Chapter 435 - Void

Blaine took a step forward and continued walking inside. The corridor was very long, and he had no idea where it led. But from this alone, he could imagine how enormous this thing was beneath the ground.

Finally, Blaine reached the end. There was a metal door here. Like many of the high-tech doors Blaine had seen before, it was arched, with both sides joined together.

Walking up to it, Blaine somehow raised his hand and pressed his palm against the door. Even more miraculously, the door opened.

Blaine looked at his hand, wondering if he had suddenly learned some kind of magic. Then he walked in suspiciously.

After entering, he found that the interior was decorated very simply. No, it could even be said that there was no decoration at all. Because of this, the rooms inside were completely white. A white ceiling.

White walls, and even the floor beneath his feet was white. It was as if Blaine had suddenly stepped into another world. Blaine even had an indescribable feeling. Thinking about it carefully, wasn't this what the Hunter space looked like?

To verify the thought in his heart, Blaine broke into a sprint, wanting to see whether the space here was the same as the Hunter space—almost infinite. However, what happened in the next second dispelled that idea.

Because before Blaine had run more than two or three steps, he directly slammed into the opposite white wall. Moreover, judging from the sound, this pure white wall, which looked as delicate as a white flower, actually produced a metallic clang.

Looking around, Blaine also examined the area with his mental strength. This space was not large, far smaller than the Hunter space. It was probably about the same size as the United States.

However, this place seemed to be nothing more than a simple blank space. Not to mention an energy body, Blaine did not even see a single trace of any other color.

The moment he came down, Blaine had actually been ready to fight. After all, Karu—the origin of magic mentioned by the Ancient One and the others—might become Blaine's mortal enemy in the future. As for the place where dark matter was produced, needless to say, even if it was not their stronghold, it had to at least be considered one. Or perhaps a battleship had fallen here, or something like that.

But looking at the situation now, forget the enemy—there wasn't even a trace left behind by one. And what were these white things? Why were they so similar to the Hunter space?

Could this be the place where Blaine had arrived in Marvel?

No way. Blaine, who had no clues, could only patrol around this pale space once more. In any case, even if he asked the system, the system would never tell him, so he might as well check by himself for any missing clues.

"Activate the favor of the God of Luck."

A system prompt suddenly appeared in Blaine's mind as he was walking and observing.

Blaine did not hesitate, much less doubt it. Instead, he subconsciously obeyed the system's instruction and activated the God of Luck's favor.

In fact, Blaine had not known that ever since he bought the God of Luck skill, he could activate it himself. All along, Blaine had thought this skill was invisible and intangible, like a real fairy—illusory and unreal. If it had not been for the fact that the system could not lie to him, and Gali had mentioned it once, Blaine might have believed that the blessing of the God of Luck did not exist at all, and was merely something the system had made up to scam him out of money.

After Blaine fumbled around for a while, unsure of how to activate it—he really did not know how, so he simply recited the skill's name silently in his heart—for some reason, he suddenly felt a heavy weight pressing down on the top of his head. Then, in the blank space before him, a pillar abruptly appeared.

Blaine stepped forward. It was a very ordinary-looking metal pillar. Although he did not know what material it was made of, its pattern, texture, and shape were somewhat similar to the metal key fragments.

Just as Blaine placed his hand on it and was about to touch it, he suddenly heard a click, as if a sheet of ice had cracked open.

In the next second, the pillar suddenly retracted. At the same time, on Blaine's right side, a black gap abruptly opened in the white wall. A gap like a door.

A familiar wind blew out from the gap. Without even thinking about it, Blaine knew it had to be a spatial crack.

After hesitating for a moment, Blaine adjusted the hood of the Hunter suit. The energy shield opened automatically, and Blaine jumped straight in.

Inside the crack, everything was pitch-black. Blaine seemed to have entered the polar night. He could not even see his fingers in front of his face, and there was no light at all. This environment formed a stark contrast with the pure white, flawless space at the other end of the crack.

The moment Blaine activated Hawkeye's night vision, a pupil the size of a copper bell appeared in front of him. No, that pupil was practically pressed against Blaine's face. Blaine could even clearly see the capillaries flowing across it.

In an instant, Blaine almost broke out in a cold sweat, and he quickly moved back to create some distance. What on earth was this thing? Even his danger perception had failed to detect it. At such a close distance, anyone who wanted Blaine's life should have been able to succeed.

"Cuckoo cluck…"

"Finally, someone has come again."

"Huh? Is that you?"

Just as Blaine was preparing to stay on guard, the eyeball suddenly spoke. Blaine, who had long since grown used to this kind of scene, was not frightened this time. Instead, he became even more excited. A voice, at the very least, proved that he had come to the right place.

With Hawkeye's night vision, Blaine was able to clearly see the appearance of the thing that had spoken. Just over ten meters in front of him stood a figure dozens of feet tall, with a face as large as a millstone, two eyeballs like copper bells, sharp teeth, and a pointed mouth. From the front, it looked somewhat like a chimpanzee. However, its entire body was covered in black metal armor. To be precise, it was a metal chimpanzee.

The armor was made entirely of black metal. Not only did it blend into the dark environment, but it even seemed capable of absorbing light. However, its mottled scratches and scarred appearance proved that it had experienced many battles.

But the strange thing was that even though the armor was covered in scratches and cracks, and even though it looked like a beggar who had lost his soul for who knew how many years, the armor was still pure black. Not only were there no signs of decay, there was not even a trace of rust.

However, for some reason, Blaine always felt that this suit of armor did not resemble the creature's body.

For example, it was like a child wearing an adult's clothes.

Like a little lamb draped in the skeleton and fur of a tiger.
