They remember me as a monster.
But once… once, they called me Alpha.
Yes… I was human first. I even bore a human name—Theodore.
Gosh, I hated that name. Weak. Soft. Something you'd call a child with no claws, no fangs. I spat on it the first chance I got.
I was the firstborn son of a great line, heir to a throne of wolves. My father spoke of honor, of duty, of the sacred bond between pack and Moon. But if I am being sincere… he was a coward. A disappointment wrapped in flesh. He single-handedly destroyed the legacy his father and ancestors had laid down.
Why would I say that about my own father?
Because truth burns, and he was ash long before I set him on fire.
Our pack used to be the most feared and powerful in all of North America. The streets trembled when we walked. Wolves whispered our name with either reverence or dread. But all of that changed the moment my father wore the Alpha's crown.
