"Reunion"

After defeating Vendetta, Fal reverted to his small size and landed on Drake's shoulder.

Seeing Ais's curious expression, Drake smiled. "This is my partner, Fal. He's a being similar to a sprite."

"A sprite?"

Ais leaned closer, her eyes shining as she looked at Fal.

Even Drake had to admit that, in his smaller form, Fal was quite handsome, possessing a delicate and cute charm.

Fal chirped a greeting to Ais. He seemed to like Ais, who possessed sprite blood.

Ais almost snatched Fal up to hug him, but after a significant internal struggle, she resisted the urge.

Drake said, "The troublesome fellow is dealt with; let's find Finn and the others."

Ais nodded and followed Drake to the edge of the large hole.

Fal chirped, then flew out, expanding to five or six meters in mid-air.

Drake jumped onto Fal's back and beckoned Ais. "Hop on! Fal rarely lets others ride him."

Once Ais was aboard, Fal spread his wings and flew downwards.

Bipedal wyverns emerged from nowhere, attacking Fal frantically.

Ais drew her Despair Sword, ready to engage, but Drake stopped her.

"Don't worry; Fal is very strong; he can handle them himself."

Fal, a fire elemental sprite, possessed the strongest attack power among the four elemental sprites; he wasn't afraid of these monsters.

Fal unleashed a torrent of flames, incinerating the approaching wyverns, preventing any from getting close.

Fal quickly carried them through the Cannon Dragon's crater to the fifty-eighth floor.

Drake clearly saw Bete and the Amazonian sisters surrounded by monsters on the fifty-eighth floor.

The culprits behind their fall were the massive red Cannon Dragon, the bipedal rhinoceros-like Rynos, and the weapon-wielding ram-headed demons—common deep-level monsters.

"This is… a monster feast!"

Drake hadn't expected Bete and the others to not only fall to the fifty-eighth floor but also to have the misfortune of encountering a monster surge.

However, Drake reflected that this was normal; the Dungeon was alive, acting with malice towards adventurers, delivering fatal blows when they were weak.

The Dungeon likely judged the fallen Bete and the others as vulnerable, hence the simultaneous spawning of numerous deep-level monsters to eliminate them.

The monster surge indeed caused significant trouble for Bete and the Amazonian sisters.

Bete used his magic sword and activated the gems on his boots. Flames enveloped his boots, but his kicks lacked their usual power.

Tione and Tiona's respective skills activated.

Tione possessed the skill "Rageful Mayhem," increasing her attack power based on the severity of her injuries and her level of anger.

Her "Grand Counterattack" skill, which boosts strength when near death, was also active.

Tiona had similar skills: "Frenzied Mayhem," increasing her stats based on injuries, and "Great Heat Battle," boosting all stats when near death.

Judging by Tiona's fighting style, both skills were already active.

True to their heroic potential, the three, though battered, were suppressing the deep-level monster surge.

Even without Drake's arrival, they could have held out until reinforcements arrived or even eliminated the monsters, though the extent of their injuries would have been significant.

Bete kicked a Rynos to pieces when he heard a roar overhead.

Looking up, he saw a red figure descending.

Tiona saw it too, surprised. "What is that? I've never heard of such a monster in the deep levels!"

Bete said, "No, there's someone on its back! It's Ais and that trash from the Hephaestus Familia."

As they spoke, Fal descended, engulfed in raging flames.

Fal roared, unleashing a pillar of fire that swept away the monsters surrounding the three.

Ais jumped from Fal's back to the three. "Bete, Tione, Tiona, are you alright?!"

Tiona sat down heavily. "We're saved! But what was that fire-breathing behemoth? Why did it help us?"

Ais shoved a high-grade recovery potion into Tiona's mouth. "You can ask Drake!"

Tione bit into the potion bottle. "That guy from the Hephaestus Familia? Is that fire dragon related to him?"

Bete scowled; being rescued by Drake seemed to have soured his mood.

Fal's breath attack, comparable to a wide-area annihilation spell, quickly cleared the surrounding monsters.

Drake calmed the agitated Fal, returning him to his grimoire.

The next floor held the Fallen Sprite's fully matured fragment; Fal clearly sensed its foul energy.

But Drake didn't intend to confront it now; he wanted to wait until his attribute growth slowed before using it as a level-up challenge.

Drake approached the recovering trio; Tiona suddenly lunged forward and hugged his arm.

Drake looked down, then disdainfully raised an eyebrow. With such limited assets, she dared to make such a move; Tiona truly lacked self-awareness.

However, Tiona, seemingly unaware of Drake's thoughts, said, "Hey, what was that fire dragon? Tell me!"

Drake, with a clear gaze, disengaged his arm from Tiona's embrace. "Didn't Ais tell you?"

Tiona glanced back at Ais, a "You've changed" expression on her face.

Ais remained impassive. "I promised to keep it a secret!"

Drake remembered promising secrecy before fighting Vendetta. But Ais was too straightforward; everyone had already seen it; secrecy was pointless.

Drake said, "It's called Fal. He's my partner, a sprite, I believe."

Tiona became excited. "A sprite? Like the sprites from the Sacred Tales of the Labyrinth?

Making a pact with a sprite… doesn't that make you like those heroes?"

Sacred Tales of the Labyrinth was the world's most famous heroic legend, recounting the deeds of heroes who fought on this land before the age of the gods.

From the first hero, Argo, to the last hero, Albert, sprites featured prominently in these great heroes' stories.

Tiona, a lover of heroic tales, was immediately excited, her gaze even more ardent towards Drake.

Drake quickly changed the subject. "Where's Finn and the others?"

Tione said dejectedly, "We got separated from the Captain; we don't know how he is."

Bete crossed his arms. "Lovesick Amazon, Finn doesn't need your concern."

"What did you say, you idiot werewolf!"

Seeing Tione and Bete about to argue, Drake said, "The priority is rejoining Finn; this isn't the place for arguing!"

"Oh? Are you ordering us around?" Bete's attitude remained as unpleasant as ever.

Drake felt his fists clench, about to speak when Finn's voice was heard.

"That commotion was you guys, wasn't it!"

Finn, Riveria, and Gareth approached, explaining, "Sorry, we encountered a swarm of bipedal wyverns; we were delayed."

Bete snorted and turned away. Drake suppressed his annoyance; he'd have opportunities to deal with this foul-mouthed guy later.
