Her blunt words made the corner of Chase's lips twitch. Sebastian stared at his friend, silently signalling him to get used to it.
"Do you mind moving over?" Lillian asked. "I want to sit beside Sebastian."
Chase obediently scooted over and raised his hand, letting Sebastian know how she was all his.
"I am here now," Lillian said, "are you going to take me to your grandfather's birthday tomorrow?"
Everyone leaned in to get a closer hearing into their conversation. It was not everyday someone amongst their worthless friend group got a chance to have conversation with prim and proper Lillian Chen.
"I never asked you to come over," Sebastian pointed out. Reaching out into his pocket, he took out his cigarette.
When Lillian frowned at the stick, he placed it down on the table.
"Isn't that what you meant by keeping me hanging? You want me to chase you," Lillian said, leaning closer to him.
