Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Chapter 10

The Earth Caste engineer was the first to finish his analysis. He turned to Commander Aurora with a data pad in hand.

"Commander, the atmospheric composition is stable. Oxygen-rich, low toxicity—ideal for Tau habitation."

Aurora removed her helmet and inhaled deeply.

The air was moist and fragrant, tinged with the scent of wet soil and greenery.

"Excellent," she said. "From this moment forward, this world belongs to the Tau Empire."

No signs of advanced interstellar civilization had been detected. According to the Tau's colonization doctrine, any unclaimed habitable planet without a spacefaring civilization was subject to annexation.

It was a policy that had sparked more than one war with the Imperium.

Just as Aurora was about to descend the boarding ramp of her cruiser, a Fire Caste warrior held up a hand, stopping her.

"Commander—biosignatures detected. Something's moving in the jungle."

Weapons were raised in an instant. The Fire Caste formed a defensive perimeter as the shadows of the rainforest stirred.

Dozens of glowing yellow eyes emerged from the darkness, low to the ground and closing in slowly.

The first creatures to break the treeline were quadrupeds—reptilian beasts with thick dorsal plates running down their spines, eerily reminiscent of Godzilla himself. Vapor leaked from between their fangs, and their bodies pulsed with an inner heat.

They were fire-breathers. Nuclear-blooded beasts.

Still, Aurora remained calm. The presence of fauna was expected on a habitable world.

But then the true natives stepped out.

Bipedal reptilians—intelligent, upright. They looked like scaled warriors carved in the image of a kaiju god. Each one stood over two meters tall and carried crude weapons—clubs, spears, and axes fashioned from organic material.

But not just any material. Their weapons were made from the shed spines and bones of kaiju-like titans, perhaps even Godzilla himself. Razor-sharp and impossibly durable, these implements were primal, yet far from primitive.

Then came a sound.

Not a growl. Not a roar.

Language.

Aurora's eyes widened. These weren't beasts. They had a culture. A language. Perhaps even a society.

A perfect opportunity.

The Water Caste's core philosophy revolved around communication, diplomacy, and persuasion. And in Aurora's mind, a path opened instantly: these natives could be the next Kroot. The next Vespid.

They could be integrated.

She closed her eyes briefly, drawing upon her caste's innate gift for pattern recognition, starting to mentally deconstruct the alien language.

"Lower your weapons," she ordered calmly.

"But Commander—these things look dangerous," one of the Fire Warriors protested.

"They haven't attacked us. That means we have time. As long as we hold a defensive posture, we show no threat. And if they're willing to speak..." she trailed off, her eyes gleaming, "...we introduce them to the Greater Good."

---

Within the jungle, the lizardfolk were arguing among themselves.

It had been centuries since any outsiders landed on their sacred world.

Two of the largest lizardmen stood at the center of the debate, their voices low but firm. In their society, power came from strength, and these two towered above the others.

"For the sake of the Great God, we must drive them out," one hissed.

"No. They have not raised weapons. The ancient codes forbid striking first without cause."

Their words echoed the very nature of Godzilla himself—implacable but passive until provoked. A force of balance rather than cruelty.

Back at the Tau landing site, a Water Caste envoy stepped forward. He walked—alone—beyond the protective ring of Fire Caste warriors, into the open.

His voice was soft, his tone gentle. He spoke words the lizardmen didn't understand, but his intent was clear.

It was a bold, even reckless act.

But this was what made the Tau unique in the galaxy's grim darkness: the stubborn belief that diplomacy still had a place.

Had this been Orks or the servants of Chaos, the envoy would already be dead—his body nailed to a tree as a warning.

"See?" said one of the lizard warriors, watching. "They haven't attacked."

"Then I trust your judgment," grunted the other. "But if they betray that trust, I will crush their skulls myself."

---

High above, in the temple nestled within the jungle, the priestess watched.

The girl with the lizard tail and serpent eyes stood in the darkness, eyes glowing faintly with power.

"I see it," she whispered. "Their ideology is alien to ours. But the time for war is not yet upon us."

She turned and walked deeper into the temple.

---

A small delegation of Tau followed the lizardmen through the forest, passing beneath towering trees and beside great stone idols.

Aurora's younger brother was among the team. He watched in awe as they passed through a village built around the sacred temple.

Lizardfolk hunted in silence with spears and bone-blades. Others traded in a bustling market, bartering spices, meat, and strange fermented drinks.

Then they reached the hatching pools.

Red and luminous, the waters pulsed with eerie light. These were the birthplaces of the lizardfolk—spawned not from parents, but from the sacred pools that resonated with the essence of Singularity Godzilla.

No energy input. No biomass. Just raw cosmic force.

These pools were immune to corruption. Even the gods of Chaos had failed to taint them. Only by building fortresses *around* them could they be denied.

Godzilla didn't need armies. He only needed *one race*. A species born of his will and shaped by his soul.

"Oh, the Greater Good..." Aurora's brother murmured. "They come from water, like us."

There was a kinship here. A similarity in origin.

Where Orks were chaos and violence, these creatures were composed, orderly, reverent.

Then a shadow fell across the path.

A towering figure—over three meters tall—approached. His scales gleamed like obsidian, and the lizardmen all bowed in silence.

He was a *Temple Guard*. An elite warrior, chosen from the strongest of their kind to protect the sacred grounds.

Even a Space Marine would hesitate before engaging such a beast in single combat.

"The Priestess has sensed the outsiders," the Guard growled. "She wishes to speak with them. Follow me."

The delegation exchanged glances.

Among the lizardmen, the words *Priestess* and *God* were spoken with fervent awe.

Then, something happened that none of the Tau expected.

A voice, clear and articulate, rang in their heads.

"Visitors from the Tau Empire," it said, speaking in *flawless Tau*.

"I am Priestess Isis, humble servant of the Great God Godzilla. Come to the temple. We have much to discuss."

Silence fell.

The Tau looked at one another in disbelief.

Whatever this planet was—whatever secrets it held—this was no mere backwater.

It was something much more.
