Even after Princess Nadya left, Cecilia didn't immediately get up and leave. Silence enveloped her. And at that moment, her mind was working harder than usual.
What Princess Nadya said wasn't wrong. Cecilia had no obligation to help Aram, especially now that she knew their chances of victory were slim to the point of being impossible. Cecilia could have withdrawn from the fight for the throne of Liban and returned to Magenta quietly. She could also have betrayed Aram to collaborate with Princess Nadya for control of Liban. There were many more profitable options than risking Magenta for a mere foreign prince.
"Sigh."
Even so, Cecilia didn't feel like doing that was the right thing. She had seen how Queen Liban ruled her kingdom. If the throne fell into the hands of Princess Nadya, who cared nothing for her kingdom, Cecilia couldn't imagine the chaos that would ensue in Liban.
