The appearance of the meteor cross didn't affect the group's planned itinerary, and the next day, they set off again towards the Capital of the Dead.
Drake didn't know if Meliodas had also heard the prophecy, but he figured that he probably didn't care about the so-called Holy War at this point.
Three thousand years ago, Meliodas and Elizabeth had already paid a heavy price to end the Holy War.
What Meliodas cared about now was probably only Elizabeth's safety and how to undo the curse on both of them.
If Elizabeth wasn't the princess of Liones, Meliodas might not have even formed the Seven Deadly Sins knight order according to the prophecy of the King of Liones.
And so, as if nothing had happened, the group arrived at the Capital of the Dead.
The Boar Hat disguised itself as an ordinary tavern, and the group began to take action.
According to Meliodas, they were preparing to open the tavern, but in reality, they were each going to gather information.
After all, this place didn't look like anyone would come here to drink.
Just like in Drake's memory, this was a dilapidated and desolate place.
The few traces of human habitation were just some ruined walls, which looked like they had been abandoned for a long time.
Drake had seen a record of the Capital of the Dead in the Boar Hat's travelogue.
The Capital of the Dead was a special space, and this place was just the entrance to that space.
The souls of the dead would come here, but there were always some living people who wanted to see them again.
Those people had built a town at the entrance to the Capital of the Dead, hoping to see the dead again.
But unfortunately, aside from death, the only way to enter that world was through the most sincere thoughts of the living and the dead.
And the people who could actually open the entrance to the Capital of the Dead were few and far between.
More and more people left in disappointment, and over time, the town became abandoned.
Drake and Stella arrived at a valley; this place seemed the most like the entrance to the Capital of the Dead that Ban had entered in the original story.
The Capital of the Dead was indeed special; even though he knew that this place was the entrance, Drake hadn't sensed anything unusual.
"It just looks like an ordinary valley!" Stella couldn't help but say.
Drake was also somewhat helpless; in this world, he and Stella certainly didn't have any dead people who were longing for them, so they would have to rely on Ban to open the entrance.
But speaking of Ban, where had that guy gone? Although Meliodas had appointed him as the chef, he probably wouldn't honestly do that job, given his personality.
As expected, Drake soon saw Ban walking over.
However, the red leather jacket that Ban was wearing had large holes in the front and back, indicating that he had experienced a rather fierce battle.
Someone had directly pierced through his body, and had done so decisively, clearly aiming to kill him.
Ban glanced at Drake, nodding without saying anything. He just walked to the middle of the valley, his eyes gradually losing focus, completely immersed in his own longing.
After all, it was hundreds of years of longing; almost instantly, white flowers sprouted from beneath Ban's feet and spread throughout the valley.
Drake could clearly sense the spatial fluctuations; the entrance to the Capital of the Dead had opened.
"This scene doesn't suit you at all, Ban!"
Meliodas and the others had also followed, and couldn't help but say this upon seeing the scene.
Having snapped out of it, Ban was also surprised by the changes around him. Before he could do anything, the petals flew up, enveloping everyone in the valley.
Drake stared intently at the petals; they were certainly not ordinary plants, but a special creation.
What surprised Drake was that the petals not only had the power of space, but also had strong soul energy fluctuations.
Having seen such a unique existence before even entering the Capital of the Dead, Drake was even more looking forward to his trip to the Capital of the Dead.
In the blink of an eye, the petals dissipated, and the group had arrived in a special space.
This was a desolate world; there was no sun or moon in the sky, and the entire sky seemed to be emitting a dim yellow light.
This meant that even the basic alternation of day and night didn't exist here, as if time had stopped.
The desolate ground was covered in green, crystal-like objects, and Drake wondered what they were, and whether they had any special effects.
Just then, Ban seemed to have seen something, and jumped, running off into the distance.
And a black shadow quickly flew past in the sky, chasing after the fleeing Ban.
Drake called out, "Captain, it seems like someone else has followed us in! I'll take care of Ban's side; you can deal with the uninvited guest."
Meliodas crossed his arms, saying, "Seriously, I'm the Captain! Why are you assigning me work, staff member?"
Although he said that, Meliodas became vigilant, just as Drake had said.
Drake's speed was incredibly fast, and he soon caught up with the two in front.
Ban was standing on a giant crystal, and the person he was talking to was a short-haired youth floating in mid-air.
The youth didn't seem to be very old, but his magic power was at least seven or eight times higher than Meliodas' current level.
A simple-looking long spear stood beside him, also floating in mid-air.
One of the Seven Deadly Sins, the Grizzly's Sin of Sloth, King. His real name was Harlequin, and he was the king of the Fairy Clan, one of the five major races.
That spear was his Sacred Treasure, the Spirit Spear Chastiefol, made from the branches of the Fairy Clan's Sacred Tree.
The two had been talking before Drake arrived, but as soon as Drake arrived, he saw King manipulating the Spirit Spear to shoot at Ban.
Perhaps because King was the brother of his beloved, or perhaps because of his guilt for not protecting Elaine, Ban neither dodged nor defended, allowing the Spirit Spear to pierce through his chest.
Drake instantly appeared before Ban, kicking the Spirit Spear, sending it spinning away, and it embedded itself in a nearby crystal.
King frowned, saying, "Who are you, and why are you protecting that guy!"
Drake retracted his foot, saying, "I am indeed Ban's companion. But Ban doesn't need my protection, and I'm just acting because I don't like you."
Drake wasn't deliberately provoking him, but he really couldn't stand King's actions.
For a man, responsibility was something that he had to bear no matter what.
As the Fairy King, King should have protected his people, and guarded the Fairy King's Forest and the Sacred Spring.
As a brother, King should have ensured that his sister had a carefree life.
As a lover, King should have taken care of Diane, and not let her get hurt in any way.
But what had King done? He had left the responsibility of guarding the Sacred Spring to his sister, leaving her lonely for seven hundred years.
Later, the Fairy King's Forest was destroyed by the Demon Clan, and Elaine had even died because of it.
And what he had done to Diane was even worse; Drake had always believed that memories were the most precious treasures a person possessed.
Without the person's consent, arbitrarily interfering with someone else's memories, even if they were an enemy, was something that Drake considered too much.
Let alone doing it to someone he loved, even if it was done with the excuse of doing it for their own good.
Drake clenched his fists; he really couldn't help himself, and wanted to beat this kid up.
