Chapter 3 - New Naruto?

Timeskip

The sound of laughter echoed down the street as a blonde-haired boy sprinted ahead, with a red-haired boy following closely behind, a wide smile plastered on his face. The two raced through the bustling market, dodging vendors and shoppers alike.

They were Naruto and Haruto.

Naruto, laughing, turned back to mock, "Nahne, I'm faster than you!" He giggled, halting in front of a supermarket, hands on his hips.

"Hey that is the demon..."

"Yeah he's here to cause trouble again...this demon is really mad"

"Don't look over there son, that is a demon"

Haruto caught up, playfully patting Naruto on the back. "Don't worry, Naruto. They're blind. They can't see Mount Tai."

Naruto raised an eyebrow, completely lost. "Wait, what's Mount Tai?"

Haruto ignored him, scanning the crowd. He overheard a few whispers. "He's the double demon..." one person muttered.

Haruto's patience wore thin. "Are we doing a comedy show here?" He glanced at the crowd with an irritated look. "No? Then get the hell outta here and mind your own business."

As if on cue, a burly man emerged from the crowd. "Who are you lecturing, demon?" he sneered.

Haruto's eyes narrowed as he stepped forward. "Who the hell are you calling a demon, you pig?"

The man's face twisted in rage. "You're gonna regret this, kid." He swung his fist at Haruto.

Haruto's expression remained unbothered as he taunted, "Yeah, swing your fist. Hitting a little kid who hasn't learned anything and is 20 yeats younger than you, be a real man and talk back not hit"

The man stopped in his tracks, gritting his teeth. "You're good with words, kid. But if you weren't, I'd be giving you the beating of your life."

Haruto smirked. "Okay, pal, now go home. Your wife's waiting for you."

"I don't have a wife."

"Exactly."

Naruto snickered as Haruto grabbed his hand and began leading him into the supermarket.

"Get out of here, demons!" The shopkeeper yelled, brandishing a broomstick.

Haruto raised an eyebrow. "Are these people nuts?" he muttered to himself before turning back to Naruto, showing him the money he held. "We have money. We're just here to buy groceries."

The shopkeeper was undeterred, his face contorting with anger. "Get the hell out, demon!"

Haruto stood tall, his voice firm. "Who told you I'm a demon? Do demons transform into humans like me?"

The shopkeeper was momentarily speechless.

"Let me ask you something," Haruto continued. "If that beast could change into a human, why was it caught? Stupid questions." He gave the shopkeeper a pointed look before adding, "Now move outta the way, I'm grocery shopping, not here to destroy your shop."

After a tense silence, Haruto finally got what he needed—he had bought 10,000 ryo worth of groceries, much to Naruto's awe.

As they left the shop, Naruto looked up at Haruto, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Even though you're younger, dattebayo... you still act like the older brother."

Haruto smiled softly and ruffled Naruto's hair. "Wanna eat ramen?"

Naruto's eyes lit up. "Yeah, yeah, yeah!"

With that, they made their way to the Ichiraku Ramen shop, where they were greeted warmly by Teuchi, who was cleaning the bowls.

"Oh, who do we have here? Hello, Naruto, Haruto. How are your studies going?" Teuchi asked.

"Good, how are you, Teuchi-san? And how's Ayame-san?" Haruto responded, as Naruto nodded in agreement.

From behind Teuchi, Ayame peeked out with a smile. "You know, even though you two are twins, you're very different," she commented.

Naruto puffed out his chest proudly. "Thanks, Ayame-san! I know I'm handsome!"

Ayame burst into laughter, "You, handsome? In your dreams, Naruto. Compared to Haruto, you're modest in appearance."

Naruto's face flushed red. "Hey! I am handsome!"

Haruto leaned back, "Well, that's because he doesn't care for himself," he said, smiling

Ayame nodded in agreement. "Naruto, if you want to get a girl, you need to start dressing better."

Naruto's eyes widened as the thought struck him. Wait, that's why Sakura-chan likes Sasuke... Damn... he thought to himself. He nodded slowly, realizing Ayame might be right.

Teuchi smiled, placing their steaming bowls of ramen in front of them. "Eat up, you two," he said kindly, before Ayame winked at them and left.

They quickly devoured the ramen, enjoying the moment of peace.

Later at home, Haruto was busy cooking dinner while Naruto was tasked with cleaning. Naruto, however, had other things on his mind.

"Hey, Haruto, can you change my style of clothing?" he asked while mopping the floor.

Haruto glanced over, as he tasted the chicken curry. "Sure, Naruto, I can, but honestly, orange doesn't really suit you."

Naruto looked up, his face falling. "Then what would you recommend?"

Haruto thought for a moment he put on the lid and supported his weight on a table "Maybe a black highneck and black pants. We can add some cool logos, and I'll make sure it suits your style. It'll be perfect."

Naruto's eyes sparkled with excitement. "All black, huh?"

"Yeah," Haruto shrugged. "But how about adding a silver necklace? Or even red lining? You know, to match your taste. I'll add orange lining, though. That'll suit you."

Naruto's face lit up, and he eagerly continued cleaning the floor. "Thank you, Haruto!!"

"Haha, welcome" he said looking at his elder brother

...

After Naruto finished cleaning the house,

Haruto took out two large plates, adding fluffy white rice and ladling out the chicken curry he'd carefully made. A few slices of pickled radish finished the side.

The moment the plate hit the table, Naruto leaned in with a huge sniff.

"Smells good!" he beamed.

Haruto smirked. "It'll taste even better."

The duo dug in, the quiet clinks of their chopsticks filled with the comfort of home.

...

Meanwhile, in the Hokage's Office

Hiruzen took a long drag from his cigar, blowing out a thin trail of smoke as he gazed out the window.

"If both Naruto and Haruto pass... they'll have to be placed on the same team," he murmured.

He stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Kakashi might be the only one who can monitor them. He already knows pain, loss... and how to keep a cool head."

Three possible successors lay in Hiruzen's mind.

With the Uchiha clan gone, Sasuke's chances of being manipulated were low—unless he grew to mirror Madara's pride.

Naruto needed to master the Nine-Tails and become a perfect Jinchūriki before reaching the Hokage seat.

And Haruto... Haruto showed no ambition for power.

"Let destiny decide," Hiruzen whispered, letting the ash fall from his cigar.

...

Back at Home

Haruto lay on his futon, eyes staring at the ceiling. Beside him, Naruto kicked his feet in the air, still full of leftover energy.

"I'm really happy to have you, Haruto…" Naruto said quietly. "If you weren't here, I don't know what I'd do. Some people... they really wanted to kill me today."

Haruto didn't respond, just listened in silence.

"You're my light."

After a moment, Haruto asked, "You still want new clothes?"

Naruto instantly perked up. "Yeah!"

"Then get some sleep."

Naruto gave a quick "'Kay!" and rolled into his blanket, a smile on his face.

Haruto stared at the ceiling again. If I wasn't here in this world... Naruto would've been alone. Alone for twelve years...and killed brutally

The thought filled him with quiet fury.

...

The Next Morning

Haruto stretched and woke Naruto, and the two began their morning physical training: push-ups, laps, balance work.

Afterward, they walked to a clothing shop. The shopkeeper greeted them with a warm smile.

"Hello! What would you like today?"

Naruto, encouraged by the polite tone, stepped forward confidently. "I want, uhh…"

Haruto stepped in smoothly. "We'd like a black, full-sleeved shirt and sleek black shinobi pants. Also black sandals."

"Want the sandals in black as well?"

"Yes, and I'd like to modify the clothes. Add an orange lining that runs from the neck to the shoulders, with the Uzumaki symbol on the back."

The shopkeeper nodded.

"And a black jacket," Haruto continued, "with orange linings, pockets, and the Uzumaki crest on the back too."

She nodded again and disappeared into the back.

An hour and a half later, she returned with the finished outfits. Haruto purchased four full sets for Naruto, the total coming to 9,500 ryo.

Naruto's eyes sparkled like a kid on New Year's Day.

...

Author's corner
