Chapter 8 - Second Godhead

After settling various affairs and delegating resources to his subordinates, Su Xingyu finally let out a long sigh of relief. The weight on his shoulders lightened, and for the first time in days, he felt truly relaxed.

I used to think ancient emperors had it easy, he mused. Three thousand beauties in the harem, everything at their command with a single word. That was supposed to be a godlike life.

But after managing the Night Tribe for a while, Su Xingyu had completely changed his mind.

This kind of life isn't meant for mortals. I'm on the move from morning to night, handling everything from petty disputes to grand decisions. It's far more exhausting than school ever was.

Still, there was a silver lining. The elders he had personally selected were talented and capable. They had undergone systematic training in governance and were now able to handle routine affairs on their own.

When he first arrived in this world, it had been chaos.

"Oh, I need to find a replacement for myself fast. How long can this go on?"

In the empty conference room, Su Xingyu slumped in his chair, utterly drained.

Compared to being a patriarch, he would much rather be a god. Gods didn't worry about daily logistics. They simply issued oracles at key moments, shaping events with divine influence.

Unfortunately, that luxury was out of reach. The Ye Tribe had grown too large. If he withdrew now, it wouldn't just halt their expansion—it might not even survive as it was.

After a short nap in the conference room, Su Xingyu roused himself and left. A quarter of an hour later, he arrived at a square-shaped building guarded by a group of soldiers.

The moment they saw him, they stepped forward and saluted. "Hello, Chief!"

"Thank you for your hard work," Su Xingyu replied, nodding as he pushed open the door and stepped inside.

The interior was cavernous and nearly bare. A single spacious hall stretched ahead, and in its center floated a blue crystal, roughly the size of a clenched fist.

As Su Xingyu approached, a stream of information appeared before his eyes—visible only to him:

[Divine Domain Building: Level 2 Infantry Battalion]

Activation Requirements:

World Origin ×500

God's Domain Blueprint: Level 2 Infantry Battalion ×1

God's Origin ×1000

Building of at least 200 square meters

Activate Divine Domain Building – Yes/No?

Without hesitation, Su Xingyu chose Yes. Instantly, the blue crystal flared with intense white light. He reflexively closed his eyes against the brilliance.

When the light faded and he reopened them, he found himself in an enormous, radiant space.

[Second-Tier Infantry Battalion]

Category: Divine Domain BuildingEffect: Rapid mastery of infantry fundamentals; enhanced coordination and unit synergyMaximum Capacity: 1/10,000Requirement: Level 2 WarriorEnergy Consumption: 100 Divine Energy/day

"Not bad, though the upkeep is a bit steep," he muttered.

The Night Tribe already had one divine building—a Level 1 Cavalry Battalion capable of training true cavalry, not just mounted infantry.

Learning to ride was easy. Mastering cavalry tactics was another story.

After exiting the training space, Su Xingyu made his way to another facility and activated the Level 2 Cavalry Battalion as well.

Once both divine buildings were functioning, he headed toward the heart of the tribe, where the Spirit Gathering Tree he had planted days ago now stood at an impressive three meters tall.

Even in the depths of winter, its leaves remained vibrant and green. Su Xingyu could feel the surrounding spiritual energy surge around him—nearly three times denser than in other parts of the tribe.

As the name suggested, the Spirit Gathering Tree concentrated ambient spiritual energy, and the effect was significant. The only downside was its limited range.

At its current stage, it only radiated its power within a radius of twenty meters.

He motioned for the soldiers training nearby to clear the area. The moment they left, a silver-white vortex-shaped mark appeared on Su Xingyu's forehead, pulsing with arcane energy.

Extending his right hand, he gently touched the tree's trunk with his fingers.

A stream of energy surged through him. A message echoed in his mind.

Good fortune!

The tree trembled violently.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—

Green leaves cascaded from its branches, only to be instantly replaced by fresh, tender shoots. The Spirit Gathering Tree began growing at a pace visible to the naked eye. In just moments, it had shot up another half-meter—and showed no signs of slowing.

Su Xingyu felt the mysterious energy within him plummet by nearly one-fifth. He winced, then patted the tree's bark with an exhausted sigh.

"I've already fed you twice. If there's still no improvement, I'll have to cut off your rations. I don't have the resources to waste. We've grown too large, and too many things need reinforcement."

The tree vibrated even harder, almost as if it understood his warning.

Su Xingyu grinned but didn't dwell on the reaction. With a thought, he concealed the silvery mark once more.

Within his spiritual sea of consciousness, an ethereal silver crystal spun in silence.

His godhead.

A conceptual entity, not a physical one.

Su Xingyu had two godheads in total. One, a dark godhead granted by the system. The other, this mysterious silver godhead whose origins remained unknown.

This silver divine power was his true golden finger—his ace.

The godhead granted him access to a unique function: Creation.

Through his own experimentation, Su Xingyu had discovered two effects of this ability. First, it could awaken ancestral bloodlines. Second, it could induce mutations in plants, drastically accelerating their growth.

But the cost was steep. Each use consumed a massive amount of mysterious energy, and the regeneration rate of that energy was painfully slow. That made conservation crucial if he wanted to make the most of it.

After boosting the Spirit Gathering Tree, Su Xingyu left it alone. Experience told him that plants, especially rare ones like this, rarely mutated further in a short period.

Next, he headed for the prepared spiritual field.

[Blood Spirit Flower]Growth Cycle: 12 monthsDescription: A flower containing pure blood essence. Can be consumed directly or processed into medicine.

From his bag, Su Xingyu pulled out a large bundle of Blood Spirit Flower seeds. Activating the silver godhead once more, he channeled its power into the seeds, initiating a full-strength mutation process.

Though individually insignificant, the sheer number of seeds rapidly drained the last of his mysterious energy.

But the results were worth it.

[Mutated Blood Flower]Growth Cycle: 3 monthsDescription: Contains purified blood essence. Can be consumed or refined into medicine. Rare chance to purify bloodline.

The growth cycle had been slashed to a quarter of the original time. Not only that, the flowers now held the potential to purify bloodlines—a rare and valuable trait.

"Plant all of these. Assign caretakers to monitor their development carefully. If anything changes, I want to know immediately."

He handed the seeds to the herb cultivators nearby.

These weren't ordinary seeds. He had bought them in the City of Gods at considerable expense. Had the original growth cycle not been so long, or the seller not desperate for divine origin, Su Xingyu would never have been able to afford so many.

"Don't worry, Patriarch," the elderly man beside him said excitedly. "I've been planting spiritual herbs my entire life. I swear to complete this mission without fail!"

Su Xingyu narrowed his eyes and gave him a meaningful glance. "The king is watching you."

"Praise the King!" the old man declared, eyes blazing with zeal.
