Var alighted from the carriage, dragging an unwilling Ember with her. "Make a wrong move, and I shall scar that pretty face of yours so badly you will wear a mask your whole life." She threatened Ember with a hiss, her powers flickering at the tips of her finger like coiling thunder.
Ember pretended submission, head slightly bowed as she took in their surroundings. Before them was a mountainous landscape—gaint in structure while still managing to loom above them. But the strangest thing was not the mountain itself, but the fact it looked like it was early morning already when it was very much night before they entered the carriage.
"Is it morning already?" She gasped, unsure if her eyes or memory were deceiving her.
Var scoffed. "Seems you've never heard about Ravaryn's midnight sun. Visible only from the view of their southern mountains." She commented as if the phenomenon was anything remotely normal.
