As Max opened his eyes and gazed out of the window, his mind was heavy with guilt and regret, replaying the events that led to Tom's injuries over and over again. But he knew that dwelling on the past would not help his friend in the present.
So, he made a vow to himself to do everything in his power to aid Tom in his healing and recovery, to make up for his past mistakes.
As he looked out the window, he could see the determination in his own eyes, and he felt a renewed sense of purpose.
As the car came to a stop, one of Max's subordinates spoke up, breaking the silence in the vehicle.
"Young master, we have arrived at the destination," he said, his voice crisp and professional as Max just gave a slight nod of acknowledgement.
Max and his team had arrived at the home of someone he referred to as his "friend," but in reality, the man was much more than that.
