"Tabby," I called out when I saw my best friend in the infirmary. She was curled up in the corner of the dark room and immediately got up when she heard my voice. After looking around for a moment, she approached me and took my hand. "Are you okay?"
"Why are you here? Didn't they see you come in?" Tabby asked, and I shook my head. "So it's true."
"What's true? Has anything happened while I'm not around? I came to free you," I replied. She shook her head vigorously, then shook my body.
"Shenna, promise me you won't do anything rash. They're looking for you. I mean, anyone who came with me. If they find you..."
"Why? What will happen if they find me?" Tabby didn't answer immediately but bit her lip. "Tabby, tell me."
"Have you heard the rumors about the evil ghost in this pack?" Tabby asked, making me frown.
