Chapter 15 - THE WOLF PRINCE

Rain poured across the rooftop.

Cold wind howled through the parking structure while Vincent slowly stepped backward into the shadows.

"…The kingdom is collapsing again," Vincent said calmly. "Whether you like it or not, they'll come for you eventually."

Something inside Ren snapped.

Before anyone could react—

BOOM.

Ren rushed forward so fast the concrete beneath his feet cracked.

Vincent's eyes widened.

Too late.

CRASH.

Ren slammed into him and sent him crashing across the rooftop floor. The impact echoed through the structure loudly enough to make everyone below freeze.

"REN?!" Lilia shouted.

Kaito looked upward in horror. "WHAT WAS THAT?!"

Leo's expression darkened instantly.

"…Young master…"

Upstairs—

Vincent barely recovered before Ren grabbed him by the collar and threw him against the wall.

BANG.

The concrete cracked from the force.

Vincent coughed, trying to steady himself, but Ren didn't stop. Years of buried anger finally exploded out of him.

"You people just don't stop," Ren growled.

Vincent smirked weakly despite the situation. "There's the prince I remember."

Wrong thing to say.

Ren's eyes suddenly glowed blue.

The air around him changed instantly.

Heavy.

Wild.

Dangerous.

Everyone finally reached the rooftop—

And froze.

Rain dripped from Ren's face while he stood over Vincent like a predator cornering prey. His breathing was rough, fists clenched tightly at his sides.

Then he roared.

Not angrily.

Not normally.

Like a wolf.

The sound echoed through the storm, making even Kaito stumble backward.

"O-Okay that is NOT normal human behavior!"

Even Leo looked shaken.

Because behind Ren—

His shadow stretched unnaturally across the rooftop wall.

A massive wolf shape formed from darkness itself.

Large glowing eyes.

Sharp fangs.

A terrifying presence silently looming behind him.

Lilia's breath caught.

"…Ren…"

Vincent slowly looked up from the ground and laughed weakly.

"So the Wolf Prince truly awakened…"

Ren stepped closer.

Every movement felt dangerous now.

Vincent tried standing—

Ren immediately grabbed him by the front of his coat and pinned him back against the wall again.

"You talk too much," Ren said coldly.

The blue glow in his eyes became brighter.

The wolf shadow behind him looked almost alive now, its shape moving with the storm around them.

Even Leo took a step back unconsciously.

Kaito whispered nervously, "…Why does it feel like a boss fight started?"

Sayaka stayed silent for once.

Because even she could feel it.

Ren looked terrifying.

Not evil.

Just… completely cornered.

Like someone who had spent too long holding everything inside.

Vincent smiled faintly despite the pressure around him.

"…Go on then," he whispered. "Show them why the kingdom fears you."

The wolf shadow expanded slightly.

The rooftop lights flickered.

For one dangerous moment—

It looked like Ren might actually lose control completely.

Then—

"Ren."

Lilia's voice cut through the storm softly.

Silence.

Ren froze instantly.

The glowing blue eyes slowly turned toward her.

Everyone held their breath.

Lilia walked toward him carefully despite trembling a little.

Leo immediately panicked.

"Princess, wait—"

But she ignored him.

Step by step, she approached Ren until she stood directly in front of him.

Even with the terrifying wolf shadow behind him…

Even seeing his glowing eyes…

She didn't run away.

Instead—

She gently grabbed his hand.

The moment she touched him, the wolf shadow flickered.

Lilia looked up at him quietly.

"…You're still you," she whispered.

Ren's expression cracked slightly.

The rage.

The pressure.

The terrifying aura around him—

Started fading.

The blue glow slowly disappeared from his eyes.

The giant wolf shadow dissolved into darkness.

And suddenly…

Ren just looked exhausted.

Rain continued falling quietly around them.

He stared down at his own shaking hands silently.

"…What was that…?" Kaito whispered.

Leo lowered his head slightly.

"…The bloodline of Kaelvar."

Vincent slowly stood while holding his side.

Even injured, he smiled faintly.

"The kingdom calls him the Wolf Prince," he said calmly. "A ruler born with the spirit of the wolf."

Ren said nothing.

Because honestly—

He looked more afraid of himself than anyone else was.
