Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Dragon's Legacy

Jin Haru walked back to the magic academy, feeling powerful. He'd just reached level 20, learning to use black fire and lightning. He wasn't the weak kid anymore; he felt like he could control the weather. He wasn't looking for fame, just the satisfaction of getting stronger.

But his good mood didn't last long. Near the academy gates, he saw a bunch of rich kids from the top class, A-rank, surrounding a fancy cage. Inside was something amazing: a dragon egg. This wasn't just any egg; it glowed with magic, its shell shimmered with colors, and it was bigger than a person. Even Jin, with his new powers, felt small next to it.

"Look at this loser's find," sneered Lucian, the leader of the rich kids. They laughed at Jin, calling him "Fire Boy" – a cruel reminder of his earlier failure. They were mean, and Jin was furious. He wanted to blast them with his new powers, but he stopped himself. This egg was way more important than his revenge.

Jin took a closer look. He used his special "Demon Sight" to see the magic flowing inside the egg. It wasn't ordinary; this egg held more power than anything Jin had seen. He realized this wasn't an accident. He knew this egg's appearance was meant to happen.

The egg seemed to sense Jin, pulsing gently and pulling him closer. He could feel its incredible power, so strong it made him dizzy. It felt like something special, something amazing. He reached out slowly, and when his fingers touched the shell, powerful images flashed into his mind: massive mountains, a huge dragon flying, an old city lost to time, and a prophecy—a message about a chosen hero.

Instead of fighting, Jin spoke to the rich kids calmly. "This isn't just some junk, you idiots," he said. "This is something amazing, and you're disrespecting it."

Jin's words held a new weight. The bullies stopped being mean. Lucian looked surprised. The other kids were quiet, unsure, showing a little respect. But Jin was too smart to trust them.

Jin's Demon Sight showed him something hidden deep inside the egg, a tiny glowing mark – a sign of incredible, special magic. It wasn't a normal dragon egg at all, something powerful and rare.

He saw a dark, hidden grove near the academy – a secret place where magic was super strong. But the students avoided it. Nobody but Jin could sense the ancient, mighty power in that place.

"This egg needs protection," said Jin, "a safe place to hatch." He couldn't explain all of this in detail, but the power of his new powers made his words strong enough that they understood the importance.

"You're wrong!" shouted Lucian, getting angry again, "It's ours!" Lucian gave a signal to the other kids, but their faces held a mixture of fear and doubt.

Jin focused on the secret grove, leading them to where they should be. He smiled, a little sinister.

Then, more powerful than ever before, he released his new powers. Black flames and black lightning danced around him, a scary but perfectly controlled show. They grew bigger and bigger, until a black lightning crack stretched across the sky. The black flames flew along the sky, like some kind of terrifying art.

This was not an attack. It was only a demonstration of how much stronger he had become. The rich kids stumbled backward, trembling. The power was incredible, scary. The bullies looked like crying children. Jin kept the fire and lightning away from hitting them. He didn't want to hurt them, but he ensured they understood his new power.

"This is your only warning," Jin said, his voice calm but like an order. "Leave. Now."

They ran. Jin carefully took the egg to the secret grove. Using his new skills, he prepared the area, making it the perfect place for the egg to safely hatch. He would often visit the egg, protecting it with his magic. He studied old books, to understand this special egg and to look for prophecies about it.

His new magic helped him see more about the world. He understood magic better, and his body healed faster than ever before. He felt that his cells remembered the immense powers they used when he was the Demon King.

Jin also kept training in the special grounds, fighting even stronger and scarier creatures. He killed giant spiders, powerful ghosts, and even a baby hydra—all effortlessly, showing off his skills. He thought and moved quickly, always improving his way of fighting. He was not just surviving, he was getting unbelievably better. And he never forgot about the egg, protecting its legacy.

He spent more time with the other kids in his class, E-class. Before, they ignored him. Now, they respected him. He was nicer to them, showing feelings he hadn't ever shown before. They saw a brilliant magical being in him.

Jin got closer to Professor Raelith, an amazing teacher. She was shocked by how quickly he got stronger, how incredible his new powers were. She pushed him hard, testing his abilities. She gave him difficult tasks to prove himself, watching as he beat each one, perfectly and skillfully. Somehow, Jin somehow seemed to know more magic than even her. With her help, Jin learned more advanced magic, things far beyond what a normal student learns.

Jin even made friends with the quiet kid who talks to his lizard. Using his powers, Jin sensed dark magical energy in that kid. He wasn't evil; the darkness came from a cursed object. Jin saw that the boy could become incredibly powerful, either for good or evil. Jin helped him, secretly teaching him to control his dark powers instead of being controlled by them. The kid was grateful, and they became unlikely friends, showing that Jin had changed a lot, losing the traits seen in his life as Demon King.

Over many months, the egg changed more and more. It felt unbelievably more powerful, and the magic around it grew too. Jin visited the egg often, offering ancient magic spells, helping it grow up. A prophecy was coming true, and Jin was important to it.

One night, everything changed. The magic around the egg became wild, powerful magic everywhere. He felt a shiver. The egg was about to hatch. He nurtured it into greatness; his actions would eventually lead to one of the mightiest beings ever to exist. It would be a powerful protector, a friend to everyone, and an enemy of anyone who dared to threaten their world.

The dragon was about to be born.
