Chapter 146 - Captain America Is Also a Scientist?

"No, Thor, I wasn't involved in Vision's creation. I think I led the creation of Vision!"

Tony Stark corrected Thor's inaccurate statement with a serious expression. "I built Vision's neural system! And for an artificial intelligence robot, what's the most important thing?"

"The neural system!"

Without waiting for anyone else to answer, Tony Stark emphasized his point.

"Alright Stark, we all know you're amazing!" Captain America, however, interjected, dampening the mood. He gestured to everyone, "Let's refocus on the question."

Following Captain America's reminder, everyone present composed themselves, ceasing their casual conversation and refocusing their attention on the big screen.

They examined the four options on the screen.

"Guys, who is Vision? Sounds like he's an intelligent robot?" Doctor Banner looked at Tony Stark and the others, somewhat bewildered.

Hawkeye Barton was also looking at everyone, as these two hadn't participated in the quiz before and didn't know much about Vision.

"Vision is a very powerful intelligent robot," Captain America briefly explained to the two of them the information they currently had about Vision.

"So, we should first pay attention to whether there are any scientists among the options," Hawkeye Barton made a basic judgment.

Then, he turned his gaze to option B, "Bruce Banner, he's the only scientist in the options."

"So, Doctor Banner can be ruled out?" Thor immediately glanced at Doctor Banner.

"No, no, no... Although I have many doctoral degrees, my research topics aren't related to intelligent robots," Doctor Banner shook his head. "I'm not actually familiar with this field."

"I don't think I would participate if someone really wanted to build robots. I'm not an expert in this area."

"According to what you said, Vision might be the most advanced and powerful robot in the world, and scientific research has always been rigorous. Whoever leads this kind of project would probably look for top experts in the relevant fields."

"That makes sense. Building a robot like Vision isn't something the top people in the field would even have a chance to get involved in," Hawkeye Barton agreed, nodding.

"No, Doctor Banner!" Black Widow offered a different perspective. "It's just that you're not an expert in that field now, that's all."

This was a critical moment.

"Doctor Banner, you have so many doctorates. Your intelligence isn't any less than Stark's. Do you know what Director Fury says about you?"

"When you're conscious, you're a genius on par with Stephen Hawking!"

Black Widow continued, addressing Doctor Banner.

"Thank you for the exaggeration, but that's really flattering… Wait, does your director know me?" Doctor Banner asked, staring intently at Black Widow.

"Nick Fury is the head of the world's largest intelligence agency. And you, Doctor, when you turn green, are the most powerful monster in the world, so…"

Tony Stark shrugged. "It's not that strange, and there's something else."

Speaking of which, Tony Stark seemed to recall something, his eyes gleaming. "Doctor Banner, what you were discussing earlier was just ordinary intelligent robots, but what if Vision is a bio-synthetic robot?"

Bio-synthetic robot?

Doctor Banner was slightly stunned. This was an extremely cutting-edge topic, existing only in theory.

It was even more like the product of brainstorming; it would be more accurate to call it scientific fantasy rather than scientific theory.

"I know something about you. You're the best in organic biology, and if Vision is a fully anthropomorphic bio-synthetic robot, your knowledge would be useful."

Tony Stark said with great certainty.

"A fully anthropomorphic bio-synthetic robot, is that even possible?" Doctor Banner questioned.

"Not now, of course, but we're talking about the future!" Tony Stark shrugged. "In the future, I can even create armor that can resist the Infinity Stones, so... nothing is impossible!"

"There's something else," Black Widow added, remembering something. "This project might actually be, as Stark said, led by him. Otherwise, why would Stark sacrifice his Jarvis?"

"I don't think Stark would make that kind of sacrifice for a project led by someone else."

"Of course not, Romanoff!" Tony Stark nodded in agreement.

"So, it's very possible that Stark invited Doctor Banner out of personal connection. Aren't you all members of the Avengers in the future?"

Hawkeye Barton added, chiming in.

After everyone's discussion and analysis, Doctor Banner's participation in the making of Vision was entirely possible.

"So, overall, Banner may have been involved in Vision's creation. We'll tentatively include him," Captain America summarized their analysis.

Of course, it was only a possibility. No one knew for sure if he was actually involved.

"Ultron?" Thor focused his gaze on A. "Isn't Ultron Vision's enemy? Vision and Ultron even fought in Sokovia."

"Are Ultron and Vision enemies?" Doctor Banner sounded surprised. "Then A might be worth considering."

"No, I don't think the relationship between Ultron and Vision is that simple," Captain America shook his head. "During the last quiz, we saw footage of Vision. He knew a lot about Ultron, Banner..."

Captain America turned his gaze to Doctor Banner. "In the footage, you even questioned Vision, 'If you are the monster Ultron wanted to create,' something like that. It's possible Ultron was involved in Vision's creation."

"If you are the monster Ultron wanted to create," this sentence was packed with information and still very useful for everyone to consider.

It at least showed that Ultron wanted to create a monster like Vision.

But did he actually do it? Did he really make one?

They didn't know, but for the sake of the quiz, it was enough to make their judgments.

"That's right, there's more to it than meets the eye with Ultron and Vision." Tony Stark nodded as well. "And, Ultron likely possesses an AI program even more advanced than Jarvis!"

"So, theoretically, Ultron absolutely has the technology and capability to participate in Vision's creation!"

"But the question already told us Vision was the result of many people working together!" Thor questioned. "Ultron and the Avengers are enemies! Stark also participated in Vision's creation, so Ultron shouldn't have worked with Stark...or even Doctor Banner, to create Vision, right?"

"Not to mention, Ultron seems to despise Stark. He even cut off someone's arm because they mistakenly thought he was Stark's creation."

Everyone on the scene began to think. Thor's words made a lot of sense.

Given the relationship between Ultron and the Avengers, it seemed truly unreasonable for them to have worked together to create Vision.

"Maybe it was like this," Black Widow pondered for a moment, and put forward a viewpoint. "Ultron was originally on Stark's side, and only later became enemies."

"We saw in the previous images, Stark said something like 'breaking Dad's heart' when he saw Ultron, but Ultron didn't refute the term 'Dad'."

"We all saw how much Ultron detested Stark, but he tacitly approved of the term 'Dad'!"

"Maybe Klaw is right, it's possible Stark created Ultron!"

"It's just that, for various reasons, maybe Ultron got a virus, maybe he developed self-awareness like in some movies... In short, he later broke with Stark."

"We can't rule that out!" Captain America nodded seriously.

The relationship between Stark and Ultron was extraordinary, that much was clear.

What exactly that relationship was, no one knew yet, but in short, Ultron's involvement in Vision's creation was a possibility that couldn't be dismissed.

"Ultron is also a maybe!" Tony Stark agreed, saying, "I think we should focus on the last two options."

"If we're talking about who's least likely to have been involved in Vision's creation, it's definitely those two."

"One is an old soldier who lived during World War II, severely out of touch with modern society, and doesn't even know how to use a smartphone~ Captain, I'm right, aren't I? You probably don't know how to use a smartphone, right?"

"A smartphone, what's that?" Thor asked curiously before Captain America could answer.

Everyone: "..."

This was even more outrageous!

"One doesn't even know how to use a smartphone, and the other doesn't even know what a smartphone is!"

"And Vision is possibly the most advanced artificial intelligence robot in the world, even more advanced than Ultron!"

"I really can't believe that the two of them could be involved in the creation of such a high-tech, cutting-edge intelligent robot."

"I even suspect that this question might be different from our previous ones. All our previous questions were multiple-choice, but I think this one might be a multiple-choice question!"

Of course, the multiple-choice thing might be Tony Stark exaggerating.

But Captain America and Thor were the two strongest "candidates" for this question, and no one had any objections to that.

"Captain, you wouldn't happen to have some hidden talents you haven't revealed, like, are you actually a scientist?"

Black Widow, after some thought, couldn't help but ask Captain America to confirm.

Everyone else present stared intently at Captain America as well. If Captain America gave an affirmative answer, the answer to this question would immediately be clear.

It would definitely be Thor.

However, what disappointed everyone was that Captain America shook his head, "No, Romanoff, I'm just a soldier. I don't know anything about science."

Well, they still couldn't see the possibility of Captain America.

Then, they could only place their hopes on Thor.

"Is it possible that Vision is not just a purely scientific creation? Is it possible that some kind of magical means were also used?"

"We've confirmed that magic exists in this world, and Thor is a real god. Shouldn't he also know magic?"

Hawkeye Barton brought up another possibility.

"No, Barton. That flashy stuff is only for the weak!" Thor shook his head directly. "My mother wanted to teach me magic when I was young, but I refused."

"So, you don't know magic?" Barton asked again, making sure.

"I don't know that stuff." Thor said, very sure of himself.

"Is it possible that Thor learned magic in the future, and that's how he got involved in Vision's magic creation?"

Doctor Banner racked his brains, finally managing to come up with a possibility.

"Although I think it would be a huge challenge for Thor, given his intelligence, to learn something as profound as magic! It would be an even bigger challenge than Captain becoming a scientist through studying over the next few years, but…"

Speaking of "but," it means the focus is about to shift, and everyone turned their attention to Tony Stark.

"Do you all remember Vision's entrance during the Civil War? He just descended from the sky, hovering in the air. At the time, I was actually thinking, how did he do that!"

Under everyone's gaze, Tony Stark gave a serious analysis. "Obviously, he doesn't have propellers, nor does he have jet propulsion like my Mark armor..."

"Magic! Stark, are you saying Vision's flight might be using magic!" Black Widow's eyes lit up, and she couldn't help but say emphatically.

In terms of technological means, there are only a few ways to achieve flight, but Vision's flight is obviously not any of them.

So, the more logical explanation is that Vision's flight doesn't rely on scientific means, but magic.

"So, Thor really might have participated in Vision's creation? Regarding the magic part?" Hawkeye Barton concluded.

Everyone looked at each other, though they still felt it was a bit far-fetched, the possibility wasn't entirely nonexistent.

Thor is, after all, a god from Asgard, possessing divine power. His mother, brother, and father all wield incredibly potent magic.

Even if Thor doesn't know magic now, who's to say he won't in the future?

After all, it's more plausible than a war veteran from World War II becoming a scientist and helping to create the world's most advanced robot.
