Khaos chuckled. "I see she told you nothing, and you won't be hearing it from me. But you must have heard that she went missing for a whole year when she was still a Princess of the Andals?"
Ember stiffened at that. She hadn't gotten that piece of information up until Nyra recounted the tale when they were in Vaskor.
"What about it?" She asked slowly.
He released her arm, his fingers creeping up to tuck a lock of her hair behind her ears. The act was seemingly innocent. Yet there was nothing innocent about the way her ears turned red from heat. And his lips that curved into his notorious half-smile certainly didn't look innocent either.
"Let's just say what haunts you hunts her too." He drawled with a shrug, and the play in words didn't exactly elude her.
