Chapter 196 - Ch-196 Shanks's Left Hand.

Although Shanks felt very happy, he was curious at the same time. What exactly had Raphael done to suddenly create a completely new technique for him—a skill that would allow him to instantaneously regrow his limbs?

The thought lingered in his mind for only a moment before he asked directly, "What exactly did you do, Raphael, that you created such a powerful skill so quickly?"

Raphael's calm, refined voice responded at once. "Master, you are quite a rare person to possess both types of chakra nature—Yang Release and Yin Release."

Shanks' brows lifted slightly at that. He nodded and said, "Yes, I definitely know about the Yang Release. After all, I belong to the Uzumaki clan, and the Uzumaki clan are mostly born with huge vitality. So we definitely have Yang nature chakra in us." He paused briefly, then added, "But I didn't expect that I also had Yin Release."

Raphael explained patiently, its tone even and analytical. "Although the Haki you are using originated as an ability from One Piece world, in its essence, it is an application of Yin Release. That is why you can spiritually affect someone with your Conqueror's Haki, create an invisible armor out of thin air, and sense chakra signatures or life forms around you. All of this is a form of Yin Release application."

Shanks fell silent for a second, absorbing those words. His reflection in the mirror seemed to stare back at him differently now.

"Yes… I didn't think in that direction," he admitted slowly. "But now that you mention it, it definitely seems to be the case." His eyes sharpened with interest. "So how exactly did you create this Instantaneous Regeneration technique of mine?"

Raphael replied without delay. "I will explain it in simple terms. It is primarily the coordinated use of Yin Release and Yang Release. First, using Yin Release, you will create a ghostly form of your left hand—a complete blueprint, including chakra points, veins, bones, muscles, and cellular structure."

As Raphael spoke, Shanks could almost visualize it: a translucent, spectral outline of his missing arm forming in empty space.

"After the blueprint is completed," Raphael continued, "Yang Release will stimulate your cells to divide and generate accordingly. The physical matter will be constructed precisely based on the Yin blueprint. In this way, regeneration is achieved almost perfectly."

Shanks stood there quietly after hearing the explanation. His gaze slowly drifted again to his missing arm, but this time, the emptiness did not feel as heavy.

So that's how it works…

A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

He was purely satisfied—more than satisfied. In fact, he felt extremely fortunate that he had obtained Raphael. The level of analysis, the precision, the ability to combine concepts and create something entirely new so quickly…

Raphael truly was a broken kind of ability.

Raphael asked calmly, "Would you like to start, Master? But before that, you would have to cut the healed part of your left arm, because that will be a hindrance."

Shanks nodded after hearing Raphael's words. It was quite reasonable. The previously healed stump would interfere with the complete reconstruction of the limb. There was no hesitation in his eyes.

He stepped out of the bathroom and into the main area of the house. Mikoto was there, quietly doing some simple kitchen chores, cutting vegetables with steady hands. The soft sound of the knife meeting the cutting board echoed gently in the room.

She looked up at him and raised an eyebrow. "You took so long, and you still haven't bathed yet. What were you doing in the bathroom?"

Shanks replied casually, "I was just thinking about something. Don't worry." His tone was calm, almost light. "For now, you just remain here. I have some work to do."

Mikoto studied him for a brief second, but before she could ask anything further, Shanks had already turned away.

He went inside his room and immediately picked up his sword, Gryphon, which rested on the horizontal stand. Without wasting another moment, Shanks opened the window and jumped out.

In an instant, he disappeared, moving at a rapid pace across the terrain, wind rushing past his body. Within moments, he arrived at an empty location, outside Uzushiogakure, surrounded by a small group of trees. The air there was still, the ground undisturbed.

Landing lightly, Shanks unsheathed his sword. The metallic sound rang softly through the quiet area. He looked at the healed portion of his left arm, his expression firm.

This is necessary.

Just as he was about to bring the blade down—

A ripple in space formed beside him.

Guy appeared instantly, using teleportation. He stood there, looking at Shanks, who was wearing only his vest and holding his unsheathed sword in a ready position.

Guy's brows furrowed slightly. "Did something happen, Onii-san? Is there some sort of issue that you needed to come here urgently—and in this manner?"

Shanks exhaled slowly and said, "What I am about to do right now is definitely something that I would not like Mikoto to see. Because if she sees me doing this, then she will just panic for nothing, and I don't want to give her stress."

Guy blinked, confusion clearly written across his face. "I don't get it, Onii-san," he said. "What exactly do you mean by this? What exactly are you going to do that you wouldn't want sister-in-law to see?"

Shanks said firmly, "You stand there and watch carefully—and don't overreact. I know what I am doing."

After saying this, he lifted Gryphon and placed the blade against the healed lump of flesh on his left arm. The cold steel touched skin.

Guy's expression changed instantly. A bad premonition gripped him. "Brother, what exactly—"

Before he could even finish his sentence, Shanks swung.

The blade flashed.

The healed portion of his left arm was cleanly severed and fell onto the ground with a dull thud. Blood immediately began flowing from the freshly cut part of his arm, staining the earth beneath him.

Guy's eyes widened in shock. "What are you doing, Onii-san? Why are you harming yourself?!"

Pain shot through Shanks' body, sharp and intense. His jaw tightened for a brief moment.

Just then, Raphael's calm voice sounded in his mind.

"Master is feeling pain. Created skill <>."

Before Shanks could even respond properly, the pain vanished. It was as if it had never existed. His breathing steadied.

In his mind, Shanks said, Raphael, you are a lifesaver.

He then looked toward Guy and said, "Believe me, what I am doing is not foolish. I know what I am doing."

Without wasting time, he gave the next command inwardly.

"Raphael, initiate the Instantaneous Regeneration skill and heal my hand."

The moment the command was given, Shanks felt something change. The control over his body slipped away. He was no longer consciously controlling his chakra—or even the movements within his own body.

Yet he could feel everything.

He could sense the chakra flowing, weaving, restructuring with absolute precision.

From the cut portion of his left arm, a ghostly hand began to form. It was translucent, sky-blue in color, like a construct shaped purely from chakra. The outline was detailed—fingers, palm, veins, even chakra pathways faintly visible like a luminous blueprint.

Guy stood there, staring at the sight in disbelief.

Then the next phase began.

The cells at the cut surface started dividing at an astonishing speed. Bone structure formed first, emerging along the chakra blueprint. Muscles wrapped around it, layer by layer. Veins and arteries extended like living threads. Flesh knit together seamlessly.

It was both slow and fast at the same time—each stage clearly visible, yet happening with terrifying efficiency.

Minutes passed.

The air around them felt charged.

After almost a quarter of an hour, the process came to an end.

A fully formed left arm now stood where there had once been nothing.

Raphael's voice echoed in his mind. "Regeneration complete. Master, your left hand is now fully formed."

Shanks slowly lifted his newly regenerated arm. He opened and closed his fingers. Flexed his wrist. The movement was smooth—perfect.

Then he threw a punch.

The sound of air splitting followed.

Another punch.

And another.

With each movement, a loud laugh escaped his mouth, uncontrollable and filled with exhilaration.

He stabbed Gryphon into the ground and began rapidly punching with both hands, alternating strikes, feeling the power flow evenly through his body.

He was laughing.

He looked toward Guy, his eyes bright. "My left hand grew, Guy! My left hand grew. I'm happy."

Guy, who had watched the entire process in stunned silence, finally allowed a smile to spread across his face as he saw Shanks smiling like this.

Shanks pulled Gryphon from the ground. This time, he gripped the sword with both his right arm and his newly restored left arm.

He swung it horizontally.

A powerful flying sword slash burst forward, tearing through the earth in front of him. The ground split cleanly in half as the attack continued onward, traveling far beyond the land of Uzumaki—reaching the sea itself.

The ocean parted under the force.

The cut extended for more than five kilometers, carving a massive scar across land and water alike.

Shanks threw his head back and laughed again.

"Ha ha ha ha ha! This is how it feels to swing my sword at my full strength!"
