The Metropolis of the Land of Demons.
Priestess Shion looked worriedly into the distance. This had been her constant state since Sasame left. Her life was at stake, so she couldn't be so relaxed.
"Your Highness, Priestess!" Ashisuke's panicked voice came. Shion's body stiffened, and she slowly came back to her senses, looking at the rushing captain of the guards.
"Is something wrong?"
"We just received a message from the Cloud Village's ninja eagle. Yomi has unsealed Mōryō's soul and is already heading to the Land of Swamps." Although Ashisuke tried his best to suppress his inner fear, his trembling voice still betrayed his true emotions.
"What?" Shion's small mouth slightly parted, somewhat disbelieving. "That fast?" She remembered it had only been a day since Yugito Nii and the others left.
"Your Highness, Priestess, what should we do now?" Ashisuke's face was pale. "Should we continue to ask the Five Great Villages for help?"
"It's too late. By the time they arrive, Mōryō will have broken the seal, gained a physical body, and fully revived." Shion stood up, subconsciously clenching her fists. "Since it has come to this, we can only trust the ninjas of Konoha Village."
"Your Highness, Priestess, we..." Ashisuke stopped halfway through his sentence. The Cloud Village couldn't stop Yomi, and Konoha Village would probably have difficulty too. Although Sasame was said to be very powerful, he was ultimately human and had limits. How could he defeat a foreign monster like Mōryō? It was a well-known fact in the Land of Demons that only a Priestess with special powers could seal it. And now, that was Shion. Ashisuke had originally wanted to ask her, should we go to the Land of Swamps? As a last resort? But that question would undoubtedly be asking her to go to her death. He had watched Shion grow up and didn't want to reach this point.
"Let's go to the Land of Swamps," Shion glanced at him, already guessing what he wanted to say.
"Your Highness, Priestess..." Ashisuke hesitated, but didn't know what to do.
"As the Priestess, this is indeed my responsibility," Shion exhaled. "And I trust Sasame. Things won't reach the worst possible step." Ashisuke was stunned. Trust Sasame? He didn't quite understand. In his perception, Cloud Village and Konoha Village were actually quite similar. The former had already failed; could the latter, facing an even stronger Yomi, succeed?
"No time to lose. Immediately send a message to Sasame, tell him we are on our way, and that he must persevere." Shion displayed the demeanor of the Land of Demons' Daimyō.
"Yes!" Ashisuke's spirits lifted, and he returned to normal. Since Her Highness the Priestess wasn't afraid, why should he be?
The Land of Swamps. After a small punishment for Yugito Nii, Sasame returned to the Seal Temple with satisfaction.
In the courtyard. Ōtsutsuki Kaguya was instructing Hyūga Hinata. Sasame didn't disturb them, but leaned against the doorway, watching. Two beauties, one big and one small, quite interesting.
A moment later, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya turned and walked up to him. Her snow-white eyes scrutinized him up and down, and after confirming he was fine, she asked, "How was it?" Just as Sasame was about to answer, he felt his body lighten, and he was already embraced by Ōtsutsuki Kaguya. He subconsciously clamped his legs around her waist to avoid falling.
"..." Sasame twitched his lips. Usually, he was in Ōtsutsuki Kaguya's role. He didn't expect a reversal today. It was very strange. But not unacceptable. He pressed his face against hers, sniffing the faint fragrance from her snow-white neck. "It was good. I've taken my revenge."
"So you're fine now?" A ripple of water flashed in Ōtsutsuki Kaguya's beautiful eyes.
"Wait," Sasame looked at her expression and knew what she wanted to do. But the problem was, ten days was too long. By the time he came out, Mōryō would probably have truly conquered the ninja world.
"The matter of the Land of Demons isn't over yet," Sasame subconsciously tried to pull his arm free, but it was held even tighter. He couldn't help but complain, the way of heaven is truly cyclical. He had just punished Yugito Nii, and now it was his turn. This script isn't right!Sasame never dreamed that he would stumble in such a matter one day.
"What else?" Ōtsutsuki Kaguya frowned. "I'll do it."
"..." Sasame was dumbfounded. What's wrong with you? Are you bad at it but addicted? Oh no, you're not bad. Sasame felt that Ōtsutsuki Kaguya had already treated him as chakra. Although the strange XP had been corrected, too much was as bad as too little.
"No, you don't need to do it," Sasame quickly shook his head. His purpose this time was to train Hyūga Hinata. If Ōtsutsuki Kaguya interfered, there would be no fun.
"..." Ōtsutsuki Kaguya bit her red lip, looking at him, her eyes holding a hint of resentment and sparkle. But to Sasame's surprise, she indeed restrained her desires. How to put it? Quite cute.
Sasame lightly kissed Ōtsutsuki Kaguya's lips. "I'll pay for one day first." The next second, he appeared in Amenominaka. He felt like an onion, being peeled layer by layer. Finally, he was made to cry, unable to stop.
Hyūga Hinata was a bit confused. She clearly saw Sasame, but in a blink of an eye, he was gone. And her new teacher also disappeared at the same time. After thinking fruitlessly, Hyūga Hinata continued to practice her Gentle Fist.
Night fell. She wiped the sweat from her face and turned to see Ōtsutsuki Kaguya and Sasame. The former had a rosy complexion and a smile, a look Hyūga Hinata had never seen before. Because ever since she met Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, she seemed to have only one expression: no expression. The latter was leaning against the wall, his legs aching and sore, his face slightly pale, forming a stark contrast with the former. Hyūga Hinata had also never seen Sasame in such a disheveled state.
"Brother Sasame." She quickly went forward. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Sasame waved his hand. "I had a fight with someone. You should prepare too." Hyūga Hinata's small face immediately became serious upon hearing this. In her mind, Sasame was invincible. An enemy that could make him so serious must be very powerful. Thinking of this, she couldn't help but feel nervous.
Just as Sasame was about to speak, he heard a commotion outside the door. He listened closely and heard the words "Your Highness, Priestess." Had Shion arrived?Sasame thought to himself that this young girl was more courageous than in the original story. He took a few steps to the temple entrance. Shion, dressed in her priestess attire, finished greeting the guards, noticed him, and then scurried over. She gasped for breath. "Did you receive the message I sent you?"
Sasame shook his head. He had been in Amenominaka all day and simply couldn't spare a hand.
"Yomi and his undead army are about to arrive!" Shion looked at him with expectation. "You said you had a way to deal with Mōryō after its revival."
"I do," Sasame met her gaze and nodded. Shion visibly broke into a brilliant smile. She said, "You better not lie to me."
"Why would I lie to you?" Sasame suddenly smiled. "If I couldn't deal with it, I would have already left this place instead of staying here to die with you." He spoke very bluntly, but the smile on Shion's face grew even wider. She exhaled. "What do you need me to do?"
"If it's to deal with Mōryō, nothing is needed," Sasame paused, then extended an invitation to her. "But are you interested in joining my organization?"
"Konoha Village?" Shion was slightly startled, subconsciously asking.
"No," Sasame smiled. "It's Heavenly Mandate."
"Heavenly Mandate?" Shion murmured to herself. She was a priestess who believed in fate, so hearing these two words gave her an inexplicable feeling. So much so that she didn't even consider why a Hokage would establish an unknown organization outside.
"Heavenly Mandate is not about believing in fate," Sasame, who understood Shion well, said calmly. "I am Heavenly Mandate."
"..." Shion's body trembled upon hearing this, and her face showed an extremely astonished expression. This was indeed quite different from the organization she had imagined. Or rather, completely opposite. For some reason, she felt a little excited. From childhood, she had lived by prophecies, her life already planned out. Now, someone was telling her that she should control her own destiny. How bold, and how thrilling. Shion was just a young girl, in her rebellious phase.
"If you can handle Mōryō, I'll join," she thought for a moment. After all, if he couldn't handle it, she would have to sacrifice herself. At that point, nothing else would matter.
"No problem," Sasame smiled knowingly. "Then you just wait."
The conversation ended. A ravenous Sasame went to eat his fill. After all, he hadn't eaten for a month, only consuming "rouge and powder."
Shion stayed awake all night, waiting for Yomi and his undead army. However, she didn't know that they were all controlled by Sasame. They spent the night not far from the Seal Temple.
The next morning. After breakfast, the ground beneath their feet gradually began to tremble. Shion and Ashisuke and the others quickly ran to the entrance of the Seal Temple, their eyes widening. They saw countless terracotta warriors surrounding them, making it impossible to pass. Even though the Priestess's guards were carefully selected, facing such a spectacular sight, their hands still trembled, almost dropping their weapons.
"Shion!" Yomi, covered in black mist, suddenly spoke. "Let's merge into one!" The Priestess and Mōryō were actually of the same origin. The two merging into one would create the true foreign monster. This was also why successive Priestesses could seal it. Shion subconsciously hid behind Sasame, her face full of resistance. Who wants to merge with a weird old man like you?! And you're ugly!
Sasame couldn't help but smile. Although he controlled Yomi and Mōryō, they were actually free. Therefore, these words were not at his instigation.
"Since you're unwilling, don't blame me!" Yomi snorted heavily, then raised his right hand. "Attack!" The terracotta warriors advanced again, densely packed like a tide, surging towards the Seal Temple.
"Hinata," Sasame immediately called out. Hyūga Hinata heard him and took out the Demon-Breaking Bow, aiming an arrow at the foremost terracotta warrior. Arrows quickly formed and flew rapidly away. With a boom, as if dozens of explosive tags detonated simultaneously, a chilling aura swept through the nearby terracotta warriors. In an instant, they turned into rubble. Under normal circumstances, the rubble would re-condense after a moment. But due to the Demon-Breaking Bow's special ability, all souls and Yin Release power were absorbed, becoming nourishment.
Shion and Yomi were both shaken by this scene. The former hadn't expected such terrifying energy to erupt from Hyūga Hinata's small body. The latter was surprised that the terracotta warriors hadn't revived. Hyūga Hinata, however, ignored their reactions. She only had time to glance at Sasame before becoming incredibly busy. Because there were simply too many terracotta warriors. If she wasn't careful, they would swarm over. On the outer perimeter were the Priestess's guards. They were just samurai with a little chakra, roughly Chunin level. They were a rare species that would shatter upon impact.
Hyūga Hinata's mind moved, and she drew the bowstring. Immediately, five arrows appeared. Then they flew out in unison, requiring no precise aim to cause large-scale damage. The best part was that no matter how much was consumed, it would quickly replenish, and even more.
Shion became increasingly astonished. If she remembered correctly, Hyūga Hinata was Sasame's student. If the student was already like this, how much more incredible must the teacher be? But she didn't notice that Yomi was just standing there, talking big, and not actually making a move. This was naturally Sasame's command. First, let Hyūga Hinata train a bit, at least enough for her to sufficiently understand the Demon-Breaking Bow.
"Be careful!" Shion suddenly shouted. "There are some stragglers!" A few terracotta warriors ran in front of them. Sasame was about to make a move, but it was already too late. Ōtsutsuki Kaguya merely shifted her eyes, and the terracotta warriors in front of her all turned into dust. That's right, particles invisible to the naked eye. Shion's mouth immediately dropped open. Her small head was blank. Although Hyūga Hinata's Demon-Breaking Bow was grand in scale, it was far less absurd than Ōtsutsuki Kaguya's display. Shion began to ponder a question. What was going on with the Cloud Village ninjas? Were they too weak, or were Sasame and the others too strong? They were all from the Five Great Villages, after all.
A few minutes later, Shion finally realized something was off.
"Why is he just watching? Is he preparing something?"
"Perhaps," Sasame casually brushed her off. "But it doesn't matter, I'll make my move." Shion subconsciously nodded. Regardless, those words sounded very reassuring.
Sasame waited a few more minutes, and when he saw Hyūga Hinata looking tired, his eyes flickered slightly.
"Shion!" Yomi roared loudly. "I've given you a chance!" Countless black mists soared into the sky. In mid-air, they formed a dark purple octopus monster with numerous tentacles. It excitedly rushed towards the loli at the temple entrance.
"This is Mōryō's true form," Shion swallowed. "Please be extremely careful!" As soon as her words fell, Sasame clasped his hands together.
Sage Art: Wood Release: Deep Forest Emergence!
The ground rumbled, and giant trees rapidly appeared, forming a continuous expanse. In a blink of an eye, the area around the Seal Temple was filled with a forest. The charging octopus monster, just as its dozens of giant tentacles extended, was immediately entangled by various branches and vines. So, as they say, those who like tentacles will eventually be entangled by tentacles.
Shion stared blankly at this scene. She couldn't understand. Mōryō, whom the Land of Demons had feared for so many years, was resolved so easily?
