mr Jacob's attention and he called on the both of them.**
Mr Jacob: Miss Lilian and Mr David stand up please, could you explain to the entire classroom what's so important that you both can pay attention to the lesson going on? I thought you are in the scholars competition Miss Lillian? Is this how you portray to win the competition?
Lilian: sir actually... we are just... talking about a...toms, atoms, atoms yes. ** with a stamering voice**
Mr jacob: oh really? And you can't wait after class. Who was the first person discovered out about atoms? Mr David
David: hmmmm... Well arr...

**Lillian was just staring at her wickedly**
Annabel: well if I understand the question correctly it says who was the first person to discover an atom

** it was a lie, Annabel would have loved to but she was obeying her father's command**
Mr Jacob: oh well if you say so, but it doesn't really stop you from writing your exams perfectly. Lillian and David you both sit down and pay attention this time, and Lillian make your information and facts are well detailed and don't be in a hurry to answer questions take your time to think.
**At this point Lillian feels like walking away from class and it was an Annabel's fault, she felt like giving her a dirty slap because she felt ashamed but since they were in school she needs to maintain her good composure till they get home. After the class they went for break **
Britney: hey wait up Annabel, I heard what happened in chemistry class today and it was lit ** she said with a happy smile **
Maureen: sure it was, is all over school.
**Annabel smiled, she knew they where talking about what happened between her and Lillian **
Annabel: well one thing for sure is my class mates have loud mouth.
Maureen: oh God I wish I was offering chemistry just to see this drama.
Britney: don't be ridiculous
Annabel: oh please let's order for food I'm starving.
** they order food in the cafeteria after getting their dishes served they were eating when Lilian walked up to Annabel**
Lilian: I would like to speak to you alone Annabel **with a harsh voice**
Maureen: you can say anything you want to right here or you wait cause we're eating.
Lilian: mind your business and stay in your place.
Annabel: guys it's okay.
**she stood up and walked to Lilian and they both stayed under the willow tree**
Annabel: what is it?
Lilian: I know you must be happy because of the silly praises Mr Jacob applaud to you early this morning. But let me warn you if you continue this game, I'll make dad believe you're trying something funny again maybe because you have a personal driver now you feel that you are on top the world well let me tell you I can make you go back to taking taxi to school every morning. You should be happy that you are graced on going to the same school with Lilian Noel hart queens high school is not for riff rats like you, just look at the way you dress oh God this school is meant for stars like me, like Rachel, like Joshua, not you Annabel I don't know why daddy brought you here I hope that same mistake won't happen in college.
Annabel: are you done? can I go back now?
Lilian: oh I see, ** she smiled devilish **
Maybe you did all these things because of David right,you wanna get back at me for taking David from you **at this point Annabel was no longer smiling as she kept a stern face** oh anny, is a non stressful thing to me my presence, my looks my beauty alone can attract 100 of guys and still counting but you, you couldn't even keep one
**Annabel walks away from her and went back to her friends, Lillian on the other hand was happy for hurting Annabel high spirit since she feels she better than her **
Britney: what did she say to you?
Maureen: not something good I must say.
Annabel: well yeah, she's just trying too hard to hurt me and make me feel less better of myself the worst part is that my own father can't do anything about it.
Maureen: I've told you to come leave with me, and to stay away from that house I don't want them to poison you.
Annabel: I understand Maureen but the last I came my father didn't take it lightly with me he literally accused your father of kidnapping me if not that I was a teen adult that your poor father would have been arrested because of me.
Maureen: just know that I'll be there to help you.
Britney: also me.
**Lilian went to the library to study for the up coming competition when David snuck in and tap her shoulder **
Lilian: are you stupid or something?
David: oh sorry my bad, I didn't mean to hurt you my queen.
Lilian: it was because you Annabel feels that she could feels that she can make me a laughing stock in front of everyone.
David: my queen I'm sorry I've already apologize, I promise I won't distract you
Lilian: you're a fool do you know that, right now I'm in the library reading for the scholars competition before my teammates gets here and you came in here to distract me.
David: well I'm sorry...
Lilian: get lost!!
** David left and in few minutes her teammates about 4 of them came to her**
Crystal: hello I'm crystal
Ruby: I'm Rubby
William: I'm William nice to meet you
George I'm george
Rubby: were your teams mates for the scholars competition.
William: we came for a joint reading group.
Lillian: okay, I've heard all that you said, but the thing is I don't do joint reading or what so ever I'm solo, just so you know on that day of the competition you're on your own nothing like group to me.
** she walks out on them **
George: Jesus christ why is she so rude?
Ruby: I've always heard rumors about her being so rude but this is too much.
Crystal: let's leave.
**back at home Joshua was playing basketball when Annabel walked up to him**
Annabel: hey, the next lebron James.
Joshua: glad to see your mood lighting
Annabel: I wanted to apologize for what happened earlier.
Joshua: look you don't need to apologize, besides I warned you concerning David he's a very cunning guy, even Lilian shouldn't be closed to him.
Annabel: yeah I wish I listen to you I wouldn't be in this mess.
**Joshua held her hand and pull her close for a hug, Rachel saw them and fake a cough**
Annabel: I'll see you later Josh.
Rachel: I hope is not what I'm thinking.
Joshua: what you're thinking matters to you not me.
Rachel: Joshua do you like Annabel?
Joshua: yeah of course she's my sister
Rachel: not that, like as in you desire her.
Joshua: Rachel I don't like all these.
Rachel: anyways just know she still your sister at least step sister.
**Rachel walks out. Immediately she left Joshua sat on the bench, he remembered annabel's sixteen birthday when he wished her happy birthday and bought gifts for her she hugged him and was equally crying because no one aside from him and nanny olivia that have ever cared or celebrated on her birthday. When she hugged him he felt this warmth in within himself. He's in love with Annabel but he tries he best to avoid showing it. When Annabel told him about David he felt as if he was dying inside but kept a happy face to make her smile but deep down he wished he would let her know his feelings but is a sin**
