Chapter 2 - The owl

A white room, white chairs, and a strong light. Yasser opens his eyes and finds himself tied up, sitting on a chair. Strangely, he doesn't try to escape. A man with white hair enters. He looks rich — his clothes are neat, and he wears a golden watch.

Man: "Hello, Yasser. We met in the alley."

Yasser: "Who are you? What do you want? I have nothing."

Man: "Call me the Owl. I bring death to the people I meet. But I don't want anything from you. I want to help you. I want to free you from the darkness. As long as you stay like this, you'll never get over your pain. You might even go crazy."

Yasser: "You mean… travel?"

The Owl: "Just listen. I go around the country and meet young people who feel broken. I offer them a chance to travel to any country they choose. I also give them money to start a new life. What do you think?"

Yasser: "Honestly, I don't care. If I die now, I'd be happy."

The Owl: "Don't let your past destroy you. You need to start again."

Yasser: "Two painful things? You don't understand how much pain I have. It's true that I don't want to stay in this country after what happened, but I also don't want to travel. I just want peace. Leave me on an island and let me die there."

The Owl: "I have a better idea. Travel to a quiet country far from the world. I'll buy you a house there. I really want to help you."

Yasser: "What do you get from this?"

The Owl: "Nothing. But travel by sea. If you arrive, you'll get what you want."

Yasser: "So that's it. You want me to travel illegally and die at sea."

The Owl: "What's the difference? You already want to die. Why not die while trying to build a better life? Maybe you'll reach a new country and start again with the money I give you. Or do you want to go back? Remember — you have no home, your mother doesn't know what happened, you're in debt, you lost your job, and those two people destroyed your life. You can escape all this by traveling. I can see you're starting to think. What's the difference between dying as a sad, poor man and dying at sea? I'd rather die while trying to change my life."

Yasser: "Give me some time to think."

The Owl: "No problem. But let me tell you stories of others who were here and traveled."

The Owl unties him, except for his hands, and they go to a room full of travel bags.

Yasser: "What is this?"

The Owl: "Travel bags. All the people who owned them died at sea. But before that, they wrote their life stories and put them in the bag. When you open a travel bag, you see the person's secrets and life."

Yasser: "Why are we here?"

The Owl: "Think. We will open some bags and learn their stories. It will be fun while you decide. Don't say this is wrong — they all agreed before they died."

Yasser: "How?"

The Owl: "You'll understand when you do what they did."

Before opening the first bag and learning about the person and why they were here, I'll play a game. I'll show you some symbols. Try to guess the reason before I tell you the story.

Yasser: "I won't play, but I'll listen. I'm just bored."

The Owl: "Here are the symbols: blood, a person running, a girl laughing, a shocked person."

The Owl: "Now let's go to our first story."
