Chapter 126 - Bob and the game of "Cops and Robbers"

Whilst Medium Raré was raising the steaks in the game, the literal SS Villain and actual robber Steyk Steeler and Inspector Ross had each infiltrated the Robbers and Cops teams respectively, both with their own clear agendas.

Steyk of course was planning to blend in and at the critical moment, to stake his claim to Gordan's steaks.

Inspector Ross of course, was planning to painstakingly stake-out the steak situation, in order to stop Steyk from staking out the steaks...

___

And so, the game was getting underway.

Of course, this was no ordinary game, and was in fact part of a "Survival" TV series, since the Author figured it would be fun to write whilst also giving him time to enjoy his instant noodles with wagyu beef.

The "Cops and Robbers" game would go on for 36 hrs, and the original aim was for the Cops to try to capture the Robbers, and for the Robbers to try to evade capture. Captured Robbers would go to "Jail", which was in a designated area, and Robbers that were still Free could try to stage Jailbreaks and help rescue their captured teammates. The Robbers would win if they had even just one person who remained free once the time was up, whilst the Cops would win if they could capture all the Robbers before the time was up.

Of course, 'original aim' was the operative word. And the astute esteemed readers had also carefully noted the words '"Survival" TV series' 🤔🤨 ...

Indeed. The traditional game of Cops and Robbers normally would involve a simple game of "Tag".

However.

The TV series producers understood that for them, ratings were everything, and accordingly, in order to accrue more viewers, decided that it would be better if they made it a game of life and death instead.

This was only a minor modification really, they reasoned.

Well I mean, it was still pretty much a game of tag?! Except that instead of just using hands, they would just use other things... Like blunt instruments, sharp objects, and bullets.

But that was all, really.

___

Moreover, since the game was called "Cops and Robbers", the TV Producers also decided that it would only make sense if there was *actually* something worth stealing in the game, and accordingly, included another special addition... to make things 'more interesting', to spice things up, and as it turned out, literally, to 'add a bit more flavour' into the mix...

That's right. "The Secret Sauce" was literally, a bottle of... thick, creamy white sauce personally... whipped up by Gordan Handsey.

"The Secret Sauce" was clearly something of inestimable value, and whoever had it in their possession at the end of the game - and remained alive - would automatically make it to the "Winner Winner Steak Dinner", and moreover, would clearly have their "Gordan Handsey Steak Dining Experience" elevated to the next level.

It was a fascinating scenario.

On the surface, there were two distinct teams, both with clear reasons to work together and support each other.

And yet, there was also room for individuals to act in their own interests...

What would happen?

The Producers - and the Audience - could hardly wait to find out...
