Chapter 8 - chapter 7: settle Before Hunt

day began slowly with the trio within their classes, they dismissed all the side glances and talk about them and only set their sights on becoming the best.

The academy was a jungle, where only the strong could stand and they knew all to well how to survive inna jungle. It's something they were accustomed to.

Professor Lira walked unto the class and scanned everyone that was within their seats, the class had died down upon her arrival.

"I see everyone is lively," Professor Lira's voice rang out like a whipcrack, silencing the hum of idle chatter in an instant. Her boots struck the polished marble floor with the precision of a soldier, each step echoing through the large walls of the class as dozens of eyes turned to face her.

"Good," she continued, her gaze razor-sharp as it swept across the assembled students. "You'll need that energy. Because from this day forward, you will be pushed beyond your limits physically, mentally, and emotionally. This academy does not coddle the weak. It does not nurture mediocrity."

She paused at the center of the hall, arms folded behind her back.

Her uniform was crisp, not a wrinkle out of place, and the insignia on her shoulder gleamed beneath the morning light filtering through the arched windows. There was a military coldness in her bearing, the kind that couldn't be faked.

"This institution was built upon strength," she said, voice growing sharper. "It is our creed, our legacy, and our expectation. We do not care where you came from noble blood, merchant class, street scum it is irrelevant. Titles and coin mean nothing here. Only results. Only power."

The room fell into complete silence.

Even the nobles looked uncertain now, their inherited pride clashing with the reality of the academy's merciless standards.

"I will not waste time tending to your wounded egos or your precious feelings," she said coldly. "If the presence of commoners in your ranks offends you, then you are welcome to leave. We are not interested in those who cannot rise above outdated notions of hierarchy. Strength does not care for status. Nor do I."

She took another step forward, locking eyes with a haughty young heir who had been sneering just moments before.

"You are not special here," she said, voice like a blade unsheathing. "Not yet. Not until you prove it. So save your complaints. Swallow your pride. Shut up… and pay attention."

The day seemed to pass through from that moment, the learning of how to manipulate their Aether, how to basically summon their elemental attributes and training in their various classes.

(DRAX)

He had finished his combat training. The drills were hard and every intense but he enjoyed every bit of it, the instructor didn't care about the pain the students experienced but he might of enjoyed it.

Drax walked down the halls to go back to his dorm, he had a certain few things to do, and experience with what he had learning today.

"I can't believe a commoner is in B class. Honestly I could beat him."

D class student said aloud that could the attention of drax.

Ever so nosy he peeked and seen the students, they bickered about how they deserve to be in B class whilst they were stuck in D.

Drax jumped up with excitement and walked in their direction and made sure to meet their gaze while he walked past them, but no words about him left their mouth.

He clicked his tongue. 'Pathetic.' He thought the nobles would have more spine. But he didn't know even though he was a commoner and he was still a B class student and that meant he was way stronger than he could understand.

(B class)

"What are we going to do Jared?! Are we really going to let these commoners roll around in our class." A B class noble girl exclaimed, her teeth gritting against each other whilst her fist was clenched.

Jared stared at her with a kind smile "no need to fret, I am the pride of B class. I'll let my prey relax and then strike, better to save the appetizer till it's a meal." His voice calm then blending into a chaotic tone. His eyes spoke of one thing and that's the defeat of the commoners.
