Roger chuckled, shook his head, and said to Ryuma, "I won't become a subordinate... If you want to kill me, go ahead."
Ryuma's face was contorted with anger.
He felt like he'd saved a useless person.
Ryuma rolled his eyes, thinking that Roger probably didn't have a Devil Fruit. Even if he killed Roger, he wouldn't get a powerful Devil Fruit. Furthermore, if Ryuma killed Roger, he would become the world's villain.
Many people didn't want Roger to die.
Roger's reputation was excellent.
Everyone knew Roger wasn't a bad person.

Ryuma said, his gaze serious. Roger shook his head, laughing, "Hahaha, ridiculous!"
Roger said, "Someone like you will never understand."
"What's wrong with me? Even if you're the Pirate King, I saved you. Shouldn't you show some gratitude? You didn't even say thank you, and you're still so arrogant. Do you think that's right?"
Ryuma said, his tone flat.
Roger sneered and shook his head, "Enough talk. Kill or spare me, as you see fit."
Ryuma gritted his teeth, thinking that killing Roger might still yield some reward.
He didn't want to waste this opportunity.
Ryuma took a deep breath and said to Roger, "Think about it, Pirate King. I've said enough. You're not getting it, are you?"
Roger replied, "No need to think. Just kill me quickly... I've said all I need to say."
Ryuma ignored him and walked away. He knew that even with a day left, Roger might not change his mind, but there was still a possibility.
People feel fear when facing death, even Roger. Even the Pirate King couldn't escape human emotions and the anxiety of death.
Ryuma sighed, saying nothing more.
As Ryuma walked out, he felt a chill on his neck; a sword was pressed against him.
Ryuma turned sharply.
It was Rayleigh. The kind expression on Rayleigh's face vanished, replaced by a ferocious one.
Rayleigh stared at Ryuma, saying, "Give him a quick death."
Ryuma felt a sense of despair. He didn't understand what was happening.
Ryuma said to Rayleigh, "You're Roger's first mate. Aren't you being irresponsible? Your captain is about to be killed, and you're just watching? I saved him, and I wanted to spare his life, but you want him dead. What's going on? Is there something you can't say? Why do you have to do this?"
Rayleigh frowned, "You really don't know?"
Ryuma chuckled and shook his head, "What would I know? You haven't told me anything!"
Looking at Ryuma's expression, Rayleigh pondered, then sighed, "Our captain has a terminal illness. He's going to die. Before he dies, he wanted to give his old friend, Garp, some glory. And you just stopped it. And our captain is suffering immensely. Can't you just give him a quick death?"
Ryuma was stunned. He remembered something from the main One Piece story.
Roger did have a terminal illness.
Ryuma took a deep breath, nodded, and said, "Alright, I understand. Maybe I have a way..."
"Give it up. There's no way,"
Rayleigh sighed, his face grim. "Give our captain a quick death."
Ryuma initially considered sending Jack's ship to check, but realized it was pointless. Roger's illness must be severe.
Ryuma suddenly thought of his system.
He wondered if he could use the system to find a cure for all diseases. If he cured Roger, Roger would surely repay him.
Ryuma's lips curled into a slight smile. "Give me a night. I'll see if I can cure Roger."
For Ryuma, whether Roger lived or died, it was a good thing for Roger, and for him, a chance to make a name for himself.
