Land of Waves, Daimyō's Residence

The moment Sasame pushed open the door, his vitals were locked in place.

"…?"

His eyes widened in surprise.

Uzumaki Ena was dressed in a black-and-white maid outfit.

Sleeveless and off-the-shoulder, the white fabric was cinched at her slender waist by black ribbon straps. Below, a pleated miniskirt barely concealed her hips, revealing long, pale thighs.

Kneeling on the floor, she tilted her head up, gazing at him with hazy eyes as she slurred, "M-Master…"

Sasame was puzzled.

This behavior was unlike her.

Just then, Uchiha Mikoto stepped out in an identical outfit.

Compared to Ena's boldness, she was flushed with embarrassment, her face burning red.

The two knelt side by side—different in appearance, yet harmoniously paired like twin sisters.

"Alright," Sasame crossed his arms, leaning against the wall as he looked down at them. "Who's the mastermind here?"

After a brief, flustered exchange of glances, Mikoto swallowed nervously and confessed, "It was me."

"I thought so."

Sasame wasn't surprised. He chuckled and patted Ena's head.

She was always obedient. Without encouragement, she'd never act out like this.

Ena gritted her teeth, wanting to apologize, but her duties as a maid kept her occupied.

"Master, please don't blame Ena," Mikoto said meekly. "This was all my idea. I… I wanted the Uchiha clan to return to Konoha sooner."

"I'm not blaming her."

Sasame shook his head, smiling. "You just wanted to see Sasuke, didn't you?"

"…Yes."

Mikoto didn't dare hide it.

"No need to rush."

Sasame studied her expression, satisfied. "Actually, I came back today to discuss this very matter."

"Thank you, Master!"

Mikoto eagerly moved forward, taking over Ena's duties.

"Master, let's sit while we talk."

Ena didn't mind. She lifted Sasame into her arms and began massaging him.

"For the Uchiha to return to Konoha, we need a convincing story."

Sasame met Mikoto's anxious gaze. "If you just reappear, people will connect it to that 'mysterious powerhouse' from before. That's not ideal."

"Then what should we do?"

Ena asked on Mikoto's behalf.

"Officially, you're still missing."

Sasame tapped his chin. "Let's say you escaped during the massacre, fled west, and settled in the Land of Water. You lived in hiding until Kirigakure reopened and Konoha got a new Hokage—then you decided to reach out."

Of course, the details had to be airtight.

They needed traces of their presence in the Land of Water for Konoha's intelligence to verify.

Not a problem.

Sasame was close to Mei Terumī. Faking records would be easy.

"Feel better now?"

"Mmm…!"

Mikoto choked back tears of gratitude.

"It'll take a few days to arrange. Be patient a little longer."

Sasame opened his mouth, accepting a grape Ena fed him.

Mikoto coughed, regaining her composure. "I-I can wait."

"Good."

Sasame stood. "It's hot. Let's take a bath."

From morning till dusk, the two maids worked tirelessly—until exhaustion finally claimed them, leaving them curled together in sleep.

Sasame marveled at how quickly women bonded.

In no time, they'd become inseparable sisters.

Time passed.

On the eve of Sunagakure and Konoha's alliance, the ANBU intercepted a highly confidential letter.

Though its origin was unknown, the encryption methods used were exclusive to Konoha's upper echelons.

After decryption, the letter was revealed to be from Uchiha Mikoto—long presumed dead.

The ANBU operative, Antelope, immediately delivered it to the Hokage's office.

"Quite the ordeal."

Sasame finished reading. "Summon the council."

The Uchiha's return wasn't a decision he could make alone.

"Yes, sir!"

Antelope vanished.

That afternoon, the Hokage's conference hall.

Unlike the general Jonin meeting, this gathering was smaller—limited to advisors, the Hokage Guard, the head of the Military Police, and clan leaders.

Fewer than twenty people in total.

"I've called you here for an urgent matter."

Sasame, seated at the head of the table, spoke calmly.

As he did, he noticed Shimura Tadamichi flinch, panic flickering in his eyes.

The man likely assumed his secret dealings with Danzō had been exposed.

"Take a look."

Sasame gestured.

Behind him, Yūhi Kurenai distributed copies of Mikoto's letter.

Soon, murmurs filled the room.

After Itachi's massacre, the Uchiha had been erased from Konoha's history.

Now, they were back.

"Hokage-sama."

Nara Shikaku stood. "The letter states thirty-two Uchiha shinobi and three hundred civilians survived. That aligns with our investigations—but we can't confirm its authenticity. This could be a trap by Kirigakure."

"A valid concern."

Sasame nodded. "We'll investigate thoroughly. The ANBU will handle it."

No objections followed.

This was the ANBU's expertise.

"Hokage-sama."

Tadamichi spoke gravely. "Even if it's true, we shouldn't allow the Uchiha to return."

Though he framed it as concern for Konoha, Sasame knew it was pure spite.

"Why not?"

Sasame's gaze sharpened.

Under that pressure, Tadamichi stiffened. Since when did this brat feel so imposing? He reminds me of Hiruzen…

"The Uchiha are lunatics. If one Itachi emerged, another could follow."

Tadamichi suppressed his unease. "If his blade turns on Konoha, the consequences would be catastrophic."

"At their peak, perhaps. But now? Thirty-two shinobi."

Sasame smirked. "Are you that afraid of them, Shimura-sama?"

"I—I'm not!"

Tadamichi blurted—then realized he'd walked into a verbal trap.

What the hell just happened?

"Then it's settled."

Sasame waved dismissively. "Any other objections?"

"None."

The unified response from Hyūga Hiashi and others made Tadamichi look like a fool.

His face twisted between rage and humiliation.

Fine. If this is how it is…

His hesitation vanished.

He'd commit fully to Danzō's plan—mobilizing the entire Shimura clan to ambush Sasame and his entourage.

Meanwhile, on the road.

The journey to the Land of Water would take at least two days for shinobi.

With Mikoto's group including civilians, add another day.

Since Sasame was en route to Sunagakure, he entrusted the matter to Tsunade.

She and Mikoto had once been close.

The news thrilled her—but no one more than Uchiha Sasuke.

He'd been training with Naruto when he heard.

After his fight with Zabuza, he'd identified a flaw in the Sharingan: obstructed vision.

So he blindfolded himself, sharpening his hearing by dodging Naruto's projectiles.

"Sasuke-kun! Amazing news!"

Sakura's voice cut in.

Distracted, Sasuke barely avoided a kunai.

He yanked off the blindfold, scowling. "You're too loud."

"S-Sorry!"

Sakura wilted.

"Nah, noise helps the training!"

Naruto grinned, punching Sasuke's shoulder. "What's up, Sakura-chan?"

"Oh! Right!"

She perked up. "Sasuke-kun, they found her!"

"Found who?"

Sasuke's voice was flat.

"Your mom!"

Sakura beamed. "And the rest of the Uchiha clan! They're coming back to Konoha!"

"What?!"

Sasuke's eyes widened. He grabbed her shoulders. "You're serious?"

Sakura froze—then internally cheered.

He's touching me!

"It's true! The village already posted the notice!"

Without another word, Sasuke bolted toward the streets.

"This is great."

Naruto smiled. "Now he won't be alone anymore."

"He was never alone."

Sakura pouted. "He had us."

"Yeah."

Naruto nodded. "Let's catch up."

[Due to your actions, the fates of Uchiha Mikoto and Uchiha Sasuke have shifted. Total Fate Points gained: 130.]

Sasame smirked.

Sasuke really is a goldmine.

Over a hundred points from just two people.

"Hokage-sama."

Kurenai approached. "It's getting late. Should we stop for the night?"

Sasame hadn't used the Flying Thunder God.

This was intentional—to mislead the Shimura.

Few knew of his space-time jutsu.

If the Shimura realized, they might abort their ambush.

And where's the fun in that?

"Yes. We'll reach our destination by tomorrow."

As the Hokage, Sasame had his own tent.

Leaving a shadow clone behind, he went to 'play' with Mikoto and Ena.

Ever since their first two-on-one, he'd developed a taste for uneven battles.
