Chapter 16 — Flames of Rebellion

At the very bottom... the darkest part of DX Kingdom.

Bokuro stepped forward. Kitsui and Nensudo walked beside him. The air was thick with fog and the stench of rot.

Kitsui whispered,

"Why... are so many people gathered here?"

Nensudo clenched his teeth.

"Something's definitely wrong here."

As they reached the ground ahead, they saw it — hundreds of people crying.

Women were clutching their children tight. Old men trembled, their hands raised in desperate prayers.

Everyone's eyes were red.

Standing at the center was a man — dressed in black, eyes glowing red, a devilish smile on his face.

Kairu.

One of Kazan Kaga's men. A Dark Scriptor.

Kairu shouted loudly,

"Listen up! If you all don't rise and protest against the king... Kazan Kaga will wipe out your families!"

The crowd broke into wails.

Someone screamed, "No! Don't kill our families!"

Another yelled, "We'll protest! We have to save our children!"

The entire ground echoed with sobbing voices.

Bokuro's blood boiled inside him.

He stepped forward and roared —

"Stop this!!"

The whole crowd fell silent.

Every eye turned to Bokuro.

Bokuro gritted his teeth and shouted,

"I will not let your filthy plan succeed! I came here to kill you, Kairu!"

Kairu lowered his head and let out a dark laugh.

Then he said,

"Oh... so a little kid is threatening me? Kazan Kaga will become king, and worms like you will be crushed. Defeat me? Hahaha, dream on."

Bokuro's fists trembled. His Script Book started glowing in blue light.

Behind him, Nensudo opened his own book and muttered,

"Kitsui, get ready. This is war."

Kitsui took a deep breath and flipped her pages, her eyes blazing.

"Team 7... we will not lose. Not now!"

Kairu signaled, and the dark soldiers behind him opened their black books.

The entire ground turned into a battlefield.

The fight began!

Bokuro charged forward with a roar, blue flames erupting from his book, clashing against Kairu's black smoke.

Nensudo created a shield to protect the crowd.

Kitsui unleashed a rain of thorns on the enemy soldiers.

Dust, light, and screams filled the air.

The crowd formed a circle around them, watching with trembling hope. In their hearts, only one prayer—

"Team 7, please win... please win...!"

Bokuro gritted his teeth,

"I will never give up...!"

Kairu laughed,

"Your weak emotions will break you, kid...!"

Nensudo yelled,

"Bokuro! Focus!"

Kitsui screamed,

"We're with you! Losing is not an option!"

Meanwhile, at the kingdom's palace…

Heavy footsteps echoed in the royal hall.

A man entered — Hyugi, another soldier of Kazan Kaga.

He glared at the king and said coldly,

"Kazan Kaga sends a message. King… either abandon your throne… or prepare to die."

The royal guards drew their swords.

The king's fists trembled.

Hyugi smirked,

"Time is short, Your Majesty. Choose — power or life."

---

Back at the battlefield, Bokuro's knees nearly touched the ground. His body was bleeding.

Kitsui's breathing was heavy.

Nensudo was drenched in sweat.

Just then, a little boy in the crowd screamed,

"Big brother Bokuro… please win! Please win!"

Fire ignited in Bokuro's eyes. He gripped his book tightly and growled—

"Yeah… I will win!"
