The sun was starting to set with the twin moons starting to rise as Elien opened the door to her home, "Come on in." Elien said as she stepped inside, turning around and smiling. Varan stepped inside the home and felt the warmth of the fire surround him, "Nice, isn't it?" Elien asked, she was now sitting done on a chair closer to the fire.
"Yes, it is." Varan said, almost in a whisper as he looked around the house, "Come and sit, you must be tired." Elien insisted as she motioned to the chair next to her. Varan nodded his head as he set down his sheathed greatsword, leaning it against the wall.
After sitting down, he removed his helmet and set it down on the floor next to him. "Has anyone ever told you that your eyes are beautiful?" Elien asked as she stared into his deep blue eyes, Varan mirrored the action as he stared into her own emerald eyes, "No, no one has ever commented on my appearance in such a way." Varan said as he removed his gaze.
Elien smiled, why she was smiling she didn't know, nor did she care, "I wonder why Mother Kyne called you my future lover." Elien said absentmindedly as she admired Varan's face. "I don't know, but I do know that she is never wrong about such things." Varan said as he turned his eyes towards her.
Elien's eyes widened as she blushed, "Is that so?" Elien's voice was soft, barely above a whisper, but varan still heard it and nodded his head. "Then do you think we are meant to be lovers?" Elien asked again, looking into Varan's eyes before then scanning his face.
Varan nodded his head, "When or how I do not know, but if what I'm feeling is true, I think we will end up as lovers." Hearing Varan's words Elien's eyes widened even further, and her cheeks turned a deeper shade of red. "What you are feeling?" Elien asked as she turned her head towards the fire.
Varan nodded his head, although Elien didn't see it, so he spoke, "My chest feels warm, I do not know if it is because you beautiful or because of what Mother Kyne said." Elien turned her head towards Varan, "You think I am beautiful?" Elien asked as she stood up from her seat and stepped in front of Varan.
Varan nodded his head, "You are the most beautiful woman I have ever laid my eyes on." Varan said has his gaze lingered on her features, "Are you saying because of what Mother Kyne said?" Elien asked softly as she too gazed at his features.
Varan shook his head, Elien just placed her hand on his cheek as she leaned down and connected her lips with his.
.
Elien woke up to the morning sun touching her skin, as she sat up, the blanket covering her slid off, revealing her naked figure. She turned her head and saw Varan lying next to her, his bare chest rising and falling rhythmically with each breath he took.
She gazed upon his figure, tracing the various scars that littered his chest and abdomen, as she did so she remembered the night before, remembering the passion and love she felt as they made love, doing so brought a smile to her lips, for she knew that Kyne may be right.
She moved her gaze to Varan's face, his sharp jawline that was covered in 'bruises' that went down his neck and collarbone, her eyes shifted to the three scars that went from the bridge of his nose, past his lips and ended at his lower jaw, she traced these scars with a woeful look in her eyes.
Varan lazily opened his eyes, feeling Elien's fingers softly caressing his jaw, "Good morning." His voice was deep and hoarse, signs that he had indeed just woken up. Varan sat up and his eyes drifted towards Elien's bare chest before fixating on her beautiful emerald eyes, "Did you sleep well?" He asked as he placed his arm around her shoulders and pulled her body into his.
Feeling the warmth of his body Elien smiled, "Wonderfully." She said as she rested her head on his chest, her previous smile widening, "That's good." Varan said as he leaned his head against the wall behind them. Varan closed his eyes, and he let out deep breath from his nose.
"What's wrong?" Elien asked, her head not moving from his chest, "Nothing Elien." Varan said as he ran his hand up and down Elien's arm, feeling a few faded scars around her shoulder. Elien smiled as she continued to rest her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.
She knew that the love that she felt in her heart was sudden and 'unfounded', but she hoped that it wouldn't be so for much longer, and that soon it could be considered real love.
