Chapter 1 - Introduction

"Where am I?" Ethan asked as he looked around the room, which had a white ceiling and floor with yellow walls. On one end of the room, there was a computer and an overworked chair, while he was on a bed with only enough leg space to walk five steps towards the computer. Ethan stared, confused, but was immediately hit with the memories of his previous body.

I have transmigrated into another world, although similar to Earth, there are some key differences. The body I am in is the body of me from this universe. He was a tragic genius, to say the least. He graduated from high school at the age of 12 and instead of going to university, he took a break that lasted till his 18th birthday. On that day, his parents died in a car accident, and he was left with no one alive and had to live on his own. The sheer stress of living by himself killed him; that was just a very sad and pathetic way to die.' Ethan thought, but still sent a silent prayer to respect the family of three that had just died.

[Initializing…Completed. Hello, I am your virtual assistant, VIREA or Virtual Intelligence for Real-time Evolution and Analysis.]

Ethan heard this sound as he looked around, finding no one, he asked, "Where are you?"

[I am bound to you by soul, we share the same life, thus you can say I am inside you]

Ethan was shocked after hearing that, but he overcame it. There are not many things that can shock him in the world, and even fewer make him stay shocked. He then calmed down and asked, "What are your capabilities?"

I am virtual intelligence, thus I can help you with memorization of knowledge and also its application. I can't act since I am without a real body, and I don't need the internet or electricity since I run off the energy you also run off. I can scan your state, build machines, and technology only theorized.]

"That is quite the capability. Do you know how to make a dark matter generator? Perfect nuclear fusion? immortality?"

[Thinking…Completed. I can make blueprints for dark matter generators and perfect nuclear fusion; however, based on the knowledge of the previous Ethan Cross and current Ethan Cross, I found no combination of elements, compounds, or technology to create immortality. We will need much more resources than what Earth seems to possess.]

"I see, the limitation of your power is the need for real-world infrastructure and time. I can work with that." Ethan said, his voice almost neutral as if he were talking to another person rather than Ai, embedded into his soul.

[ Sir—]

"Please, call me by name. From now on, we are partners," Ethan said

[Ethan, you seem calm about something like this happening. I find it intriguing that if any other person were in the same place as you, they would be thinking that they went crazy or reminiscing about their past life or complaining, but you seem presently neutral about it.]

"I see no point in wasting time thinking about the past, as for any attachments to my previous world. Of course I do, I have a wife and son. If anything, I miss them, but nothing truly lasts forever, does it? Everything must end; only then can we begin anew. I am only glad that my parents aren't alive because my wife can find a new husband, my son a new father, but parents can't find another son, so I am glad that my parents died both times." Ethan said he was hit with the nostalgia of his mother and father, back then they were very poor and had put everything on line for him to study. When he created his first start-up up which sold for billions, his father and mother's warm hugs were the first thing that greeted him.

Sadly, they died just a year later from cancer. It was said, but he was able to move on.. Ethan snapped back as he said, "Enough delaying, I need money to build anything tangible, and also, it must make sense for me to be able to build it. I suggest games since the previous owner was known for his gaming skills, it would be better to build a game first."

[ I agree, but the question is which game? I cannot think creatively to that extent, thus I need you to give me the parameters.

Ethan nodded as he went to the computer and started to search for popular games. 'There is a particular favorability towards FPS games since they dominate the top 10, with more than 8 of them being FPS, and the rest were idle games. However, the market itself is saturated with FPS, and idle, there seems to be nothing else other than shooting this or that. If things continue this way, the gaming industry will face a great recession since everyone is producing games from the same genre.' Ethan thought as he leaned back on his chair and thought about all the non-FPS games from his past life, he then filtered through the list with games already in the market. He then ended up with some of the most popular non-FPS games from his time.

Ethan opened his eyes as he said, "Virea, can you access my thoughts?"

[Yes, I can. I already prepared code for the game, it only needs you to type it in and publish it.]

Ethan got to work as he opened up files and started to program them in a holographic display in front of him.

{After 3 hours}

'It's been 3 hours, currently it is night time in the place where I live. One of the changes mentioned above was a complete remapping of the continents and countries on Earth. There are countries like the USA, China, Russia, France, UK, India, and all, but there are also new countries, of course, almost all of them are not comparable to these superpowers, but the country I am in, Elysium, is one of the new superpowers of the world. It has its history that I need to brush up on, but it was formed after the British Empire was dissolved.

It has been a democratic country since then, and it is currently the richest country because many business headquarters and home bases are here in this country. There are rumors that even though Elysium is a democratic country, it is in fact under the control of the rich as they are the one who decides the election process.' Ethan's mind wandered through the political landscape of the world with the emergence of Elysium and the other continents.

[You are getting distracted]

"I know, but there is way too much code for me to run through. I need to delegate work, there is no way I can do this myself." Ethan said as he pulled up one of those freelancing websites and delegated work to them, of course, they get paid with money. I looked through the bank account, and he was loaded for something like this.
