In ancient times, the four guardian deities of the Tapu family engaged in an endless battle against Solgaleo, known as "the beast that devours the sun," and Lunala, "the beast that calls the moon." This was no ordinary conflict—it was a war between alien gods and the native protectors of the land.
The battle raged across dimensions, shaking the very foundations of both worlds. In the end, however, the alien gods emerged victorious. Having escaped from the Ultra Space, Solgaleo and Lunala made a pivotal decision: they chose to integrate themselves into this new world. Rather than ruling through force alone, they compelled the guardian deities to submit to their authority and, in return, granted them the mysterious Z-Power.
This was the true origin of Z-Power—the source from which all Z-Moves would eventually flow.
Of course, this ancient history had nothing to do with the small Cosmoem known as "Little Nebula." The Solgaleo and Lunala from this tale were the first generation of sun and moon gods, existing long before Little Nebula's birth.
Even so, Tapu Lele recognized this Cosmoem immediately upon sight.
The original sun and moon gods, who had once led the guardian deities, lost their radiant power and vanished during their epic battle with "Great God Arceus." However, before their final defeat, they managed to leave behind their offspring within the sacred altar—a final gift to ensure their legacy would continue.
The guardian deities took on the solemn responsibility of caring for this precious life. To guarantee Cosmog's safety, they sealed the altar completely, allowing the young Pokemon to move and grow only within its protected confines. For countless years, this arrangement worked perfectly. No matter how fierce or aggressive the wild Pokemon in the surrounding areas became, none dared to violate the divine will of the guardians.
However, even the most vigilant creatures can become complacent over time, and the guardian deities were no exception to this universal truth.
One year ago, a group of ruthless human poachers managed to infiltrate the sacred altar. These criminals succeeded in stealing many precious artifacts and treasures from the sanctuary. Among their stolen prizes was Cosmog—the larval form of the gods themselves.
"Lele?!" Tapu Lele's fury was immediate and overwhelming. In her mind, Roy was clearly associated with that despicable gang of thieves who had violated their sacred trust.
Despite her appearance as a small, delicate fairy, Tapu Lele's personality matched her innocent looks—she was as impulsive and quick to anger as a child who had been deeply wronged.
Without pausing to consider alternative explanations, Tapu Lele focused her divine power. Glittering scale powder began emanating from her entire body, accompanied by a deep pink aura that slowly expanded to cover the surrounding world. This was both her signature ability and her divine authority manifested in physical form.
Psychic Terrain!
The first to detect the anomaly was Metagross, who had been standing guard during the night watch. A strange psychic aura had risen around their campsite at some unknown moment, creating a pink-tinted realm that completely surrounded their group.
Metagross quickly awakened everyone through their telepathic network, established via aura connection.
Roy jolted awake from his peaceful sleep and emerged from his tent. His Pokemon immediately formed a protective formation around him, positioning him in the safest possible location at their center.
"What is this?" Roy muttered, studying the psychic aura that enveloped them. His brow furrowed as he tried to process what he was seeing.
Lucario's telepathic voice reached him at precisely the right moment.
[The structure of this aura—part of it feels familiar to me. This is definitely psychic energy combined with natural power!]
Psychic energy merged with natural force... Besides Roy himself, the only beings capable of using such "sage techniques" were the Tapu guardian deities. Among those most proficient with psychic abilities, only one name came to mind.
"Tapu Lele," Roy whispered.
As if summoned by his words, a figure resembling a small fairy materialized within the psychic aura, her entire body shimmering with rainbow-colored light.
Tapu Lele released a burst of innocent, almost childlike laughter. However, the psychic aura surrounding her revealed a far more sinister intent.
The energy surged forward like a pink storm cloud, pressing aggressively toward Roy and his team.
Both Roy and his Pokemon underwent dramatic changes in expression simultaneously.
Only when trapped within the aura could one truly comprehend the terrifying pressure—it felt as though the entire world was compressing around them, intent on crushing them completely!
In that critical moment, it seemed they faced not merely a single Pokemon's attack, but the rage of the entire natural world itself!
This was the exclusive move of the Guardian Deities—Nature's Madness!
Metagross remained cautious but refused to show cowardice. With a heart dedicated to protection, facing this natural fury-like power, it felt genuine fear rising from its core. But who was standing behind it?
Its partner, its trainer, its family!
"Ahhh!"
With a thunderous roar, Metagross charged forward without hesitation.
Roy instantly understood what his Pokemon wanted to convey. Without time for hesitation or doubt, he subconsciously chose the most appropriate response.
Complete trust and unwavering support!
Roy activated the Dynamax Band on his left wrist, channeling the energy field.
Dynamax!
Metagross stepped forward boldly, and with every few meters it crossed, its body doubled in size dramatically. By the time it met Nature's Madness head-on, it had grown to an impressive forty meters in height.
The massive Pokemon positioned its four arms defensively in front of its body, gathering every ounce of its considerable strength.
Max Guard!
Nature's Madness collided with its formidable defense and... immediately began crushing through!
Under the absolutely terrifying pressure, Metagross's colossal form was forced to retreat steadily. The Dynamax energy coating its entire body showed clear signs of fracturing and breaking apart.
However, its valiant efforts were not in vain—it had successfully bought precious time for everyone else.
The Dynamax Band could only store two charges of Dynamax energy, and Roy naturally allocated the final charge to Blastoise.
The massive turtle completed its Gigantamax transformation and unleashed its exclusive G-Max Cannonade!
Lucario achieved Mega Evolution and fired an enormous spiraling Aura Sphere!
Mimikyu executed the Ghost-type Z-Move, Never-Ending Nightmare.
Ninetales formed "Aurora Veil," creating an protective barrier around Roy.
Salamence launched Draco Meteor, contributing its own devastating power to their combined assault.
Electivire entered Overdrive mode, its fists igniting with electrical energy as it unleashed the most powerful Thunder Punch in its arsenal!
In that instant, Roy's team demonstrated their full arsenal of techniques.
The combined strength they gathered in this life-or-death moment far exceeded their power during their previous battle with Ivy by more than ten times.
When faced with genuine mortal peril, Roy had finally revealed his team's complete capabilities.
Combining all their power together, they barely managed to neutralize a single Nature's Madness attack.
After just one round of intense confrontation, massive waves swept across the landscape. The surrounding trees, soil, and rocky formations were destroyed beyond recognition.
"Lele?"
Tapu Lele displayed a genuinely surprised expression.
Although this had been merely a Nature's Madness released casually on her part, even ordinary Elite-level trainers would need to take such an attack seriously.
She had never expected Roy's Pokemon to successfully block it.
Furthermore, the techniques employed by Roy and his Pokemon were all extremely high-level, containing many familiar energy signatures.
She recognized Aurora Veil, Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, and sage energy among their arsenal.
Most importantly, she observed Little Nebula's reaction during the crisis.
During this life-threatening situation, Little Nebula had not attempted to escape in the chaos, nor had it used its most reliable move, Teleport.
Although Little Nebula was trembling with obvious fear, it still chose to remain by Roy's side, hiding near him like a small hamster and occasionally stealing glances at him with worried eyes.
Oh no!
After noticing Tapu Lele's intense gaze, Little Nebula immediately shrank back further.
This reaction caused Tapu Lele to completely calm down and reconsider the situation.
Had she misunderstood something important?
Little Nebula was naturally curious, and as long as someone offered it food, it would show friendliness. However, this was merely superficial kindness—when encountering real danger, Little Nebula would immediately choose to flee to safety.
The only beings that could force it to suppress its natural fear and choose to stay were those it had truly accepted and recognized as family.
