"Hey, Sun! A little help here?" Miles shouts as he fights off the Dire Wolves with his twin pistols
"Sure, but I hope you like your meat well-done!" Sun says, giving a slight smirk.
Miles creates a Protective barrier around himself while Sun flies up and sends a fireball amplified with wind magic straight at the helpless wolves. All of the wolves fall to the ground, dead and stained charcoal black by the flames.
"It's been 3 months since Legunica, and your flames are way stronger than ever!"
"Your creation magic is no joke either, Miles. You never would have been able to make a barrier that strong at the academy!"
"Well, anyway. I think we're ready, we're strong enough to visit the demon realm."
"I have to save Moon, for Mom and Dad; it's what they would've wanted."
"Hey sun, isn't that a city, direction of the sun?"
"Yeah! Now that I think about it, it is!! Let's head there, hop on Leon."
"Leon? What kind of name is that?"
"Shut up! It needs a name, flame dragon is corny anyway, now let's go."
*15 minutes later*
"Sun, when are we gonna get there? It's getting really boring."
"Stop being annoying, Miles, we're about to arrive, so just slow your boat."
"I didn't create a boat, though."
"It's a metaphor, idiot, now let's go."
*Sun and Miles walk into the city only to realize nobody is there, it's deserted, a wasteland filled with nothing*
"Uh… Sun, what are we gonna do?"
"What we came here to do, open the gate to hell and save Moon."
"But there is nothing here."
"There's a house right there."
"Are u blind, Sun? It's half destroyed, nobody will be living there."
"Let's just go see if anyone lives there."
"It's quite literally falling apart, and did you not hear me? Who would live there?"`
*Sun and Miles walk into the house, searching it and looking for any signs of life*
*20 minutes of looking around the place pass when suddenly, Sun and Miles hear a loud THUD coming from another area. They find a crack in the wall of what appears to be a door*
"Stay back, Sun, there could be something in there. First, let me break it down."
*Miles summons two huge Gauntlets and breaks the wall down, giving passage to a different area inside, entrenched and absorbed with darkness*
"Miles, stay back, let me light the path. We need to be careful, we don't know what lurks inside."
*Sun then ignites a flame from his staff as a torch and walks into the darkness. Miles follows, then the duo walk for what feels like forever*
*3 minutes pass of wandering in a hallway, the feeling gets more intense as the duo feels they are getting nowhere*
"Sun, I'm tired of this. Why does my brain feel scrambled as if we've been walking for hours?"
"I don't know miles, but something seems to be messing with our heads. I don't have a good feeling about this. We need to get out, and fast. I think I know just how."
*Sun opens his hand and launches explosive flames at the wall, burning a hole big enough to fit a person.*
*Sun walks through as Miles follows closely behind. The duo spots an empty room with an aged temple monk who seems to be sitting in the middle of the room, chanting and reciting old spells*
"Hey old man, my buddy Sun here is looking for a gate to the underworld. Think you could help him with that?"
*The temple monk stops reciting his spells and faces Miles & Sun. Then, he starts to speak*
"Why do little children like you feel the need to go to one of the deadliest places known to mankind?"
"I'm looking for a demon, They took my sister whe-"
*The temple monk then interrupts Sun*
"When the calamity came, yes?"
"How would you know about that? My village didn't really have a thing for monks and stuff."
"The monarch is a divine being; he sees all, knows all, and is all."
"Who is this Monarch you're talking about? And what does he have to do with you?"
"That is for me to know and for you to eventually find out, young one."
"Miles, let's get to the point. Old man, we came here for, you know, the whole Moon thing, my sister got kidnapped by someone speaking Makain. Can you help us with that?"
"Yes, I can. Go rescue my granddaughter for me. She has blue hair and her name is Hinata. A group of bandits captured her. They want ransom money, but I'm flat broke."
"Where is she?" Sun asks.
"By the river."
Miles kicks down a wall, and the two walk right on top of it towards the river.
"STOP BREAKING, MY DAMN, HOUSE!"
"It's already unlivable," Miles responds.
Miles and Sun arrive at the river only to find a white haired swordsman slicing all the bandits with an energy blade.
The boy says, "This weapon seems to be on the level of Yamato. I think I'll keep it." In makakin tongue.
"It's you! The guy who took my sister, and now you're after Hinata!"
"Nah, I didn't kidnap your sister, and this? I just came to test my new sword."
The man quickly dashes away while Sun screams, "Hey! I didn't say you could leave."
Sun charges up his new move, Pyro Burst, a high-level magic attack that uses flame, wind, and thunder magic and then transfers it to a destructive beam.
Miles holds his wrist ."We'll get him later, first we should save the girl, she should be inside that hut."
Miles and Sun walk over to the hut, open the door, and find a girl with blue hair lying on a bed.
Sun grabs his dagger and cuts the rope off.
"Thank you for freeing me, however, what were your motivations in doing so? Also, what are your names?"
"I'm Sun, he's Miles, we're looking for my sister Moon, your grandpa supposedly knows a way to possibly find her."
"My grandpa? He's been dead for months, the Calamity got to this village and ruined everything."
"Someone must've revived him then, cause he was alive, probably the monarch or whatever he was on about."
"Well then, let's head over there. I can't wait to see him!"
The trio runs towards the house and arrives before Miles says, "Is there a quicker way besides that secret pathway thing?"
"We can just go from the back door."
"There's a back door?" Sun confusingly asks.
The group walks around the house before finding a tatami mat door. They walk in and find the old man sitting down, facing them.
His voice slowly distorts, and his appearance starts to resemble that of a high-level mimic as he says, "You brought the girl to me. Exactly how I asked, now her magic will be mine!"
"Not a chance, monster," Sun says as he charges up his Pyro Burst
"Not a chance, human." The mimic says as he transforms into Miles, creates a katana, then slices up Sun's hand and staff.
Sun collapses onto the floor, screaming in agony.
Hinata recites a spell, and Sun's wound closes up. "I'll heal your injuries later, right now, focus on surviving."
Miles rushes towards the mimic and creates a greatsword, "Don't copy my abilities if you're gonna use them to hurt my friends!
"Friends, huh, I'm your only one though." Sun painfully whispers.
Hinata uses a strength and speed increase spell on Miles before Miles jumps into the air and uses a blade slam on the mimic.
The mimic dodges before the two get into a barrage of slashes. Miles then transforms his blade into a gun and fires at the mimic's head.
The mimic's head falls apart, before it starts to regroup and reassemble.
"It seems it's a magic-vulnerable mimic, you can tell by its tongue, the end of it is purple."
"Magic, huh, this is for that hand you cut off, and my staff., Sun says before releasing a fully charged Pyro Burst.
As the Pyro Burst strikes the mimic, it explodes into a splatter of filth.
Hinata stands in awe as she watches the beam tear through the atmosphere and form a massive crater in the earth.
"Hey Hinata, you think you could heal my arm now?!" Sun yells in a pained voice.
"Ok, here, give me a second." Hinata starts to chant as she is enveloped by a white light. The light slowly starts to fade as bright particles flow into the Sun's arm, restoring it to its original state before the attack.
"Sun, what are we gonna do now? We don't have a way to get to Makai."
"We'll figure that out tomorrow, right now, we need a healer for our party; Hinata, join us in our adventure, we could use your holy and healing magic."
"Seeing as how I have nowhere else to go and this craphole isn't getting me anywhere, why not?"
"Well, that was quick. Anyways, let's get some rest, then we can find a pathway to Makai tomorrow morning."
The group enters the house, and Miles creates two beds., Hinata enters one of them while Miles and Sun enter the other.
"Sorry, I'm kinda worn out, two is the most I can make today."
The party falls asleep before being rudely awoken early in the morning by what appears to be a rift in space.
"Hey Miles, just what the hell is that?"
"It seems to be a portal, and judging by its blood red color, it must lead to the demon realm."
"Couldn't have had any worse timing, but this is our chance, let's head in, guys!"
The party jumps into the portal and sees a dark red dimension resembling the underworld, Hades' Palace.
The realization hits them, and they all drop to their knees, struggling to breathe from the filthy atmosphere.
"I can *cough* give you guys *cough* a healing spell *cough* for your lungs."
"*cough* Thanks, Hinata."
Hinata extends her hand out and scatters light particles throughout each of their lungs.
"Much better."
The group stands up and walks towards the gate, "We're quite literally opening the gate to Hell, huh, Sun?"
Sun tells the two to back up before he unleashes a fully charged Pyro Burst ."I figured out a way to charge it while I'm walking."
Once the smoke clears up, the door is revealed to be completely unfazed, there is no fire damage, wind damage, or thunder damage.
Hinata scoots Sun aside before quickly blasting a bit of Holy Magic on the door, the door slowly swings open, revealing another door twice the size.
"Of course. We can never have it easy. You know, I've always wondered why misfortune has to follow us around. Like it's funny to see us struggle or whatever."
"It's ok, Hinata can open this one. Right?"
"About that, Holy Magic doesn't affect this one."
"Huh, what do you mean it doesn't!?" Sun, confused, starts wondering how to fix their problem. Just then, he sees a shadowy figure dash into the darkness.
"Guys…? You saw that, right?"
"Saw what?" Miles and Hinata look around, confused as to what Sun is trying to tell them.
Sun yelled," Whoever's there, you can come out! We're not afraid to fight you." Sun ignites a ball of flames in his hand.
"We honestly don't want any trouble, I'm just trying to find my little sister."
The figure, in English, says, "Looking for a kid? Why here? This doesn't seem like a place a kid would want to be. Doesn't take someone with a brain to figure that one out now, does it?"
From the shadows appears a demon knight with skeleton armor, sprouting horns, dark purple wings, and a dark mana blade.
"My name is Atlas, Son of the Almighty Sparda, Heir to the Throne, Knight of Makai, and Ruler of the Abyss."
