Neither Drake nor the other members of Earthland Fairy Tail interfered in the battles between Erza and Natsu and their Edolas counterparts.
Neither Drake nor the other members of Earthland Fairy Tail interfered in the battles between Erza and Natsu and their Edolas counterparts. They all had unwavering faith in their comrades' ability to secure victory.
While both were captains of the royal knights, a significant disparity existed between Sugarboy and Knightwalker. Drake, as a master martial artist, understood this difference better than anyone.
Knightwalker's Ten Commandments Spear was powerful, but her combat prowess was even more formidable.
Years of rigorous training and extensive experience allowed her to unleash the spear's full potential, initially overwhelming Erza.
Sugarboy, however, relied solely on his magical tool's abilities; Drake could tell he hadn't trained seriously. Natsu hadn't defeated him immediately simply because he was still adapting to Sugarboy's abilities. Once Natsu found an opening, the battle wouldn't last long.
Drake sighed, looking to the sky. He wondered how Mystogan was doing.
This operation was to help Mystogan, so everything followed his plan.
Mystogan was currently on a royal supply ship.
Using hypnosis, Mystogan easily infiltrated the ship. He was confident; with his comrades' help, he could pull the kingdom back from the brink.
As Mystogan prepared for a heartwarming father-son reunion, the battles were nearing their end.
Natsu propelled himself through the softened, swamp-like ground with bursts of flame from his feet, closing in on Sugarboy and delivering a devastating Fire Dragon's Hook Claw.
The force of the kick shattered Sugarboy's armor; the man himself was, quite literally, roasted like a pig.
The airborne Sugarboy was caught—by Drake.
But Drake wasn't saving him; he took the Rose Sword and tossed Sugarboy aside.
"I see, I see! So that's how it works!"
Drake, a master craftsman, understood the magical tool's mechanics instantly.
Technological advancements are driven by demand; this is why technology rapidly develops during wartime.
The demand for production increases dramatically—communication, transportation, weapons, even clothes and food.
In Edolas, humans without magic could only use magical tools, so their technology was advanced.
Earthland was different; everyone could use magic, so magical tool development was stagnant or even regressed. The troublesome magical tools were ancient relics; there were few modern inventions.
From the Rose Sword, Drake saw impressive technology; some aspects would take him time to understand.
Drake was studying the tool when he caught a spear aimed at him.
Knightwalker was surprised; her Ten Commandments Spear was at sonic speed, yet he caught it barehanded.
She was even more surprised at the face of the person who caught it.
"Drake, how…?"
Knightwalker realized something, retrieved her spear, grabbed the fallen Sugarboy, and retreated.
Seeing her counterpart, Knightwalker quickly realized he wasn't the Drake she knew but someone from another world.
But that face was too familiar; even knowing he wasn't her Drake, she trembled.
Knightwalker hadn't intended to defeat them; she only wanted to rescue Sugarboy.
One Erza Scarlet was formidable enough; with so many others, it was even worse.
And Edolas Drake was there; she didn't believe he was weak, even if he was from another world.
Perhaps sensing their master's danger, the beast in the sky overcame its fear of Happy and descended, carrying Knightwalker and Sugarboy into the sky.
Natsu wanted to chase, but Drake stopped him. "Leaving them is pointless; let them go! Let them report to the king; tell him Fairy Tail is here!"
On the beast's back, Knightwalker sat down, looking at her trembling hands in silence.
Sugarboy struggled to sit up. "What now? Was it a problem with Anima? Why are Earthland's Fairy Tail here?"
Knightwalker composed herself. "This is beyond our capabilities; we must report to His Majesty immediately!"
Sugarboy wasn't stupid; the battle showed him how formidable Earthland Fairy Tail was.
If they wreaked havoc in the kingdom, the consequences would be unimaginable.
…
In Edolas's royal palace, after receiving Knightwalker's report, King Faust immediately called an emergency meeting.
Faust sat at the head of the long table. "This is Erza's report; read it."
An elder, sitting closest to Faust, stood up after reading the document. "Your Majesty, we've been preparing for the upcoming operation; Anima wasn't activated.
They must have come to Edolas through another method."
This elder managed Anima; he was the kingdom's chief strategist.
Anima was the only way to connect the worlds, so Byro worried Faust would suspect him.
Faust raised his hand. "Enough! How they arrived is irrelevant; what matters is how to deal with them.
The super-large Anima is almost complete; the plan is underway; we can't let them interfere with the arrival of eternal magic."
A tall figure, like a black panther, stood up. "Your Majesty, deploy the royal knights! We will eliminate these otherworlders."
Faust looked at the captain of the royal knights. "Reliable, Panther Lily. I entrust this to you. Gather your troops; eliminate all obstacles."
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
Panther Lily left.
After he was gone, Faust's expression darkened.
Byro had served Faust for many years and understood him best. "Your Majesty, are you still worried?"
Faust said coldly, "Erza said Earthland's Fairy Tail is strong; even Panther Lily can't guarantee their defeat. And you saw that man; he's also a Fairy Tail member; how can I be at ease!"
That man left a deep impression on Faust; he didn't even want to mention his name, fearing even another world's Drake.
Byro's eyes twinkled. "Your Majesty, to deal with that man, who is more suitable than the man himself?"
"You mean…?" Faust's expression changed.
Byro looked at Faust, confirming his guess.
Faust fell silent, his expression shifting rapidly.
Byro said, "Your Majesty, don't decide yet. The royal knights might defeat them.
We can check on that man's situation; consider releasing him only at the last moment."
