Rain POV
I shoved him off me. "What the hell is going on?"
"WHAT THE FUCK!" Kai roared, hair wild, eyes burning red with rage. The tent flap burst open, and two soldiers rushed inside, faces pale.
"Alpha, you must hide! The Uldar dwarves have breached the outer border. We must move!"
Kai and I scrambled to our feet, reaching for clothes. I threw my dress on backward in panic; Kai pulled on his pants but didn't bother with a shirt.
He spun on me, eyes narrowing. "What the fuck are the Uldar dwarves doing in my pack? What did you and Batista do?"
I met his gaze head-on. "I killed their prince."
His jaw dropped. "You did WHAT?!"
"He tried to force me to be his wife. Said he'd make me a queen whether I liked it or not."
"Fucking dwarves," he spat, fists clenched. "Well, serves the bastard right."
Another soldier barged in, breathless. "Alpha! King Dagrim is here. He demands we hand over the Starborn."
"Over my dead fucking body!" Kai snarled. "Where the hell is he?!"
