Chapter 3 - A new lead

The soft rays of the morning sun slipped through the curtains, painting the room in gold. Hrishimita stretched lazily before starting her day with a round of yoga. A refreshing shower followed, the cool water washing away the last traces of sleep. She slipped into a pair of light jeans and a cheerful yellow sundress, ready to welcome the day.

In the kitchen, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the warm scent of toasted whole-grain bread. She nibbled her breakfast while scrolling through a few photography blogs, each image sparking tiny bursts of inspiration.

By eight, she was seated at her desk, laptop open, determination written on her face. Her fingers flew across the keyboard as she polished her portfolio and typed out cover letters. She was hunting for a photography job that would not just pay the bills, but let her pour her heart into every frame.

As she searched, old memories began to stir her first camera, a gift from her grandfather, and those countless afternoons spent capturing every little moment life offered. The hum of her laptop and the gentle chirping of birds outside were the only sounds in the still room.

Just when she felt her motivation slipping, her phone buzzed.

Riya: Hey, Hrishi! How's the job hunt going?

Hrishimita: Slow… no replies yet. I'm getting nervous.

Riya: Don't stress! Something will come up. Coffee today? My treat.

Hrishimita smiled faintly at the screen. Why not?

Later, at the cafe – Hrishimita's POV

The warmth of the coffee cup in my hands matched the comfort of Riya's easy chatter. We spoke about everything movies, food, silly memories anything except job hunting. But then, mid-conversation, her tone shifted.

"Hrishi, I've got news," she said, leaning closer. "Eon Enterprises is looking for a lead photographer."

I froze. "Eon Enterprises? As in the global giant Eon Enterprises?"

She nodded, a knowing smile on her lips. "Yes. They're expanding their media division. And Tanmay Sharma himself is looking for someone with a fresh, creative vision."

My heartbeat quickened. "This sounds… unreal. What's the scope?"

"Global events, major campaigns, high-profile projects," she listed. "You'd work directly with Tanmay and his team."

I narrowed my eyes slightly. "And the catch?"

Her grin turned mischievous. "He's got a reputation demanding, precise. But if you can match his standards, you'll earn his respect."

The decision was instant. "I'm in."

"Good." She pulled out her phone. "Let's get your best work ready. You're going to meet him."
