Chapter 79 - CHAPTER 79

Seeing that many readers have developed misunderstandings regarding the previous chapter, I think it is necessary to come out and explain a few things.

This is mainly to avoid unnecessary speculation and misinterpretation.

First of all, the appearance and mention of the Dark Demon / Dark Duelist is purely foreshadowing for a future plotline. It is not, and will not become, a cliché storyline such as "the protagonist uses a dark deck and is immediately hunted down by everyone". That kind of fairy-tale or old-fashioned plot would be extremely out of place in the Yu-Gi-Oh world.

Once a story loses its sense of immersion, everything else becomes meaningless. Whether it is bloody, dramatic, or exaggerated is secondary what truly matters is the reader's sense of substitution and coherence with the world setting.

So I definitely will not write it that way.

The key point here is introduction, not escalation.

The misunderstanding mainly comes from the fact that someone in the story mentions the existence of Dark Duelists, and the concept of a Dark Demon is brought up as a narrative seed. This is simply to let the protagonist and the readers know that such a force exists.

In this way, when Dark Duelists formally appear later, it will not feel abrupt or forced.

From the very beginning of this novel until now, I have deliberately avoided outdated routines. Many parts are intentionally written differently, and it is even more impossible for me to suddenly insert such an old, crude plot at this stage.

Even if I were to borrow a storyline, I would borrow from modern second-dimension logic, not from outdated fairy-tale templates. After all, this is 2024 who still enjoys watching those predictable routines?

To be honest, when I was writing those chapters, I didn't even think in that direction.

I truly didn't expect some readers to associate it with that kind of plot.

That sort of storyline has already been buried in the long river of history. If you hadn't brought it up, I would have forgotten it completely.

So there is really no need to over-interpret it.

It is nothing more than a simple narrative introduction, laying groundwork for the future.

Otherwise, the formal appearance of Dark Duelists later on would feel sudden and unnatural.

You only need to know one thing: I follow a daily-flow writing style, not strange, convoluted routines full of forced drama.

Let's take a step back.

Even if I were truly brain-dead and wanted to write something like that, once readers point it out, I obviously wouldn't continue writing it unless I were completely beyond help.

Generally speaking, authors who still write old-fashioned, bloody, and brainless plots are those who haven't written for many years and can't keep up with the times. Authors who continuously write and read current works simply don't do that.

I have written many Yu-Gi-Oh novels on external platforms, and I can confidently say that I am very clear about what the major poison points of Yu-Gi-Oh fanfiction are.

You can read with confidence.

Even if I poison myself, I won't poison you.

This is my promise.
