After moving to the villa, the larger space meant that everyone no longer had to crowd into a single small bedroom for rest.
At the very least, Blastoise—standing over two meters tall—would have to remove the door frame entirely just to enter Roy's bedroom.
Blastoise had taken up residence by the swimming pool, which suited it perfectly since it could also serve as the villa's guardian. Elekid and Lucario each had their own private bedrooms as well.
The only Pokémon still sleeping with Roy were Ninetales, who had always been particularly clingy to him, Mimikyu hiding in his shadow, and Cosmog.
"Still not here yet..." Roy had risen very early today to welcome Elekid's return, but unfortunately, he hadn't spotted Dragonite approaching from the sky yet.
He had assumed that the other Pokémon would still be resting, but as soon as he walked into the main lobby, he heard the distinct sound of metal clashing from the basement training room.
Roy descended to the training facility and immediately spotted Beldum in the middle of its routine.
The Steel-type was continuously launching itself at a specially reinforced alloy steel plate, using Tackle attacks to condition and strengthen its body. Only when it was covered in cuts and bruises would it sit down slowly, consume a few energy cubes, pick up a piece of Metal Coat, and chew it methodically.
"When did you wake up?" Roy asked at that moment.
Beldum had been too focused on training to notice before, but now it realized Roy was present. It immediately brightened, floating happily toward him while releasing a burst of magnetic energy in his direction.
"Whoa!"
Roy gasped, feeling a tingling numbness spread through his entire body, and patted Beldum's metallic surface helplessly.
It still hadn't gotten rid of this habit of constantly emitting magnetism around people.
After all, it was still essentially a child only one month old, and remained quite playful.
"Bel bel!" Beldum explained that it had woken up after just three hours of sleep.
As a mechanical life form, its need for sleep was extremely minimal, so this wasn't a case of pushing itself too hard.
Therefore, Beldum—despite being the newest team member—had instantly claimed first place in daily training hours.
Tied for first place was Elekid, who had not yet returned.
Beldum relied on natural talent, while Elekid relied on sheer determination and reckless effort.
Roy suddenly felt a realization stirring in his mind.
Speaking of which, Elekid had a reckless, headstrong personality—a typical never-give-up fighter from adventure stories—while Beldum possessed a cautious personality and could be called a natural prodigy. They were complete opposites in temperament.
He wondered how these two would get along.
At that moment, within Roy's Aura perception range, two familiar aura signatures were approaching from the sky.
The timing of their appearance seemed to respond perfectly to Roy's anticipation.
"They're coming!"
Roy smiled with satisfaction.
"Come on, Beldum. Let me introduce you to your final teammate."
"Bel!"
Beldum made an excited sound, extremely curious about the Elekid that Blastoise often mentioned during conversations.
When Roy reached the villa's rooftop, Dragonite had already landed.
Beside Dragonite stood a familiar yet transformed golden figure.
Elekid had successfully evolved and was now called Electabuzz.
After evolution, Electabuzz had grown to approximately 1.6 meters in height. Its golden skin was marked with black stripes resembling a tiger's pattern, and its tail was exactly like a tiger's as well. However, its hands possessed five fingers like a human's, and its facial features had a fierce, almost demonic appearance that looked extremely intimidating.
Well...
Roy had mixed feelings about the transformation.
Although being fierce and powerful represented its own kind of 'intimidating beauty,' Roy still felt that it looked less appealing than before.
At that moment, Electabuzz spotted Roy and immediately displayed an excited expression. With a "tiger pounce," it embraced Roy in its arms while making sounds of longing: "Buzz!"
Roy gasped with a sharp intake of breath, his tongue feeling slightly numb from the electrical shock. "Quick, let go... release me!"
Being hugged by a Pokémon with the Static ability was quite an intense experience.
Electabuzz remembered its own ability and quickly released Roy, scratching its head embarrassedly while expressing its apology.
"Both of you seem to enjoy giving me electrical shocks now," Roy said with mock irritation.
Since ancient times, electromagnetism had been inseparable forces, and being affected by both magnetism and electricity produced remarkably similar sensations.
Electabuzz grinned sheepishly. Like Blastoise, its personality hadn't changed after evolution—it remained just as carefree and good-natured. They truly made quite the pair of lovable troublemakers.
At that moment, Electabuzz noticed Beldum beside Roy and showed a curious expression.
"This is my sixth..." Roy suddenly remembered Cosmog and corrected himself, "seventh Pokémon—your new partner."
"Buzz!"
Electabuzz immediately greeted Beldum happily and also wanted to give the Steel-type a friendly "tiger pounce."
However, at that moment, Beldum suddenly dropped to the ground. No matter how hard it tried, it couldn't manage to float up from the surface.
"What happened?"
"Buzz???"
Electabuzz spread its hands innocently, indicating that it had done nothing wrong.
It reached out and patted Beldum gently, signaling for the other Pokémon to stop fooling around and get up quickly.
At that moment, Dragonite approached, carefully picked up Beldum, and moved it away from Electabuzz's vicinity.
Beldum immediately regained its mobility and looked at Electabuzz warily, refusing to approach it any further.
Seeing this interaction, Roy instantly understood the situation.
Unlike normal Electric-type Pokémon, Electabuzz couldn't fully control its own 'voltage' and constantly emitted electrical energy from its body.
The electricity emanating from Electabuzz was interfering with Beldum's magnetic field control.
It wasn't that Beldum was afraid of Electric-type Pokémon specifically—it was simply that the power level gap between the two was too vast, creating a one-sided overwhelming effect.
If the strength relationship were reversed, Electabuzz would probably be the one lying on the ground in pain, struggling to suppress the runaway lightning coursing through its body.
Looking at Beldum, who remained cautious and kept its distance, and Electabuzz, which felt confused and innocent about the situation, Roy sighed deeply.
These two teammates had extremely poor compatibility.
Roy couldn't solve this problem immediately. It was a physical incompatibility between the two Pokémon—they were essentially allergic to each other's energy signatures.
This situation would likely persist until Electabuzz could fully master and control its ability.
He had no idea when that mastery of such divine power might be achieved.
With this thought, Roy opened his system panel to check Electabuzz's current status and capabilities.
[Pokémon: Electabuzz]
[Type: Electric]
[Ability: Static]
[Moves: Brick Break (Master), Fire Punch (Master), Ice Punch, Low Sweep, Dynamic Punch, Cross Chop, Hidden Power, Endure... (Proficient level and below moves omitted; Electric-type moves unusable)]
[Comprehensive Evaluation: A+]
An Electric-type Pokémon like Electabuzz that didn't even know basic Discharge techniques was truly unusual.
Its only application of lightning was to let the electrical energy run wild throughout its body, entering the Thunder Armor condition and carrying terrifying linghtning with every movement and attack.
Roy keenly noticed something abnormal in the panel information.
"An A+ evaluation? One evolution actually raised its assessment by two full grades?"
There was genuine surprise in his voice.
Due to the linghtning, Electabuzz possessed a special physique with potential far exceeding its peers, which meant its evolution requirements were also more demanding. Roy had realized this previously.
However, he had never expected the potential to be quite this remarkable.
Ordinary Electabuzz had relatively modest racial potential. Even when reaching their species' limit, they typically achieved only A-level evaluations.
But Roy's Electabuzz—despite being unable to use Electric-type moves—had gained two full evaluation levels from a single evolution, reaching A+ rank.
This potential was genuinely terrifying.
For comparison, all starter Pokémon had racial limits of A+, but what if Charizard couldn't use Fire-type techniques?
A Charizard unable to use fire would be questionable to maintain even A-level assessment.
"A Pokémon possessing 'divine power' truly cannot be measured by conventional standards," Roy murmured with a mixture of surprise and excitement.
Besides that remarkable improvement, there was another anomaly on the status panel.
"Your Fire Punch and Hidden Power have actually improved their mastery levels?"
Roy expressed mild surprise.
"Buzz!" Electabuzz nodded enthusiastically, extending its hand with all five fingers spread, and ignited a controlled flame.
To demonstrate for Roy, it manipulated the flames into the shape of Lucario, then transformed them into Ninetales' form. Its control over fire energy was incredibly precise and skillful.
"I'd believe you if someone told me you were a Fire-type Pokémon," Roy commented.
Considering that Electabuzz didn't know any conventional Electric-type moves whatsoever, Roy's observation was quite apt.
Hidden Power was a very special move that virtually all Pokémon could learn.
Currently, it was generally believed that a Pokémon's Hidden Power type indicated which energy type the Pokémon had the strongest compatibility with.
Normally, Hidden Power matched the primary type. For example, Mimikyu's Hidden Power had a high probability of being Ghost or Fairy-type.
However, there were also cases where Fire-type Pokémon possessed Water-type Hidden Power. When Hidden Power didn't match the primary type, it indicated that the Pokémon also had good affinity for that awakened element. It wasn't surprising for Fire-type Pokémon to learn techniques like Water Gun in such cases.
For instance, Lucario had been able to learn 'Lightning Body Tempering' techniques, and its Hidden Power being Electric-type had played a significant role in that compatibility.
"Show me everything you've learned during this time," Roy requested.
Today was the match against Stonecrest University, and he needed to understand Electabuzz's current power level as quickly as possible.
Upon hearing this, Electabuzz's expression suddenly became serious and focused.
In the next instant, cyan-blue lightning surged from every part of its body, completely enveloping Electabuzz as it instantly entered "Thunder Armor" mode.
Immediately after that transformation, Electabuzz suddenly raised both hands and ignited Fire Punch techniques.
The flame energy rose and merged with the surrounding lightning. The linghtning seemed stimulated by this combination and became extremely volatile. A distinct fiery red tinge appeared within the blue-cyan lightning, and the pressure emanating from the electrical energy suddenly increased several levels.
"Is this... the application of Fusion Bolt?"
This scene reminded Roy of the battle between Elekid and Typhlosion.
During that encounter, Elekid had relied on the linghtning's property of "becoming stronger when exposed to fire" to complete an incredible one-versus-three victory.
Roy had previously considered training Elekid to use flames to enhance its lightning, but unfortunately, it hadn't been capable of that level of control at the time.
The difficulty of generating flames while simultaneously maintaining 'Thunder Armor' had been far too challenging for Elekid's previous development level.
However, after evolution, Electabuzz had achieved this advanced technique.
The crucial difference was Electabuzz's dramatically improved control over fire energy.
Zekrom possessed two exclusive signature moves: — Bolt Strike — Fusion Bolt
If the normal "Thunder Armor" condition mimicked Zekrom's exclusive "Bolt Strike" technique, then the 'Thunder Armor' enhanced with fire energy was mimicking Zekrom's exclusive "Fusion Bolt" technique.
The Thunder Armor system now had two distinct operational modes:
Bolt Strike mode—and Fusion Bolt mode.
