The Atmosphere shifted around her. It became tense as she forgot everyone else existed.
Her eyes scanned the boy with black fluffy hair and fangs.
If he was the boy Tiffany had told her about then she was right all along .
This boy was everyone's type.
" Hey, I'm Harley. " A short girl approached Veronica as she stood there in awe.
" H - Hey. " Veronica said ,still thinking of how cute the boy was.
His pink lips , his small nose , hid fluffy black hair and blue eyes.
He looked like a dream.
" I'm new here too. Ive been here for 4 months. I kinda live across the street now." The short girl said and Veronica still looked dazed.
" I'm from another country. My friend Tiffany told me about how fun it is here." Veronica said beaming and the girl infront of her looked extremely sad as soon as Veronica said the word fun.
She stormed off without another word.
" Is something wrong ? " Tiffany walked over to Veronica and she shrugged.
The other kids were eating pizza and chatting to themselves.
The cute boy sat by himself , seeming to listen to music and she thought about going to talk to him but she was too nervous to do so.
She said on the opposite side of the room , facing his direction but avoiding his gaze.
' Boys this pretty were out here all along ? ' Veronica wondered as the boy gently bobbed his head to the beat of the song he was listening to.
The kids chatted , filling the living room with noise.
There were about twelve people in the room.
Six boys , six girls and the feeling that they were doing something they weren't supposed to do.
Veronica felt drawn to the boy with black fluffy hair. He was wearing a dark blue hood and jeans.
She was captivated by his presence.
" Let's play truth or dare." A tall boy with brown hair announced and two girls sat around him giggled to themselves .
The boy with the blur Hoodie called at her silently and she stood up and followed him outside.
He smiled at her. She was about to ask him his name when he kissed her making her feel an energy that she's never felt before.
His eyes lit up as they stood outside the house
She stared at him , enchanted by his beauty.
" What's your name? " The girl asked , but the boy just grabbed her and kissed her again.
This kiss felt like a message, a reassurance that she was going to be ok.
He pulled away from Veronica and she had wished he'd kissed her forever.
" Maybe we should go back inside - " Veronica started but the boy pulled her by her arm , bring her to a cabin a few minutes away from Tiffany's house.
He kissed her passionately out there , where no one could see them.
She wanted to resist and go home but for some strange reason she couldn't. She just let him kiss her as much as he wanted.
He held her close to him , her body relaxed , her cheeks became decorated by a burst of red.
' What's this feeling ? Love ? Is this what Love felt like all along. It's amazing. It feels like I'm floating. '
" Hey what's your name ? " She asked the boy with black fluffy hair again when they had finally broken away from the kiss.
" My name's Alex. What's your name, Princess ?" The boy infront of her smirked as he reached his hand out to brush a few strands of her red hair from out of her face.
She blushed.
" Veronica. " She said , staring at the ground.
" You're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life and that means a lot considering the fact that - " He started speaking but she interrupted him.
" We should head back now." She said and he nodded.
He pulled her hand into his and walked her back to Tiffany's house.
As they neared the house , they started to see flashing lights.
There was caution tape around the house.
Her eyes widened as police stood outside.
She ran towards the house pulling Alex along with her but he pulled her back.
" It's not safe. Stay behind me. " He told her and she did as he said.
" What happened? " She asked the police as she approached them, but they ignored her.
" It seems that something attack the kids while they were playing board games." The officers talked among each other.
"We need to make sure anyone who lived her never comes back."
Veronica eyes widened as she snuck by the cops with Alex standing infront of her.
She stepped into the house and was immediately started by the sight of blood covering the hallway floor.
She felt sick and almost vomited.
Her eyes became teary as she moved away.
She scanned the place for Tiffany but she didn't see her.
" You can come stay at my place until you feel better." Alex said , pulling her into an hug and comforting her.
" OK. I'm gonna call Tiffany she said between sobbing and when they pulled out of the hug she took out her phone and called her friend.
" Hello ? Tiffany ? Tiffany are you ok ?" Veronica asked desperately but no one answered the phone .
She called again and it went to voicemail.
Veronica started pacing back and forth.
She called again.
" Hello , Tiffany ? Are you ok ?" Veronica asked again.
There was the sound of crying on the other end of the call.
" Jessss ! Oh God . Veronica . That thing killed Jess ! It killed everybody at the sleepover, but it took away the only boy I had ever loved. " Tiffany cried bitterly on the other end of the call and Veronica's eyes widened again.
Alex felt moved by Tiffany's words for the first time. He could relate to the love she felt because he was feeling the same way for Veronica. He felt pity for Tiffany.
' Fuck ! Is this really happening. The people in this town are known for playing sick jokes. Maybe this is a fucking prank.They all can'tactually be dead.'
" Tiffany. Where are you now ? "
" I'm staying with an Aunt. Oh God ! I want my Jessie back so bad ! " Tiffany kept crying and Veronica felt horrible, sadness filled her up and her face bent into a disheartened frown.
" Text me your address. I'm coming over. "
The air outside was getting colder and Alex just stood there watching Veronica.
He watched every move she made, the way she fidgety with her hands and walked back and forth anxiously.
The wind blew her hair gently as she moved.
Alex's eyes lit up.
He was in love with the girl infront him.
He wasn't sad about what had happened. He found it hard to be sad when he had just been kissing such a beautiful girl.
She said hung up the call after talking to Tiffany and walked towards Alex who immediately held her hand.
" Tiffany's not doing so well. I'm going to visit her now. "
" Veronica don't worry. I won't let you get hurt. " Alex said , reaching out to brush her hair again.
" Let's go. " Veronica said , pulling him and he walked away with her.
When they got to the main road they called for a taxi.
" Hey little girl. You look so pretty." The taxi driver said as he pulled up in his yellow car.
Alex glared at him and he drove off frightened by the boy's angry look.
They stood there waiting for another taxi and when it arrived they greeted the older woman and entered the car.
There was music playing from the car radio. A love song started as the entered.
Veronica showed the driver the address
" The ride will cost ten dollars to go to your destination. " The older woman told them and Veronica paid.
She drove off with Alex and Veronica in the back of her car.
She turned her radio down as a soft love song played.
Alex held Veronica close.
" Young woman do you believe in ghosts ? " The driver asked and Veronica stared at her , not knowing how she should reply.
" I don't. " Veronica said after thinking about it for a while.
" Well you certainly should. This neighborhood has been crawling with ghosts and demonic entities. People like to say this town is filled with pranksters because they don't want to accept the truth. The dead are here in this town." The driver said and Veronica felt uneasy.
Alex laughed as if the story was the most ridiculous thing he'd ever heard and Veronica started laughing too.
" This isn't a joke. Your friends just died right ?"
" H - how'd you know that? "
" Well I can see ghosts and I can hear them sometimes. I was told that you just came here but you might be the answer to changing this madness. Either that or you might end up like the rest of them. " The taxi driver said.
Alex squeezed Veronica's hand gently and held her face.
He stared into her eyes.
" Don't listen to her. You're gonna be safe. " Alex told the girl and she nodded.
She rest his head on his shoulder.
" There's a mountain around the place you're going to, past the park and filled with oak trees. People dissappear there all the time and what's funny and sad is that the town tells people they're just doing a big game of Hide and Seek. " The older woman said, and then she turned to face Veronica.
" Hide and Seek ? " Veronica asked , creeper out by the idea.
" Hide and Seek. The thing is when tourists think it's just a welcoming community with silly games they don't take it seriously. It's not Hide and Seek if no one's looking. Don't play." The woman warned Veronica and she nodded at her.
She kept driving then she turned at an intersection.
" We're here." The driver said and Veronica and Alex got out the car. They approached the Tiffany's Aunt's House and Alex stopped suddenly.
" I'm going to go. I have something that i need to do , but I'll come back for you when you're ready to leave. " He stood there staring at her.
She hugged him.
" Take my number. " She said and she took the old newspaper from her pocket and a pen.
She ripped the news paper , wrote down her number on it and gave it to him.
" Don't listen to that old woman. The people here are flicked up , but I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. " Alex told her and she furrowed her eyebrows , her green eyes scanned his face.
" Why ? " She asked.
" If you hide I'll seek." He said ,an attractive smirk appeared on his face.
