Chapter 703 - SFDI: Chapter 703

Drake hadn't expected Saturn, that old geezer, to summon reinforcements so soon after the fight began.

Indeed, he was still too young, unlike these old guys who had no bottom line. However, Drake was quite interested in their method of appearance.

Despite being the Ox-Ghost, a yokai from an island nation, they used a magic circle from Western mythology. It was incredibly incongruous.

In the original story, because Vegapunk broadcasted his research findings on history to the entire world, the Five Elders also decided to act together. The result was that they instantly arrived at Egghead from Mary Geoise through the same method.

Including Saturn in the original story, he emerged from a magic circle upon his appearance.

According to Vegapunk's theory, human imagination created Devil Fruits, and supernatural powers like magic were an indispensable theme in human imagination.

However, Drake hadn't expected that the power closest to his understanding of magic would be manifested through the abilities of Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits.

One could only say that Mythical Zoans truly lived up to their reputation as the "answer" in this version!

However, Drake couldn't understand why the Ox-Ghost, an island yokai, would possess such summoning abilities. One could only say that Devil Fruits sometimes truly defied logic.

After commenting on Saturn's summoning ability, Drake looked at the four newly appeared monsters.

The skeletal horse was a yokai formed from the bones of a legendary deceased warhorse, named Makura, belonging to Saint Jaygarcia Saturn.

The giant wild boar with four tusks was the ancient mythical beast, a bringer of disaster, transformed by Saint Topman Warcury.

The monster with a snake's body and bird's wings was the Japanese mythological creature Itsumade, its true form being Saint Marcus Mars.

And that giant worm was the sandworm from science fiction stories—transformed by Saint Shepherd Ju Peter.

The Five Elders' styles were completely inconsistent, their abilities spanning various myths from ancient and modern times, East and West. Yet, when they gathered, they inexplicably gave off a sense of camaraderie.

The reason, of course, was the high degree of similarity in their auras—equally terrifying and dark.

Drake stroked his chin and said, "These must be the so-called 'Ox-Ghost and Serpent'!"

Mars, transformed into the Itsumade, opened its sharp bird beak and said, "Our primary target is Vegapunk. I'll go find him first!"

With that, Mars flapped its wings, intending to fly away. However, before its massive body could move, its eyes narrowed into slits.

Because a fiery red figure had instantaneously appeared before him.

Instinctively, Mars was about to open its beak and spew black flames, but Drake's fist had already landed on its side.

A clear fist imprint appeared on the bony bird-like face, its entire head deformed, and its body spun away.

Drake said coldly, "It seems you all still don't understand me enough. Otherwise, why would you think of leaving my presence!"

The giant snake tail swept away the debris pressing down on its body, and the seemingly unharmed Mars flew up again.

Saturn said, "This is quite a troublesome brat. Don't be careless!"

The atmosphere instantly became tense, and it was Warcury, transformed into Fengxi, who broke the solemnity.

The giant wild boar began to run, and there's an idiom called "boar's charge," which likely described the current scene.

With each movement of the mountain-like wild boar, the ground trembled. It charged directly at Drake.

The view of the others behind was blocked by Warcury's massive body, and they only saw Warcury pause, then stop.

But Mars, flying in the sky, clearly saw what had happened.

Drake extended both hands, directly grabbing Warcury's protruding giant tusks.

The size difference between them was completely disproportionate, yet Drake had stopped Warcury's charge.

Drake's facial muscles twitched. If not for the power of his flame eruption, he might not have been able to withstand Warcury's charge.

However, since he could stop a charge fueled by momentum, there was no reason to lose in a test of strength at this level.

With a swing of his arm, Drake pinned the giant wild boar to the ground. With a crack, the tusks Drake held were actually broken.

The four monsters behind them all showed expressions of surprise and uncertainty. In their field of vision, a giant claw covered in red scales was gripping the neck of the fallen Warcury, and a giant phantom beast roared towards the sky behind it.

This breathtaking scene only caused the old geezers to falter for a moment before they all moved simultaneously.

Drake felt a dangerous aura emanating from below. He clasped his hands together, forming a small sun-like fireball, and threw it directly at the giant worm that broke through the ground and was surging upwards.

Transformed by Peter, opened its massive mouth, revealing a jaw like a grinder, but what it bit down on was the Blazing Flame of the Flame Dragon King that Drake had thrown!

After devouring the Mother Flame, Drake's flames had undergone a significant evolution. The power of this attack was naturally far beyond what it was before.

The charred marks extended from the sandworm's head downwards, and black smoke billowed from its mouth.

This time, Peter did not recover instantly from the damage, as the Five Elders had before, as if the attack had no effect.

The charred marks quickly faded but reappeared again. This repeated several times, indicating that Peter was digesting Drake's flames.

Its eardrum-piercing shriek echoing, Itsumade then spewed black flames towards Drake.

"You want to compete with me in fire?"

Drake puffed out his chest, then opened his mouth towards Itsumade, a red magic circle unfolding.

"Fire Dragon's Roar!"

Red and black flames collided, two irreconcilable flames clashing.

The conflict lasted for several seconds before the red flames broke through the black flames… no, it wasn't a breakthrough; the red flames had incinerated the black flames into nothingness.

The black flames dissipated too quickly. Mars, transformed into Itsumade, was engulfed by the pillar of fire before it could even react, falling with smoke billowing from its body.

A chill ran down the back of his neck. Drake instinctively tilted his upper body back, just in time to see a flying slash emanating a strange chilling aura pass over his head.

With his peripheral vision, he saw Nasjuro, in his skeletal centaur form, holding the Supreme Grade sword, the First Generation Kitetsu, in a drawing stance.

Twisting his body, Drake shot forward, dodging Saturn's descending, sharp-legged attack. His fist, covered in gauntlets, smashed directly through another slash.

Drake turned slightly. At the same time, the Five Elders surrounded Drake, launching attacks from all directions.

But in the next moment, flames erupted, blasting all five giant monsters away.

And Drake, from within, had transformed into his Dragon Human form. His figure blurred, appearing as if he were attacking all five simultaneously.

As a result, all five old men bore traces of being attacked, either fist marks or deformations, but the outcome was the same: they were sent flying even further.
