Ficool

Chapter 27 - Clone-2

The two figures stood facing eachother in the white plain.

Hajin, carrying a sword and Jinwoo with a fireball floating.

Jinwoo swiftly threw that fireball, but Hajin easily side-stepped.

Hajin immediately rushed towards jinwoo and drew an arc, jinwoo blocked it with a water shield.

Hajin turned around and attacked from the other side.

The unpredictable strike slammed into Jinwoo, his water shield barely absorbing the blow

Jinwoo used a blow of wind to stop and landed safely.

Just then, Hajin vanished.

Jinwoo's eyes widened. 'He became even faster?'

In that moment, Hajin striked from behind, cutting a horizontal arc.

Jinwoo ducked, quickly turned around and landed his punch into Hajin's gut.

Jinwoo, without hesitation, summoned a fireball in his other hand and blasted it right into Hajin's chest at point-blank range.

The explosion lit up the white void, a shockwave rippling out. Hajin gritted his teeth, sliding back, smoke rising from his uniform. But his eyes—sharp, unwavering—didn't falter.

"...You've gotten faster," Hajin muttered, gripping his sword tighter.

Jinwoo's lips curled into a grin, though his breathing grew heavier. "Of course, I have."

Without warning, Hajin lunged again. His sword danced—slashes so fast they carved faint black trails in the air, like cracks in the white space itself.

Jinwoo raised his arms, flames and wind weaving into a spiraling shield. Each clash shook the void, fire scattering into sparks, steel ringing against raw magic.

But then—Hajin vanished once more.

Jinwoo spun, sweat dripping, eyes darting everywhere. Behind? Above?

The sound came—shk!—a blade grazing his cheek.

Jinwoo froze. Hajin stood just inches behind him, his sword resting lightly on Jinwoo's shoulder, the edge cold against his skin.

"…Checkmate," Hajin whispered.

For a moment, they both froze.

Until Jinwoo's lips curled. "Idiot."

Suddenly, the blade broke in to fragments. Jinwoo turned and shot a fireball once again, but Hajin backed away fast enough.

"What the... What kind of trick was that?"

For a moment, Hajin was confused, until he noticed something.

he saw the hidden weapon.

It was a thread. A mana thread. Thin, strong and in the hand of a maniac.

The threads whipped around, snapping through the air like steel wires. Jinwoo tugged his fingers ever so slightly, and the threads curved, cutting shallow scars into the white floor.

Hajin narrowed his eyes, circling, he threw his broken blade and another new one was summoned in his hands.

"It seems this will go for long. How about we have a talk?" He said.

Jinwoo flicked his wrist, the threads lunging forward. Hajin parried them with his sword, sparks flying as steel met mana. Each clash shredded more of his weapon, but he pressed on, closing the gap.

"Good idea. I do have a lot of questions. Who should start?"

At the last second, Hajin planted his foot and spun, his sword catching three threads at once. He yanked hard—forcing Jinwoo forward.

But Jinwoo only smirked. Another fireball appeared in his free hand, burning brighter than the last.

"You can have the first ones" Hajin replied as he side-stepped, grabbing jinwoo's hand and throwing him away.

Jinwoo once again landed gracefully.

"How about you explain the situation of *your* world? It seems we are of parallel worlds."

Hajin vanished and appeared in front of jinwoo, sliding a top diagonal arc.

Jinwoo used the threads on his fingertips of both his hands to stop the sword.

Hajin pressed his sword harder. "Well, considering what you said about systems, it's the same. People awaken talents called Riyhs. The abilities depends on the soul of the person, as you can see. Mine is Swordmaster."

Jinwoo wrapped the sword in the thread, turned himself and flungged it out of Hajin's grip.

He then turned around shot his fist at Hajin's face. "It's not the same. The system is similar but there's no relation between the soul and the abilities of the hunters."

Hajin took the hit and counter attacked, hitting jinwoo's face,

"Hunters? Here, they are called balancers."

but jinwoo spun, and landed a kick on Hajin's chest, sending him flying once again.

"balancers? That's a strange name."

Hajin slid on the white floor and reached for his weapon, he then stood there for a second a drew a silver arc that was cutting through the air and reaching for jinwoo.

"Well, Balancers is a term that means those who bring balance between the humans and monsters."

Suddenly, the arc started to shine and a yellow electric energy chaotically danced just before exploding into the smoke.

As the smoke settled down, jinwoo stood unharmed. His left hand inside his pocket, the right one shooing away the dust. His Hawaiian shirt was almost worn out.

"Still a lame name tho. The Rihys is the only cool na-" He said, hurling up another fireball on his palm as he spoke.

"Can you stop with the fireball? It's annoying as hell. I swear if I had my broadsword." Hajin interrupted, pointing his sword at jinwoo.

"Is broadsword the trend nowadays? I see many people use it."

"Sure is" Hajin replied, and immediately vanished.

"Can you stop vanishing too? It's so naseus or.. nausas.. ugh how do you say it?.." Jinwoo went into his own thoughts, forgetting the dangers before him as a fist was planted into his chest.

He was sent flying, but this time he couldn't use the wind control and landed harshly, sliding on the ground.

"It's nausea.... I think.." Hajin said, summoning another sword into his hand.

Just as Hajin summoned the sword, he saw that jinwoo was already up.

"This is taking too long..". Jinwoo said, pointing his palms at the sky, a small flare erupted, birthing a tiny fireball.

Suddenly, it grew big. At first, his own size, but sooner, at least a 100 metres.

Hajin stared in amazement. But that wasn't the end of it.

The fireball became smaller once again, it had became dense.

After that, tiny sparks of blue and yellow lighting covered the fireball like a net.

"What are you even doing?" Hajin asked, but jinwoo ignored him. Rather, he took his other hand out and construed a dark blue energy ball.

Slowly, he brought them closer.

The space shook, as if hit by an earthquake. Unimaginable amount of energy erupted like volcano from the hands of jinwoo as the two spheres mixed together.

Hajin put up his sword to defend form the energy leaking out, but it soon disappeared.

He put down his sword and took a glance at Jinwoo, just to now see him holding a purple sphere.

"What's that?" He questioned, holding out his sword in defence.

"Death." Jinwoo threw that ball at him.

The ball bounced, once, twice and thrice as it finally reached Hajin's foot, and before he could even react, a sharp sound echoed.

A purple light pierced into the sky, divided into many parts and started coming back like rain.

BOOOOMM!!!

Explosions ate up the realm as it cracked and sucked up both Jinwoo and Hajin just before they were able to be turned into dust.
