The reason behind the emergence of the singularity can be traced back to an event that had occurred sometime between the moment when Ron was in the process of formulating the calculations for the Quasiparticle Transporter and the time by which his brother had come on board with his grand plan.
During that particular time, Ron had met an especial difficulty when trying to formulate the calculations for Teleportation.
But after a few restless nights, diligence and perseverance, he was able to grasp and put into consideration, one fundamental variable that held the entire concept of teleportation together:
The inexorable expansion of the universe.
Setting this concept as a baseline for his thesis, Ron was able to understand that the reason why most people think that Teleportation can't truly be evident in reality was because: they couldn't tell how fast of a rate the expansion of the universe was.
Although they were quite accurate in their deduction regarding the elusive nature of the information concerning the rate of the universe's expansion, Ron thought that there may be another way to circumvent that concept to push the favour to his side.
That was when he thought of this: "Instead of trying fruitlessly to grasp this particular aspect of the universe, perhaps I can manipulate it to do exactly what I want."
And it was at that moment he created the calculations for the Quasiparticle Transporter.
The device was tailored to be able to manipulate the expansion of space and time, bending its energy to however its user deems necessary.
What this entails is that If the universe's space-time attribute was initially expanding at a certain rate to be able to create a distance as big as New York City in a matter of seconds, the Quasiparticle Transporter would be able to harness that same power to do something similar to that.
However, Ron did not need the device for that specific function.
In his theory, he stated that if the Quasiparticle Transporter was able to control and expand the universe, then perhaps it could also shrink it to a considerable extent.
This was the part where the true function of the device came into play.
Having given the ability to influence space-time, the device was able to expand and shrink distances whenever its user wanted to.
To put in a better perspective, we would assume that the distance from Russia to California is merely a few thousand miles, but with the Quasiparticle Transporter, one would have the capability of shrinking those few thousand miles to just a few meters—if not centimetres, thereby creating an effective visual representation:
A portal.
The portals may vary in distance, which would be an unfortunate attribute of their initial distance.
At that particular moment when Ron had transported his first robot to the Amazon, it barely took a few seconds for it to reach its destination, which was because: its initial distance was nothing compared to the extent the device could actually reach.
So theoretically, if one were to travel from here to Pluto, it would take that person a few minutes to reach there, instead of a few years.
And if one were to travel from one country to another on the same planet, it would take seconds to achieve that transport.
This was every boon that had accompanied this particular variable which Ron had thoughtfully considered. However, he had failed to take into notice another variable. A variable that would do nothing but nullify the entire thing he had spent several months in building.
Ron had failed to consider the fact that there was a limit to the length the Quasiparticle Transporter could continue manipulating space-time.
It may have been his obliviousness or ignorance, but one thing had already been made clear and certain:
The universe had come back to bite him in the nuts.
During the entire duration of their testing—a few hours earlier, Ron had constantly consumed a cumbersome amount of the Quasiparticle Transporter's energy, thereby decreasing its influence and hold on the universe's space-time.
With the subduing force weakened to a considerable extent, the universe's space-time broke free of the hold the Quasiparticle Transporter had on it.
So now, with the absence of any obstacle in its way, it continued its routine expansion, expanding and drawing the Quasiparticle Transporter's signal to a very distant void of nothingness, which harboured only one, singular planet.
This lone planet was so isolated that it had no moons or other planets revolving around it.
It just floated in space, alone, in loneliness and in isolation.
However, the one distinguishable thing about this mysterious planet was its size.
It was so big and massive, it may be classified as a full-blown galaxy on its own.
This planet alone could devour the Milky Way galaxy and still have enough room for more galaxies to fill it up.
And this was the planet whose signal was caught by the Quasiparticle Transporter.
Now, not only was the planet indescribably massive, but it could somehow donate a portion of its energy to the Quasiparticle Transporter via signals transmitted by it.
Of course, having an affinity for such signals, the Quasiparticle Transporter quickly assimilated and filled itself with the energy of this mysterious planet.
In the process, it initiated a transport sequence to that planet — This phenomenon being what had prompted the emergence of a singularity inside Ron's testing room.
If it had been just one singularity that had been prompted, then that second variable wouldn't have been so bad after all.
But sadly, it wasn't the case, and that one singularity wasn't the only one that was to appear on Earth.
After the Quasiparticle Transporter accepted the signal from that mysterious planet, it sort of linked itself to it, thereby creating a bridge useable for traversing distances between Earth and the strange planet.
But the distance between them was impossibly vast.
That was when the Quasiparticle Transporter assumed its role of shrinking distances.
The shrinking mechanism may have been slow at first, but as the process continues, it would eventually speed up a bit before becoming constant and consistent, and would inevitably shrink to its optimum distance.
As more time wore by, the distances between the two planets shortened even faster than the rate it initially had.
But tragically, this phenomenon was accompanied by a grave cost. A great cost which would serve as a severe backlash to the earth's overall gravitational functionality.
A visual effect of the nature of this backlash could be observed in one of the many homes in Mexico.
**
In a semi-detached domicile, just several miles away from the border of Mexico and America, a young couple could be seen exiting their humble home and making their way towards their car.
However, their son, a young adult, at about 18 years, who was also their only child, stood at the door, watching them as they entered and started the car.
He waved and bade them goodbye as they drove off in the direction of their place of work.
Even though the day had only gotten barely above 8 'o'clock in the evening, the boy's parents had to be at work due to an impromptu meeting whose announcement had been brought to their attention that late at night.
As soon as the boy's parents drove off, their car disappearing into the mass of cars on the street, the boy returned inside the house and made a phone call to his girlfriend, requesting her company for the next few hours of his parent's absence.
But on the other line of the phone call, the boy's supposed girlfriend seemed a bit sceptical about visiting him that late at night. She also found it a bit uncharacteristic of her boyfriend to call her for something of that nature.
She was a bit stunned by its triviality.
However, after a few moments under her boyfriend's relentless persuasiveness, she finally caved, deciding that it couldn't possibly hurt anyone if she reached a compromise.
"Okay, I'll be there." The girl said.
"Cool," The boy replied delightfully. "Then I guess I'll get started on the popcorn while I select a cool film from my dad's vintage film set."
"I'm cool with that, so long as it isn't of the horror genre."
The girl's latter statement was met with no reply from her boyfriend's side of the line. But not really thinking too much about it, she hung up her phone and got ready to go to his house.
***
The distance between the couple's houses wasn't that far a walk for the girl, so she arrived at her boyfriend's house within a short span of a few minutes.
She was welcomed with a warm hug by the boy before he guided her to the living room, where they were going to watch a movie.
A few minutes into the movie, the girl started displaying a rather tense expression as she fixated her eye on the television.
"What's wrong, Anna?" The boy asked.
Slightly frightened, Anna answered: "I had told you earlier that I didn't like horror movies. Why pick this one, of all others?"
"Sorry." The boy answered flatly and turned his attention back to the movie. "Also, I couldn't find films of a different genre, so..."
The girl sighed with an eye roll.
"I'm going to get something to drink from the kitchen," She said defiantly. "Have fun with your movie." Then she smacked his head with a couch pillow.
"Mhm... Oww...?!"
While it wasn't a rare occurrence of having to get smacked in the head with a pillow or slipper, it was, however, an absolute absurdity of the phenomenon that was just about to unfold in the backyard of the very house the pair were currently in.
***
Inches above the rose garden in their backyard was an odd atmospheric anomaly, which made the air vibrate vigorously as though it were made of physical material.
But that was certainly a description from someone who didn't know any better.
The truth was that the air was, in actual fact, roiling in an isolated and definite form.
In fact, if one's vision weren't hampered by the blackness of the night, one would certainly see that the roiling air had assumed an oval-shaped, portal-like form.
But that wasn't at all the entire thing that took place in their garden, because in the next couple of seconds, amidst this seemingly roiling air, a small shimmering light materialized, giving a tinge of light to the surrounding roses.
But then, in an abrupt manner, this light expanded in an oddly silent explosion of light, before reshaping to form a singularity. A smaller, less-brighter version of the one that had appeared inside Ron's Bunker.
Still oblivious to the sudden existence of a singularity in their backyard, the pair in the house were still preoccupying themselves with their various activities.
And they certainly couldn't see a long, slender, and frail-looking finger protruding outwards from inside the singularity.
Then, as if having sensed the space that lay on the other side of the singularity, the owner of the gaunt finger moved further outwards, thereby exposing its entire body as it slowly stepped out of the singularity.
Standing to reach a height of at least six feet was a sickly, old woman, who was garbed in a hooded, flowing and tattered black robe that billowed eerily in the cool night air.
Gripping tightly in her left hand was a crooked, wooden staff, that had a red crystal-etch at the top of its head.
Also, the staff as a whole could stand alone to have at least a whole foot on this mysterious woman.
Beneath the cloak's hood was a very dirty and unkempt hair, loosely hanging in strands from her old and wrinkled scalp.
Her face, If anything, had further accentuated her overall mystifying features and ugliness.
With a pair of glowing red orbs for her eyes, this old slattern had pale, fragile skin with an elongated nose, which slowly contorted in contempt as soon as she perceived the sounds of laughter coming from the living room, where Anna and her boyfriend were.
This strange old woman who had just exited a singularity was generally known as a Shtriga.
A Shtriga holds a peculiar depiction in some native lore as a frail witch who derives sustenance after feeding on the souls of other humans, particularly children — as they have a weaker constitution to resist her power.
And right now, owning to her immense stroke of luck, she had emerged inside the immediate vicinity of two couples, who were not only passing out time in their own respective ways but were still oblivious to her presence.
As her red orbs darted aimfully in an attempt to locate a possible route to head in the direction of the sound she had heard, she soon spotted a path that led to their garage, and then into the house.
Tightening her grip on her long staff, she proceeded in that direction.
The staff would have been an effective tool in supporting her weak frame during motion, however, Shtrigas were also known to have, and always have been able to be untethered from the earth:
They move by gliding several inches above the ground.
The staff was merely a tool used in channelling her magic, and also a medium used to absorb the souls of her unfortunate victims.

Inside the house, Anna and her boyfriend were still oblivious to the threat that existed barely a few meters away from them.
For the boy, it could be easily attributed to the fact that he was fully immersed in the movie he was watching. But for the girl, Anna, it was so because she had long drifted off to sleep on the same couch as her boyfriend, Aaron.
But as the movie slowly dragged its way to its finale, Aaron, the boyfriend, suddenly heard tweaking sounds coming from the back entrance to the living room.
At first, Aaron had thought that it may have been a few rats scurrying past his doorway, but somehow, something inside him made him a bit uneasy. This was because The tweaking sounds coming from that very door was a very distinctive sound, seeming as if someone was trying to get the door to open.
But as a few seconds passed, the sound abruptly ceased, like it had never been emitted in the first place, leaving the room oddly serene and quieter than it was.
However, the room wasn't the only thing that had undergone a slight change:
Aaron who still maintained his position on the couch, felt the sudden fall in temperature around his immediate vicinity.
He had initially wanted to investigate the strange noise coming from the backdoor of his living room, but as the sound seemed to have stopped as abruptly as it came, he decided to regulate his temperature a bit.
He did so by pulling Anna, his still sleeping girlfriend, closer to his bosom as he pressed a soft kiss on her forehead.
"You're beautiful." He muttered.
They kept each other closer and warmer for a while. But in the next few seconds after the boy's movie finally came to an end, the temperature in the room fell even further.
Only after arriving at that point did Aaron finally decide to do something about the temperature fluctuations in his living room.
"The damn Thermostat is acting up again." He muttered yet again. "I thought we had that fixed the day before."
However, as he got ready to pull away from his girlfriend's embrace, he incidentally caught a glimpse of something dark from his peripheral vision.
He didn't want to, but out of sheer reflex, his body seemed to have moved by itself.
His head turned to behold the dark figure he had glimpsed earlier.
Lo and behold, the Shtriga was standing barely a few inches from his face, her figure mystifying, fear-inducing, and even more evidently, cold-invoking.
For the next few seconds, Aaron's body and mind seemed to have finally decided to betray him because the more he tried to will himself to move away from the terrifying creature, the more he felt even more paralyzed.
"W-Wh... Wh‐... What... the devil?" He barely choked out this set of words.
But however, the Shtriga's main purpose hadn't been to win a staring contest against the petrified boy.
Even if she was, the boy would probably lose, anyway.
She was only here to do one thing. And that one thing involves absorbing the life out of the sleeping girl who is still nestled in the boy's bosom.
Aaron's trembling pupils darted to the red crystal-etch at the top of the Shtriga's staff, as it gleamed with an eerie crimson glow.
She had activated the staff's soul-pillaging ability.
And with a wide vertical swing, the Shtriga brought the staff down at the sleeping girl.
However, Aaron, who had regained a somewhat negligible control over his body again, shoved the sleeping girl out of harm's way and received the Shtriga's staff with his body instead.
