In the Torture and Interrogation
After the Mizukage and the Seven Ninja Swordsmen arrived at the Torture and Interrogation Department, the Mizukage approached Zanshi; his expression was cold like ice.
Without a word, he handed over Yukitaro's lifeless corpse to him and commanded him firmly,
"Zanshi, use the Mind Reader Jutsu on Yukitaro's corpse. He leaked intel about one of our shinobi," he paused for a second, and then he continued coldly.
"I also want to know what else this traitor leaked. To who did he pass the intel to? And who else was involved with this trash?"
Zanshi nodded grimly at Kaito's words; without any delay, he placed Yukitaro's corpse on the ground and began weaving a rapid series of hand seals.
After completing the hand seals, he laid his palm on Yukitaro's head, closed his eyes, and muttered under his breath.
"Mind Reader Jutsu."
Five minutes later, his eyes snapped open. He stared grimly at the Mizukage and the seven ninja swordsmen.
Taking a deep breath, he said, "Let me make one thing clear to all of you first—my mastery of the Mind Reader Jutsu is still incomplete. It will take some time for me to extract the full extent of this traitor's memories."
Kaito nodded in understanding along with the seven ninja swordsmen, then Zanshi continued.
"According to the memories I just read, Yukitaro was selling intel to Iwa, Konoha, and Kumo about our border patrol shinobi—their identities, duties, and shift schedules.'"
Kaito's face darkened as he heard this, but Zanshi pressed on. "However, thanks to Yukito and his faction, they slaughtered some of those traitors before they could deliver the information to Kumo and Konoha. Yet, they failed to stop the intel from reaching Iwa, because Yuto was the one selling our patrol details to them."
Kaito took a deep breath to calm his rage and asked, "Based on the memories you've read so far, who are the traitors within the Yuki clan?"
Zanshi locked eyes with Kaito and said without hesitation, 'Yukitaro, his entire faction, and the Yuki clan elders except for Yujo.'
Kaito nodded, then turned to the seven ninja swordsmen and ordered coldly, 'Goro, Jinin, Kushimaru—head to the border and temporarily join the patrol squads. Stay there until I've dealt with the Yuki clan and revised the patrol roster.'
Goro let out a weary sigh and asked, "Mizukage-sama, why choose me for border patrol? You could've sent Juzo or Jinpachi instead. I just want to spend my time fishing."
The Mizukage's expression darkened with rage upon hearing Goro's complaint and he looked ready to explode—until Raiga cut in sharply, "Goro, you lazy ass! This is serious. You're an elite Jounin—be more responsible!"
Raiga's words struck the room like a thunderclap. Everyone stood frozen, their eyes wide and fixed on him as if they were staring at a ghost
Fuguki stood frozen, his mouth agape, unable to believe the words that had just come out of Raiga's mouth.
Raiga's eyes blazed with irritation as he snapped, "Why the hell are you all staring at me like this, you dumbasses!? Do you want a front-row seat to my funeral masterpiece?"
Kaito burst out laughing and said, "HAHAHA, well said, Raiga! You should be proud of yourself—you're finally acting like a responsible Jounin."
Raiga smirked with pride at Kaito's praise, nodding arrogantly. "Of course, Mizukage-sama. I'm the most responsible Jounin in all the Elemental Nations—surely, even the gods know that by now."
Fuguki scoffed at the claim and shot back, 'Responsible Jounin? You almost got your entire squad killed on our last mission.'
Raiga blushed furiously and barked, "Shut the hell up, Senpai! That shit's in the past, you bastard! We're living in the now!"
The whole room erupted into laughter the moment they saw Raiga's reaction.
Kaito then looked at Goro, Jinin, and Kushimaru and said, "You three, move out. The sooner you reach the border, the safer it'll be."
Goro, Jinin, and Kushimaru nodded before quickly vanishing using Shunshin.
Kaito looked over the remaining ninja swordsmen and said, "We're heading back to the Yuki clan. The elders and the other traitors must be eliminated. Let's go."
After hearing the Mizukage's order, they all shunshined out of the Torture and Interrogation Department—except for Fuguki.
Zanshi looked at Fuguki, puzzled. "What can I do for you, Fuguki?"
Fuguki smirked and said, "You owe me a favor for saving your life, Zanshi. I think it's time you paid me back."
With a sharp gaze, Zanshi narrowed his eyes and asked, "Fine. What do you want from me?"
Fuguki pointed at Yukitaro's corpse and said, "Extract every Ice-style jutsu and all Ice-style knowledge from his memories. Record everything carefully on scrolls for me."
Zanshi's eyes blazed with fury as he shouted at Fuguki, "Are you insane? Do you have any idea how long it will take me to do what you're asking?"
Fuguki chuckled after Zanshi's outburst and said, "I saved your life twice, Zanshi. I'd say this deal is more than fair."
Zanshi's scowl deepened as he begrudgingly nodded. "Fine. I'll call you when I'm done recording everything. And don't you dare disturb me again, bastard."
With a chuckle and a nod, Fuguki shunshined away.

In front of the Yuki clan compound
Kaito and the remaining ninja swordsmen came to a halt in front of the Yuki clan compound.
When the ANBU spotted Kaito and the remaining ninja swordsmen arriving, they swiftly shunshined towards the Mizukage.
Kaito's eyes narrowed as he said coldly to the Yuki clan guards, "Summon Yukito for me."
Bowing respectfully to Kaito, one guard then entered the compound to notify Yukito of the Mizukage's arrival.
Within minutes, Yukito swiftly stepped outside the compound and stared fearlessly into the Mizukage's eyes.
Kaito smirked approvingly at Yukito before asking, "You did well keeping our patrol intel from reaching Konoha and Kumo. But why didn't you report Yukitaro's treason to me?"
Yukito exhaled slowly, speaking with quiet frustration. "Everything spiraled faster than I thought it would with my brother. I had spies in place in his faction, but forcing them to act would have blown their cover."
"I had no choice but to take matters into my own hands. I was planning to report everything to you today, Lord Mizukage, but you arrived to deal with Yukitaro personally."
Kaito nodded in understanding, then ordered Yukito, "It's time to execute the traitors. Capture the entire traitorous faction and the five elders for me."
Yukito nodded and replied, "Right away, Lord Mizukage. However, some of my spies are still embedded within my brother's faction. I hope you will spare them—I would have failed to prevent Kumo and Konoha from obtaining our border patrol intel without their assistance."
Kaito smiled and nodded. "You don't need to worry—they deserve a generous reward for what they did."
Yukito smiled and nodded before informing Kaito, "I also need to tell you that the five elders have escaped the village. But don't worry—Yujo, one of the elders, is part of my faction and serves as my spy."
"As soon as they return to the Elemental Nation, he will inform me, and we can hunt them down."
Kaito narrowed his eyes and nodded. "Fine, we'll do it your way, but we'll issue a bounty on their heads—including Yujo's."
Yukito nodded in understanding and replied, "I was about to recommend the same, Lord Mizukage."
After saying these words, Yukito glanced at his faction and commanded coldly, "Capture all those traitors and bring them before Lord Mizukage."
Yukito's faction swiftly shunshined away as soon as he finished giving his order, capturing all of Yukitaro's faction—except for Yukito's spies—and brought them before Kaito, who was coldly watching them.
Kaito then ordered his ANBU coldly, "execute them."
Without hesitation, all the ANBU unsheathed their katanas and swiftly beheaded the remaining members of Yukitaro's faction.
"SQUASH, SQUASH, SQUASH, SQUASH, SQUASH."
Once they finished beheading the remaining members of the Yukitaro faction, all the ANBU swiftly shunshined behind Kaito.
Kaito then looked at Yukito and said, "I assume you will now take on the role of the new head of the Yuki clan."
With a respectful nod, Yukito responded, "You are correct, Lord Mizukage."
Kaito nodded and then ordered Yukito, "Come to my office in an hour; I have something to discuss with you."
With a slight nod, Yukito replied, "As you wish, Lord Mizukage."
Upon hearing Yukito's response, Kaito and his ANBU, together with the remaining ninja swordsmen, shunshined away.
Yukito then turned to his faction and ordered, "Clean up the corpses and prepare a proper burial for them in our cemetery. Despite their betrayal, they were still our clansmen."
His faction members all looked at Yukito in admiration after hearing his order.
Yukito then continued, "I also want you to inform Yukira, Yousuke, Touji, and Yoshi to come to the clan head office to see me immediately."
After hearing Yukito's order, one of the Yuki clansmen rushed off to inform Yukira, Yousuke, Touji, and Yoshi of Yukitaro's message, while the others began carrying the corpses of their fallen comrades to be washed and buried in the clan cemetery.
Yukito turned around and he started walking back towards the clan head office.
