In 1980, there was a scientist named Andrew John who lived in California. One day, while he was in his laboratory conducting research on space, he accidentally mixed the wrong chemicals, resulting in a massive explosion.
There was a group of three friends—Kim, Jim, and David. They lived in Chicago and studied at the same college. It was their final year, and the college had just closed for a short break. Since they loved going camping, they decided this was the perfect time for an adventure.
After some discussion, they agreed to go camping in California. Excited and full of energy, they packed their bags and set off on the journey. Several hours later, after a long but scenic drive, they finally arrived at their camping spot, ready to make new memories under the open sky.
When they reached their camping spot, it suddenly began to rain—completely unexpected, as the weather forecast had shown clear skies. Caught off guard, they quickly began searching for shelter to avoid getting soaked.
After a few minutes of rushing through the woods, they stumbled upon a cave nestled between two large boulders. Overjoyed, they ran toward it, thinking they had found the perfect refuge. But their relief was short-lived.
The cave was in poor condition. Cracks lined its walls, allowing rainwater to seep inside, forming puddles on the uneven ground. To make things worse, small but menacing insects crawled along the damp surfaces, glowing faintly in the dim light. The air inside was musty, and the constant dripping of water,
forced them to leave the cave, they eventually decided—after much discussion—to venture out. Their clothes were soaked, clinging to their bodies as they trudged forward. After a while, they discovered a door-like entrance within another cave. Curious and cautious, they stepped inside. Suddenly, a blinding flash of light erupted before them—and just as quickly, it vanished. All of them were gone. What happened to them? That's a mystery we'll uncover in Chapter 2
